The paladin's golden eyes widened, and he gasped as the expression on his face became a prime example of the phenomenon often described as 'dull surprise'.

"A-an Immortal?"

Immortals were the rulers of his home world, given total immunity to death and reality-altering powers by the gods of righteousness to guide and help people. Their playful personality, coupled with their immense powers and a very strange sense of humor that bordered on the sadistic made Tyval fear them quite a bit, but even he knew they were all wise, good people always willing to help the ones who needed.

Tyval himself was immortal too, kind of - one of the good things of being an Angel, you only age if you want to. But he was getting vibes from Dadj that made him believe the human hadn't goten his immortality from the gods of righteousness.

"If you still want to do it, I can make your clothes fireproof..." He repeated.

He knew swimming in magma, immortal or not, was never a good idea. But he wouldn't confront the creepy glaring man about it.

Erin had followed them without anyone knowing she was there, as she always had. If someone noticed her, she'd have to cover for herself...and that would suck majorly. Blarg. She trailed behind them, running at her normal speed when necessary, careful not to make a sound.

(So unnoticed that...heh, I completely forgot about her. xD Welcome back.)

(Thanks, XDD. It's taking a turn for the, eh, better, I guess? Anyway, I wonder just how long it will be until someone notices she's there. :PP)

(Well, if she's thinking loud enough, Mink will probably notice whether she wants to or not.)

(Hmm...how does one think quietly? )

“Well I wouldn’t want to step on Miss Hero’s feet by doing so. It was only an idea.” He picked at the leather shreds that were half healed into his skin from his destroyed coat. “Besides, what good will it be if I’m the only one getting through?”

He caught their eyes individually. He enjoyed goading them on; it was better than sitting here and waiting in silence. His aura was now close to visible, plumed around him like a writhing entity.

Mink flopped down onto the ground, sitting cross-legged. She crossed her arms and huffed. This was getting boring. And if this was getting boring, that meant it was time for her to find something amusing to do. Hmmm...
"Hey. Hey, Dadj. 'Sup with you?" She stared at him, wide-eyed, ears up.

The glaring man's aura became noticeable. That's when Tyval started being freaked out again. He would much rather stay away from the glaring man... but since he was now in the same adventuring group as he was - with possibly the vaguest description of a goal in existence - all he could do was make sure the glaring man was kept busy. Busy people tend to be less dangerous to one's health.

For once in his life, he wished that they were attacked soon.

Lurking invisibly at the back of the group, Erin tried to find out from the conversation everyone had had before, in the castle, what the goal was exactly. Hmm...it sounds like they're--we're--trying to stop someone. An underground villain. That's not going to be easy... Invisible Malith walked along beside her, about the size of a very large dog or a very small pony. He had his wings folded, because flying when he was invisible created shadows on the ground. Nonetheless, he really wanted to fly. He had begged Erin with his super-adorable face the whole distance from the castle and Erin kept shaking her head no. She didn't want them to be noticed and not have them hear her whispers of an explanation. But it might happen anyway, she thought to Malith. -But Eriinnnn!!!!! Malith thought back. Erin sighed silently and shook her head again. All of this had happened without her noticing she was walking on the outskirts of the group, right beside Mink.

Dadj regarded Mink with what were for him, softer eyes. To most anyone else the glare was still harsh. He took her in and almost chuckled at her obvious similarities to canine behavior. She was talking to him, he realized and he should probably answer instead of just staring at her.

"What is that supposed to mean?" The amber of his eyes swirled like the lava churned in the volcano.



((Dadj is set more in a medieval fantasy kind of mode so saying things like "sup" to him is confusing lol ))

The vampire smirked and rested her head in her palm, elbow on her knee. She noted the slight change in the ranger's expression. She gave him her full attention then, and to the others it would seem that she had forgotten about them completely, judging by the personal questions she obviously didn't mind asking.
"It means, human..why is your fuse so short? Why do you not die? And...how do you do that with your eyes?" The woman gazed intensely at Dadj, seemingly transfixed.

(Haha, good. That'll fit nicely into my evil plan..Evil Plaaaaan! ..no.)

He continued to regard her, but his eyes got more narrow with each question. He decided she might actually be worth telling things to. If was was indeed a vampire, she would have a long life as well. And if he was to make a friend of any sort, they had better have a long life.

He chose to go with blunt answers. "People are annoying and they are insignificant in the long term; Cursed with Undying; and I do not know what you are talking about."

Blinked once, that last answer not really what she expected. Her own eyes glowed, albeit not very bright; but that was a constant thing, not very noticeable. She stood and crossed her arms, wings folded back. Her ears folded back slightly and she took on a more friendly rather than weird, hypnotized expression.
"I see. Well, as long as we're just standing here," she glanced around at the group, lingering for a moment on the spot where Erin should be, "I have no problem with sharing information." Anything to make the time pass more quickly...and perhaps learn something useful.

CCRRAAPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Erin stiffened. Malith winced at the loudness of her thought. She noticed me!!! HOW THE HELL DID SHE NOTICE ME!?!? Her eyes went wide and she stared at Mink. She was still invisible! How could the girl have noticed her? GAH! She continued to pretend as if she hadn't noticed...

Had she the ability, Mink would have told the invisible person to shut up. Instead, her ear twitched at the mental outburst. Yes...definitely someone here. Oh well. She'd let it slide for now and let Casper remain unknown and anonymous.
"So! Who's in?"

Tyval snapped to attention, and fought the urge to salute to the vampire. He had been once again distracted, this time with his own mace, which hummed and glowed as a result of having been Holy Forged. Said hum and glow had gotten his attention.

"Erm, what? In? E-er, do you s-still mean that swimming in magma thing?"

Sam had taken a seat and begun meditating around the time of her last post. (In reality I had been struck down by the confluence of a flu bug and the start of an 80-hour-a-week semester.)

She noticed a place near their group where there were no people, but the flow of air in the area was disturbed just as if there was someone, or something taking up space.

Hmmm... ninjas.

She said nothing, however, and remained motionless save for her breathing. Mort had laid on his side and curled up next to her. To him, this posture just meant they weren't going anywhere for a while, which usually meant less treats. Boorrrriinnng.

Dadj inadvertently agreed with the dinosaur. He was becoming increasingly bored. Mink had entertained him for a few moments, but now here attention was elsewhere, waiting for someone else to spill their life guts. He pulled loose a dagger from his boot and flipped it over and over in the air.

Erin noticed that both Samantha and Mink had noticed the air where she was now, and vowed to be more careful. She stayed still atop Malith's back and eyed the people there. She could tell about Samantha from what she'd seen that she was adventurous and spunky. Mink was more laid back, but shared the same love for adventure. Dadj...Dadj got bored easily, and he was sarcastic, snarky, and haughty. Erin definitely didn't want to be near him. She decided to stay next to Mink as much as possible.
