The signs of war between mythical beings are looming over the Shadow World, dark and foreboding as storm clouds rolling across the sun.
It all traces back to the natural enemies of this Earth, a war that will never truly cease between the two races: vampires and werewolves. Their bloody feud is beginning to draw different species in, one at a time, growing gradually until an army has been built for both parties. Blood is soon to be shed, lives to be lost. Families will be torn apart, and lives will be shredded with a single blow. No mercy is to be shown on either side.
The royal family of the lycanthropes are ready to declare war after their kind were brutally murdered in an alleged ambush attack. One victim stands out among others: an Underwood, the prince of werewolves, and next in line to the throne. This sent the king into a fit of rage, ordering immediate death to the monster responsible for his son's demise. There was something between the two races, almost of an unspoken agreement, to respect boundaries and avoid causing trouble. Whatever thin ice was walked on, however carefully balanced they each teetered on the brink, had been smashed through.
But there are two sides to every story.
Regardless of who was at fault, the very balance of the world is at stake. The existence of the Shadow World is at risk to being revealed to the humans, a secret the mundane world knows nothing of. Humans do not have the ability to come to terms with the magic that reigns their world; the Salem Witch Trials are proof of that. Despite whatever war is to occur, if the Shadow World's existence is revealed, the humans will turn out victors. The supernatural are abnormal beings of a minority; the humans are normal beings of a far larger population.
Will you help to stop the war that could throw the world out of balance? Or will you fight to see your enemies vanquish?
The prompt above is set in a wartime era, through modern age or fantasy is entirely flexible-- as is many other details surrounding the plot. All characters of any race, species, gender, age, etc. are welcome to join! This is a 1x1 roleplay, but with an infinite number of slots. Romance is an open possibility, and may even add flare to the plot. I only ask that posts are written to, at minimum, a paragraph. Any further questions or interests can be discussed over PM or through these forums; feel free to ask anything!
