Some people may already know about a few from here and there but a lot of Naruto Character names and a few Techinques have meanings that are of certain animals whether the animal is in some way related to said character is a different story. Tonight/Today just for fun I've compiled a few that I know are also animal names:

Characters:
Itachi- Weasel
Iruka- Dolphin,
Sasori- Scorpion
Chouji- (The word Chou means Butterfly)
Kabuto - It means Helmet but is also used in the word for the Japanese rhinoceros beetle Kabutomushi)
Sarutobi - the first part of his name means monkey
Sai-Rhino

Organizations:
Hebi - Snake
Taka - Hawk

Item only one I know Karasu - Crow(Kankuro's Puppet one of his)

Techinque that I know is also an animal name is only one thus far
Kirin - Giraffe

Naruto...oh, y'mean the series which got its name from fish cakes that sit atop ramen bowls?
Sakura literally means cherry blossom.

most Anime Character names are an intentional play on words. whether about the character's personality or birthday, or about their powers and the like. or roughly pertaining to some detail of the base character concept. if you Look at Naruto's main Rival Bleach. the full name "Kurosaki Ichigo" is intended to be read as "Paladin who Wears a Black Cloak" or "Black Cloaked Protector."

so you generally want to look at the full name of the character and see if it is a play on words or what it plays on.
