Hello there! One of my friends showed me this site and I hope to start writing with some people again. I'm not spending as much time as I used to with roleplay and chats, mostly because I've wasted more time than I've enjoyed, but I'll try to be somewhat active.

I enjoy writing fantasy, adventure, and sometimes sci-fi stories. It's fun to put depth into a world and work into lore. But it's not fun to have it all go ignored so my enthusiasm for writing much of anything has been dulled to say the lease. So I'll most likely be talking in the chats (if there are any, haven't checked) if I'm ever on. Though if there is an interesting story to work on I'd be more than happy to put time and effort into it.

I do most of my rp in a actual d&d game that I play once to twice a week with some friends. So I have about 5-6 years worth of characters and lore ready to go if people are ever interested in diving into a fantasy world.

Yay you finally made an introduction! xD There's a launch chat button like.... everywhere, I think, and an actual chat in the smalltalk forum. That's all I know as far as chats. I haven't figured out any group things yet so I dunno if they have the same feature.

I really recommend checking out the Looking For RP boards, and I definitely recommend hitting up the OOC Chat as a place to get to know some of your fellow roleplayers!

Don't mind the people that have a tendency to copy and paste their welcomes. Some users just welcome a lot of users and never really seem to adjust their greetings. It's a little awkward, but it's easy to tell who does such.

Sounds like you've had a bit of a rough go regarding world building and sharing the load in an RP. I'm not sure how things are that way on this site yet--I haven't had a chance to get down into a lot of threads because I've also got a lot on my plate right now--but OOCly folks are very friendly. There is one main chat in the forum 'small talk'. You can open 'just chatting' stickied to the top and then click the 'launch chat' button near the top of the thread. It's usually fairly quiet but it's nice if you want some folks to hang out in the background as you're working on other things.

I think that if you're clear on what you want out of an RP, you'll have fairly good success here. Don't be afraid to stick up a boundary like 'Hey, I put a lot of work into my posts and would like you to do so as well', and then enforce it if someone isn't meeting your needs. We try to be especially friendly and patient here, but that shouldn't come at the cost of you feeling like you're wasting your time, you know?
