Everything in the landing sequence was automated. The pilot didn't have to talk to a tower. This ship and the base which welcomed it with open doors were too advanced for simple radio communications. The little man set the craft on the proper glideslope and as the tiny ship approached, a 'tugbolt' latched onto the frequency of it's transmitters.

Zyyraogt and the others could rely on a worry-free landing anytime. The glideslope also helped the ship land on any flat surface. The petite Martian Gray monitored the controls as the large, open doors swallowed his ship.

He sighed, "Home sweet second home", he said as his ship was surrounded by the dark caverns of the underground taxiways.

"Candy, Candy, Candy", he said as the ship took up speed and accelerated through the halls, automatically.

Eventually it touched down.

Ten minutes after the fighter landed, the Gray was in the common area. He waited with two large bowls of sweet confections from across the galaxy. While the others were out on Patrol, Zyyraogt would be on trick-or-treater watch. A portal was in place, where travelers could travel through time and space right to the front door.

Only a special few would see it. But Zyyraogt didn't just want to hand out candy, evidenced by the empty wrappers left from his own indulgences. He was looking for another pilot to watch his tail, and vice versa...

And a literal tail he would find. A tall man with long white hair would appear through the portal. His solid red eyes showing his surprise on being here. He had been home only moments before, and opened a portal aimed for a plant his aunt lived on, yet somehow it connected to this one. His long furry golden tail twitched as he looked around the new area.
"What sort of sorcery is this?"
He would ask himself.

The portal fizzed, whirled and lit brightly before the first guest appeared. The portal had drawn it's first guest. The plucky little Gray nervously approached the entry pad, sensing a dangerous presence from the newcomer. The slight sixth sense is a result of his larger brain, which forced the top of his skull outward like a bulb.

"Ah, yes.. Uh-huh... Welcome to the Crimson Planet." An 'unscrambler' translated each language into a generic one both could understand, the two creatures from either land speaking clearly to each other.

"Magic, it is", said the alien awkwardly. "Your spirit was called here. Only you'll know why. In the mean time.... Candy?"

He held out a bowl, the ship was not within view of the portal room. Many lights flashed around exposed wires and circuits. Heavy metal panels covered the walls. There were various read out screens measuring everything from the guests vital statistics, the status of aircraft parked and in flight around the galaxy. Others showed weather readouts of the planet's surface.

"I sense power from within you", said the Gray.

The god looked around the area in which he had been drawn. It was clearly high-tech, maybe even more advanced then his aunt's planets. But then again, said planet was ruled by a monarchy, which was headed by said aunt. He then looked down at the grey alien, he had seen such creatures before. Yet it was when he was young.

"Thank you for the welcome."
He would say, then look down at the candy in his hands. He would gladly accept, taking a single piece of peppermint. His next statement though made the god's red eyes narrow slightly. He didn't know that greys could sense power.

"Your sense would be correct.

Greys had a strong telepathic sense. Many who encountered them would mention things like, the aliens seemed to communicate without moving their tiny lips. Of course, they could also speak. Certain people just had the ability to connect to their telepathic link. Many greys spoke to each other through shared thoughts or nonverbal/mental 'vocalizations'.

In the case of the visitor, Zyyraogt only had a vague sense of enhanced mental or maybe even spiritual capabilities. He had no clue just how powerful the guest might be. It was just clear the male was more than a standard being. It may have even been a little obvious.

"Ah yes, the striped mint", the little creature said. "Fine choice, fine choice." He motioned for the visitor to come inside. "Well, you're here. I may as well show you the star fighter." His tiny jaw formed his lips into a smile. " 's my pride and joy.."

The portal popped, whizzed and with a bang, spit out a man dressed for the later 1700s. The materials looked expensive, with ornate blue and gold detailing on his vest and a fine wool cloth on his gray pants. His boots appeared almost military issued, and almost in the style of a functional dress uniform.

He wore paint on his face, dried clay from a certain cove.

"Where the blue devil is this, you little cretin?", the man said as he towered over the small Gray alien. "This'd be the second time you've whisked me away on one of your little whims."

There was a familiarity in the alien's face that showed they had some sort of report with each other. "Rob. Good to see you... Welcome, welcome back to the Red planet!"

The human seemed more annoyed than anything. He muttered an insult under his breath.

"Come on! I need a navigator! I can't leave this dumpy galaxy without a navigator. Rob... You can tell stories about sailing the high seas... Why wouldn't you want to travel the universe? Wait until you see Quanta Prime..."
