Hello! I'm wondering if you'd be willing to consider displaying constituent dice rolls along with the final total? I know you can roll multiple dice in a post, but it would be nice to choose '3d4' and get everything in one go.

Eg) '1+2+3=6'

Dicelog is a great example of this!

eta benefits of the feature:
  1. Less clicking for the user
  2. Less clicks away from RPR, which means...
  3. Easier play for members who might have considered moving entirely over to another RP site like Roll20
  4. More support for the game mechanics-using end of the RPR base

I've seen this on other sites too. What's the benefit of laying out the rolls this way?
I distinctly remember that Old World of Darkness used it to determine success, since many rolls required 3d10. X number of high rolls = high success in an attempted action.
The benefit would greatly reduce the need to use offsite rollers, or even sites like Roll20 to continue playing on forums that utilise dice rolling mechanics.

This would be especially beneficial for users that play games like Exalted or Vampire the Masquerade, where they have dice pools that go into their abilities. Say I have a character from either Exalted or VtM, my character wants to roll wits + perception, and I have 8 dice to roll from.

I have to roll 8d10, and the way that Exalted and VtM work, you get a success for every die that is above the value of 7. You can't exactly know that if you roll 8d10 in one "Include a dice roll with this post" and inputting that data unless you are to add them manually one by one -- which is actually just more work.

Not to mention, there could be potential in this for rolling for raffles. If there are ever situations where people are allowed to roll more than one dice for any reason, then this would also allow for people to roll more than one die that shows the value of the dice rolled. Especially useful if someone doesn't necessarily understand the current dice rolling mechanics of the site.

Ooh I had no idea! That sounds like an interesting addition. :D Maybe a dice roll can have a collapse tag (like saying 'Details' or 'More' or whatever) below or next to it that expands and displays the individual rolls? That way the rolls don't clutter a post unnecessarily, and it doesn't overload newbies for whom the individual rolls don't matter, but still give everyone access to the full rolls where needed.

ooh, yes please! this would really benefit me and my pals! :D

edit: shadowrun is a good example of how much this would help - average pools are 6-10 dice!

I must add my voice to the choir here - as someone who plays a lot of Shadowrun and White Wolf systems, and is forced to often go offsite for his rolls for this very reason, this would be an extremely useful feature!
