I've seen some things, in my time, which I can't properly explain. As to whether or not they could realistically be called "ghosts", I prefer to withhold judgement.
I'm pretty neutral on the subject. I don't doubt them, but I'm also not exactly the type to run around trying to prove to others that they're real. I've always been curious enough to want to visit someplace that is rumored to be haunted, though. I believe in something, I guess you could say. I'm just not quite sure what.
I have also seen things i could not explain, along with felt things. In my own opinion i believe they are real, though that is just based on my own experiences and the experiences of people i know.
I've had several encounters, good and bad, and I believe those to have been real experiences. Assuming it's my brain being weird, I've explored medical explanations and found none except for the waking sleep paralysis thing that also is used to explain alien abduction. Though only 70% of my mishaps were at night or in this state.
All the same I don't believe spooks are real.
Really that stance is for my own sanity, given my history. I'm fairly neutral on the subject of all the supernaturals as a whole. They can exist if they want so long as they don't bother me.
I do find the history and stories are always fascinating though. Of Myths and religions as well. Also the explanations of the causes and how some environments can trigger these visions and feelings when other places got nothin'.
Honestly I'm so used to creaks, scratching and screams [Dun get excited, Australian Possums scream like banshees] and seeing stuff I dun give a damn anymore. I like my current house cause there's none of that... aside from the totally normal doors opening/slamming, lights flicking and water turning itself on randomly. That's what old houses do.

I am a non-believer, and this is funny because I actually have lived in a house once where I slept in what was basically the basement, although it is a special kind of house that is common in certain parts of Belgium. In this place I did often get eerie feelings for no reason, heard things in the night that seemed to be in my room, or getting that feeling of a presence being near me.
I have however once read an article about how ghosts work, scientific reasonings behind why someone would get the haunted feeling, and thinking back on that place it was just perfect to simulate those factors. Thus with that in the back of my mind I've faded mostly into a non-believer.

A lot of electrical outlets that generate a certain amount of electromagnetic fields (or some similar technical mumbo jumbo) can cause these feelings. There's also a difference in pressure, sometimes subtle drafts and similar conditions that put you on edge because they trigger natural survival instincts. Feelings of 'being watched' or 'someone's here with me' are mostly just from the environment and increased mental stimuli rather than anything dead and haunting. Is that consistent with what you read up on?
This is exactly what I would agree with, Sanne. However, a part of me would like to believe that perhaps spirits are real, or something ethereal is out there. And that could just be because I'd like to believe something happens after we die. I'm far from being religious, but I would be a liar if I said that I did not think there was some part of us that is released and carried on after we die.
I'm with lance, lor and jay.....I am a firm believer of ghosts, spirits, demons and angels (last two in a good and evil, not a religious thing) however I won't go into why.
Can't say that I do, honestly. I mean, the human mind is a powerful thing, it is. But the idea that it could somehow affect the world after it has ceased to function as a whole is, in my eyes, implausible.
The existence of souls is kind of a complicated manner. There's absolutely no purpose for the belief, really, as everything a human is can be explained through science. Nor is there any evidence pointing towards the existence of the soul as a thing; I mean, it's not like it has a physical representation.
I'd be willing to believe (indeed, I'd be happy to hear), if someone managed to come up with reasonable proof as to their existence, but until then I'm going to have to throw in my lot with the "no" crowd.
