Abby shoved past him and started towards the front door. "I dont care," she said simply as she grabbed her car keys. Having to pause halfway down the hall however, she leaned on the wall slightly and covered her mouth as she started coughing hard. Managing to get it under control, she leaned heavier against the wall and sighed heavily. This wasnt going to work out. She would never make it to her house or even halfway there at this rate.
Roland was by her in moments, gently wrapping her in his arms. "No, you're not. I'm taking you to the doctor, Abby." He lifted her up in his arms, carrying her down the stairs. "Maria, take care of things here. I'm taking Abby to the doctor." Maria blinked. "But Roland, the other --" He shook his head. "You can handle it. If there's a problem, just call me. But she's getting worse. And being here probably isn't so comforting to her anymore."
He started walking, going out and putting her in his car before getting in and driving to the doctor. "When did the coughing fits start, Abby? How long has it been going on?"

Abby sank into his hold and surprisingly didnt protest when he picked her up. She was quiet and put her head on his chest as he carried her. When they made it to his car, she buckled in when he put her in then kicked off her shoes and propped her feet up on the dashboard like she always did. Rubbing her forehead and frowning when he started with the questions. "Um...this morning?..last night?...im pretty sure it was last night.." She said quietly.
The car ride was making her sleepy but she managed to stay awake till they got to the doctors. She slipped her shoes back on then got out of the car. Looking at the building and sighing. "I dont know why you worry so much..its just a few extra coughs than normal.." She said to him as he came around to her side.

Roland sighed slightly. "I'm allowed to be worried, Abby. Besides...for now, this keeps you safe." He looked at her, completely serious. "I'm not going to let them hurt you." They arrived at the doctor's and he carried her inside, going in with the doctor to sit her down and let the doctor examine her and do what he needed to do. Roland seemed rather on-edge.
Abby huffed and went to protest when he picked her up but quickly shut up as they entered the office. The last thing she wanted was attention so she stayed quiet and simply put her head back on his chest. Once he set her down, Abby let the doctor do what he needed but when he went to lift up the back of her shirt to hear her breathe with the stethoscope, she hopped off the table and turned to face him. "No. If your gonna do that then i want him out," she said seriously and pointed to Roland.
Abby had several long scars on her back from her parents and she didnt need him to them or even chance it. The doctor she could talk to about keeping it secret but knowing Roland he would start asking questions and she didnt want to answer them.

Roland blinked, then nodded. "Alright." He got up and left the room, understanding that she wanted privacy. He had no clue she had something to hide, he just figured she was a girl who didn't want to be showing off a lot of skin in front of him. He sat down in the waiting room, fiddling with his fingers. He checked his phone a few times and sighed. This was bad. This was so bad. He looked at the door and just waited for Abby to come out.
Abby let the doctor check her breathing after Roland left. The doctor insisted he tell Roland but Abby argued with him for quite a while before the doctor agreed to keep it between them. The doctor called Roland in and told him everything looked good except she had a high fever and the coughing was getting worse but it wouldnt be life threatning or anything. She would have to rest and stop getting worked up if they wanted her to get any better. The more stress that was put on her the worse she would get and she would never get any better. He also wrapped up Abby's wrist and suggested putting ice on it. Then he gave Roland a prescription for her and told her to get better before she did anything too tasking.
Once they were leaving, Abby let out a sigh and rubbed her forehead. "Such a simple cold and such a fuss is made.." she muttered.

Roland got the prescription and went out to his car with her. "It could be more than just a little cold, Abby. You never know." He got into the car and drove back to his place. After all, her things were still there. "Just hang in there for a little bit longer, Abby. I know it's gonna be scary for a few minutes, but all the stress is going to be over with soon." He pulled into the driveway. The lawn was crowded with people. His pack and Colt's pack. After all, Colt had committed the most serious crime a werewolf could commit; he revealed their secret. Not just his secret, but THEIR secret. Every werewolf in the area.
Roland got out and helped her out as well, putting his arm around her. "Come on." He walked up to the group of people. "Alpha of clan Drayy, speaking. The verdict has been reached?" He knew the penalty that usually accompanied such a serious offense; death. But he wanted to see if any 'special exceptions' had been made.

Abby strunk into Roland's side as they walked into the crowds. She was never a fan of huge crowds, especially since alot of Colt's pack was looking at her and talkin amongst themselves as well as throwing untrusting and hostile glances her way. "Thats a human..." "Must be the one Colt told about us.." "Shouldnt she have been put to death already?" Those were small tid bits she heard from the werewolves around her, making her shrink further into Roland.
"Alpha of clan Moone speaking. Yes a verdict has been reached. The verdict is death," an older man with specks of white in his hair said. Colt was being restrained on the opposite side of the lawn by several other men from his own pack. Abby gasped and frowned as she heard the verdict and couldnt stop herself from stepping away from Roland and in front of the other Alpha. "You cant possibly do that!" she said in surprise as well as anger.

Roland pulled Abby back against him gently, his hand covering her mouth lightly. "I call pardon for the human. My reason being that when she overhead a couple choice words, I could have easily lied an explanation, but Colt stated out flatly what we were. Aside from that, she had no idea that we were werewolves. Her only other hint that made her think it might be a little more than fantasy is the journal. You know which one. Somehow it wound up in the library. I think it should be stored."
"As for the human, though, it is not her fault that she found out about us, and therefore I don't believe she should be punished. Your pup there was snooping around her; coming to her house in wolf form, enrolling in the school to be in every of her classes, and even sneaking into her room at night while she was asleep. If he had stayed out of the way and behaved like a normal boy, we would not have this dilemma on our hands. I am in the firm belief that it is the pup's fault, not the human's. And therefore, the human should not be punished for something she could not help."

The alpha from the Moone pack growled lowly at Abby's outburst as well as the people from his pack murming in shock amongst themselves that she would dare to speak out against his verdicct. The alpha's eyes narrowed and watched as Roland pulled her away from him, covering her mouth. He listened to Roland's reasonings and was silent for a long moment before nodding. "Very well then. She has two options then. To be turned into one of us or to be kept inside your house and gates till we are sure she can be trusted," he said in a voice of finality. His options would not be changed. Abby squirmed hard against Roland and bit his hand since it was over her mouth. When he jerked it away out of reaction, she scowled at the other alpha. "You cant do that! I'll miss too much of school!" she exclaimed.
The alpha of the Moone packed narrowed his eyes and growled threateningly. Abby instantly shrunk back into Roland and calmped her mouth shut. "Just be grateful im allowing you to live girl," he said coldly then looked to his men. Walking over to Colt, he put his hands on either side of his head then jerked his head to the side snapping his neck. Abby's eyes grew wide in horror at seeing that. "Oh..my gosh.." she whispered.

Roland looked at Abby and scowled. "Abby! Silence!" He looked at the alpha and nodded. "Thank you. She will be kept inside my house and gates until we're sure she can be trusted." He watched solemnly as Colt's neck was snapped right in front of everyone. "Alpha. With no disrespect, I feel that both packs should retrain our pups and remind them of how crucial it is to keep a secret. I don't want anymore lives lost." He put his arm around Abby, bowed his head respectfully, then pulled her into the house gently. "You and me have a lot to talk about." he said quietly to her. He got some ice, then brought her up to her room and had her sit down with the ice on her wrist.
"That was my parents, a while ago." he murmured, looking out the window and watching them take Colt's body away. "They accidentally let the secret out. The humans and my parents were both killed. Just like that." he was quiet for a moment. "It's sudden, isn't it? One moment he's alive...the next he's dead." He closed his eyes, putting his face in his hands. "It's always sudden." After a few long moments, he straightened and took in a deep breath, letting it out.
"I'm getting you an excused absence from school. You can be around the property, but once you reach a fence then you can't go any further. I don't like confining you like this, but it's better than becoming one of us." He looked at her and smiled slightly. "I'll teach you while I'm here at home, so you won't miss much school, okay? I promise. And if you just chill out and show you won't tell anyone, I'm sure you'll be out of 'house arrest' before graduation."
He reached over and took the journal that was by her bed. "I'm keeping this. It shouldn't be read, Abby. It just shouldn't." He sighed and stood up, brushing himself off. "I'll leave you alone now. Any questions you think up, I'll answer later. Okay?"

Abby silently followed Roland, the horror still reflected in her eyes at seeing Colt's death. She had never seen anyone die before and especially not in such a violent way. She didnt look at the window, not wanting to see Colt's dead body. Abby never protested to him taking the journal and she never said anything, just looking at the floor as Roland continued on. Only to whisper "Okay." when he was done speaking. Crawling further into her bed, she kicked off her shoes and curled up under the covers. Seeing Colt's death had certainly taken a toll but more than any of that she realized she couldve been dead too.
Before Roland could leave, Abby sat back up and looked at him. "Roland? Who was the girl in the pictures?" she asked quietly, knowing she shouldnt have been looking to begin with.

Roland froze. He didn't turn, he just stopped. There was a long silence. "Crystal." he said quietly. "Her name was Crystal." He turned, only to reach over and take the box of pictures and leave the room. He went to his own room, shoving the box deep into his closet and slamming the door. It took several deep breaths to calm the shudders of a tempting transformation. He was angry, he was upset. And when he was so emotional, the change always took place. He kept breathing, calm, even breaths. Then he just sat down on his bed. This was bad.
Abby knew he was mad when he didnt turn or even look at her as he grabbed his box and left. Wincing as she heard her door shut harder then normal. Running her fingers through her hair, she gave a heavy sigh then fell back onto her bed. Hearing thunder rumble outside, she closed her eyes and waited for the storm to break. Rain started to pour down heavily a few minutes after and Abby got out of bed. She knew Roland was mad and she wanted to apologize but that wouldnt help at the moment so she decided to let him have time.
Walking over to her window, she climbed up onto the window sill and sat there with her knees to her chest and her arms on her knees. Putting her head on her arms, she watched the rain fall and fell deep into her own thoughts. Not coming out for dinner or even when Maria knocked to ask if she was okay. Abby sat there silently and watched the relentless rainfall throughout the rest of the day and even into the night. She had alot she needed to figure out and she hardly heard anything besides her own thoughts.

After a time, Roland knocked on Abby's door. "Hey Abby, open up. You need to eat." He sighed softly, waiting for her to open the door. "Do you have any questions? I can try to answer them." He wasn't too angry, just upset. Upset about what she'd said, at least. He was angry with the current circumstances. With having to lock her up. But unfortunately, it was the lesser of two evils.
Abby was brought out of her thoughts as she heard another knocking on the door. Hearing Roland through the door, she softly sighed and turned to look out at the rain again. "Im not hungry and i dont really have questions," she replied loud enough for him to hear. Delving back into her thoughts, she squeezed her eyes shut as the image of Colt being killed popped up in her mind again. It was all too vivid and had been torturing her all day. It was her fault. She should have listened to Roland and never even considered hanging out with him in the first place.
Abby started coughing hard then shook it off once it was over. She had been doing that all day and it wasnt getting any better. "Stupid lying doctors.." she muttered. Besides Abby was comfortable where she was at and like she had been doing most of the day, she could get lost by watching the rain.

Roland frowned and fetched the key for the room, unlocking it and stepping inside. "Abby, you know it's not healthy to skip meals. Especially when you're sick." He walked over to her, but didn't touch her. He wasn't really sure if she trusted him anymore.
"Why don't you just have some soup? Have some soup, and I'll leave you alone. You can even have it in here, right where you are. Okay? I just want you to eat something." He sounded nearly desperate. He didn't want her to make herself even more sick just because of this big shock that happened that day.

Abby was silent for a minute before looking at Roland. "Okay..but can you stay? I dont want to be alone..maybe watch a movie with me?" she asked, her eyes brightening up a little. Getting off the window sill carefully, she offered Roland a small smile then crawled onto her bed. "Roland. Im sorry for looking at your pictures. I was just curious," she said before he could leave and she looked sincerely sorry.
