So I want to really develop a world around a bunch of Mermaids and Mermen I've created in 3D. I built a set for them and have a second one I need to finalize. I actually also have a beach for them. I have a bunch of characters defined and I'll probably play them all at different times, even using different characters to talk to others.

I eventually want to get an official group forum up. For now I'd like 2 others to help set the scene and maybe add more pods/join the Murky Tail crew...

Don't have a mermaid? I could design one using the different species here.. For example, I love the Pacific Orca Folk... Check out the gigantic Blue Whale Folk... I have a pretty cool tropical guy with thick scales... Not to mention ideas for creating many more species.

With 3-4 people I'd post on a forum as PMs are messy to go back and read. And I don't want this to be some rush story packed away in the many block format of long, old DMs.

No one liners... It shouldn't be easy to fit a post in one paragraph either, unless it's just some quick (rare) cutscene. That's because the goal should be to develop, not just a rush through the post.

I don't have a merchatacter, but I would gladly make one to join this.

Two quick responses.. The big group has potential. Glad to have you both.. I guess I'll leave room for one more in this pre-official launch. Lupus.. What's your basic idea of a merfolk? I'm not doing the animation freehand, but I have a large library and should be able to do a lot...

I don't have horns, but in the future I could. Different types of scales and colors. I need to get more delicate skin scales, but for now I'm basically doing either glossy skin or I could do thicker, obvious scales.. Of course, you could find your own avatar... I just like to create.

Also, thanks for checking out my trick or treat thread, Lupus... Also glad to have an established mermaid character as well. I'd love to see how she RPs and see what I can blend into my first underwater RP...

I've already made a few Ideas for the character. I might make a few more and send them to you to see what you can do with them.

Okay.. Well if you can draw your own, you could always use those. The only benefit to having my animations is that I can put them into the world and in images with my crew.. But I'm sure most people would just submit their art.

In all Honesty I would love to see my characters in your work.

I am in the process of making a mermaid AU for this character. I have one picture of her as a mermaid, and plenty of others of her original design. Hopefully you can do something with that?

She looks awesome... I should be able to do something with that for sure! I just might not have the long dorsal stripe... But I can show you what I can work up... Should have something later tonight!

All this time and I've just worked up the face. I gave her the heart shape, with the pointy chin. It's at a more complex angle than your drawing, but should be consistent. There are often such differences when going from 2D to 3D, check any comic movie. Think of her as the actress playing your character...

Feel free to suggest a few edits, although some tweaks could take a lot of effort. Still, I want you to be happy with her. So thoughts? I think her upper body is also about done. Tomorrow I can get the tail setup.

I'm glad you like her! You're the one with talent with that freehand drawing, that was great. This is more like a sculpt and combining assets and features into an animation. But I do enjoy it! I wish I could do that dorsal stripe perfectly, maybe there's a way. The outfit won't be the same, but she's allowed to change clothes. I can probably make her with a few outfits.. But I'll keep that as a theme for the styling...

I don't mind about the dorsal stripe, or the clothes in all honesty. I tend to draw her in different outfits anyways. ^-^

Sounds good! Well there are three of us. I think those two pics of Cinder are good enough to start writing. I think a forum RP should be good enough for now, maybe we'll expand into a group if we get larger. Expect something up tonight or tomorrow. If you have any RP buddies, feel free to invite them!
