(Thanks, mross. You're a trooper. xD)
((The Toxify spell inflicts the same kind of poisoning that the source material's does, so it can be healed by serums and antidotes, and spells.))
The wall shot a menacing glare at the charging intruder and waited for her to get just a bit closer, then began slashing wildly at her with its giant twin swords. These thinks can cut giant trees down in one swipe, just to make it clear how much damage a hit can do. It had shored up its defenses with quick successive castings of Protect and Shell just before Samantha made her possibly suicide charge.

Remember Divine Health? Tyval had casted that spell upon himself a while before. ((OOC: See page twenty. )) And it was smart of him: the toxic cloud left him mostly unharmed. Mostly - he was feeling a little sickish, but what's that for a hardened Paladin?
Question being... what would wear off first, the blessing or the poison?
When Samantha gave him the order, the terrified paladin stuttered a 'yes' and proceeded to get the waterskin and bless it. Luckily blessing stuff went easy on his mana. It still took two tries, as he was so terrified he misspelled the prayer once before he got it right.
Then, out of sheer willpower, he started walking towards the wall. Sure, he felt like he was going to faint, and was shaking so much his muscles were hurting. But he still did it. The only thing that could suppress his fear was his sense of duty. And his duty at the time was to help his superior, the lizard-like adventurer Samantha, destroy the monster! And well, not let her die.

Sam ducked under a blade as it swung across, then strafed to the side as the other came down vertically, crashing in to the ground just to her side. Without slowing her charge, she leapt up and on to the sword's hilt, then sprinted up the thing's arm. As she raised her sword, its hilt ignited and turned the blade to blue fire. She brought it down as hard as she could on what she thought was the thing's face.
A brilliant flash of light erupted as the weapon reacted with the immense amount of magic suffusing the wall, and Sam was flung back with hideous force, an awful scream trailing her the whole way. She'd collapsed against the wall a full fifty meters back down the tunnel in the direction they'd come from. She couldn't breathe. She had no memory at all of what had happened. If she'd ever been struck by lightning, and could form coherent though, she'd have compared it to that. She wondered how she was still conscious.
As her lungs started up again, she raised her head slowly. First she saw what was left of the group. Names escaped her. A little further down, she saw the... thing. Not even chipped. Just sitting there like nothing had happened, probably laughing to itself at her incompetence, about to end more innocent lives.
Her breath came in little wheezy gasps. "Not... here. Can't... die here." Barely a whisper. She looked down and saw her right hand still held her sword, which had reverted to normal. All the color had drained out of her fingers. She managed a half-hearted smirk at this, giving thanks for tiny miracles.
((It's unlikely her attack would have even damaged the thing's protective spells, much less its actual body, considering its power. There's another part to this post, but I don't want to be a big dumb selfish selfishness-pants.
Also, Erin has to post. Assuming she's still alive.))

((It's on.))
It all happened so fast. A flash. A body flying past him, the body of the one he was supposed to protect. Dead. Obviously dead - who could ever survive such a blast? The paladin lost all the will to move, his limbs once again becoming stiff with fear. He didn't mind. There was no escape, anyway - he might as well give his life to buy his comrades a little more time. With a huge effort, he raised his shield. The wall was approaching, slowly but surely.
He closed his eyes - then felt something climbing onto his shoulder. He opened his right eye, what could it be?
It was Gabby the squirrel, who was squeaking in a rather strange manner as if he was trying to talk. Or rather, pray, while making equally strange movements with his little paw. The terrified paladin recognized the prayer: he was trying to summon someone.
Gabby was summoning Dadj back.

The Ranger felt a new tugging sensation on his person. He couldn't breathe where he was, wherever that was and the sensation of his lungs shriveling and burning was a new one. One he did not particularly enjoy. He couldn't propel himself in any direction to move away from the tugging, so he was resigned to let whoever was weaving a spell over him. He felt the tugging strengthen and soon he felt as if his entire body was being sucked into a funnel.
After the feeling of being crushed through said tunnel, Dadj found his body re-inflated and dumped on the same dank dungeon floor it had previously been pulled from. He felt a different kind of burning as the atmosphere of oxygen he was used to filled his lungs and pumped the stagnant blood back through his system, causing the increasing blueness of his skin to recede. He looked around him in confusion.

(Exciting. o: )
The power of the wall's Protect spell had been reduced by over half, and some of the damage had pierced through - it was shown as cracks on it. Nevertheless, it continued its advance, adding a new AOE spell to the fray - Blindga. This will, obviously, blind anyone affected. It immediately casted this, which manifested itself as a black streak racing towards the intruders. As soon as it struck a spot on the ground in the middle of them all, it exploded into a pitch black, magic cloud - for anyone affected, this blindness will last for quite a while, even after the cloud is gone.
((Bump?))
The paladin's reaction to the sudden blindness was immediate.
"Cancellation."
Moron. His vision cleared immediately, but so did his Divine Health blessing, the one that was stopping the poison from deteriorating his body. He would soon regret having done so. Now he could see the insanely big monster slowly getting closer... while he, on his knees, doing his best to withstand the horrible pain.

Having barely any handle on anything magic, Dadj was at a loss when his eyesight was suddenly stolen from him. He had only just made it to his feet and assessed the situation well enough to know that they were under attack and this thing had probably warped him to space. He staggered backward, trying to find a wall to keep his bearings. He wasn't afraid of being attacked, he was just annoyed that he couldn't see how he would be hit.
((Does Tyval's spell cancel the entirety of Blindga, or just on himself?))

((I'm proceeding on the assumption that the spell affects Tyval only.))
Sam remained slumped against the wall, uncertain if she was in shock, or if anything was broken or bleeding. Her breathing had returned to normal, but now her sight suddenly left her.
"Great. Cool." She thudded her head against the wall behind her in exasperation.
She was about ready to give up when she and the rest of the doomed fools in the cavern were treated to a peculiar, yet familiar noise.
"Groooooonnnnnkk!"
It was Mort, of course, and rather upset by the sound of his voice. Sam couldn't help but grin despite their situation when she heard him. At least he was still okay, for now. Then she frowned, wondering how he made the dangerous descent in to that pit back there on his own. Naturally anyone whose eyes were still working and looking in Mort's direction would have been able to see the various bruises and cuts and scrapes he had suffered while basically falling all the way down the pit's least steep wall. He didn't seemed bothered though, as he was trotting along at a decent clip through the tunnel.
Even if Mort had become blind when entering the area ((not quite sure how the spell works)), his keen sense of smell would still allow him to locate Samantha. He bounded over to her in a hurry, greeting her with his necessary, helpful, and not-at-all disgusting kisses. Pleasantries accounted for, Sam got his attention (by roughly grabbing the sides of his face with both hands) and tried to direct it over toward Tyval. She made a drinking gesture and pointed, gestured and pointed, over and over. "Mort, get drink-bag. Bring. Drink-bag. Bring. Then treats. Okay?" When she let go of his face, she could tell he'd run off in that direction immediately, but she had no idea if he'd obey her, or if he was just running of to say hi to Tyval, or possibly the demonic wall. She shuddered, hating herself for making Mort get closer to that thing. She didn't have any other options though.
She'd been off in her own world when Dadj had appeared, and she was still oblivious to his presence now that she was blind. Having just sent Mort to probably get sacrificed for little to no reason, she became oblivious to everything else as well, resembling a deflating bag. She hovered on the edge of consciousness.
Mort reached the spot where the object of his quest lay, and noticed Tyval and the thing preparing to end all their lives.
The shiny man is fighting the big thing. Bag. Why are they fighting? Drink. Where is the hot yellow ball? Drink bag I can't see it here, it's dark and cold. Shiny man seems lonely I should lick him I wonder if he has cookies I need to get the bag my green lady is hurt!
He snatched up the waterskin in his mouth and turned around to sprint back to his master. Unfortunately, it took him quite a while to make the trip to Sam, and then to the skin, so this post ends with him dangerously close to the wall.
((No RP is complete without including the stream-of-consciousness of a barely-sapient dinosaur. FACTS.))
((Edit: Holy horseapples, that was a lot more tl;dr than it looked in preview. I know everyone's taste in post length differs, but if that's too much let me know so I can adjust accordingly.))

The Ranger was backing away from the gronking, as it sounded closer to the danger. He was moving for a long time and could tell he was moving away from Tyval and whatever was attacking him. But he couldn't tell where he might be going. Moving backwards and blindly was not conducive to finding anything. Except maybe a fallen friend, which one could then trip on, falling backwards onto his arse. Dadj tumbled over Sam's sedate form, quickly scrambling to his feet and finding a non sentient wall behind him.
"Who was that?" He whispered to the darkness.

The wall noticed the speck that had brought itself so close almost instantly, and swung one of its swords down on it. The wall knew this little dinosaur could be a major problem if it was allowed to return to its master with that skin. And such a thing was inexcusable, lest Alphanus demolish the wall and use the stone for something else as punishment for failure.
((you have assumed correctly))
Impending doom - always a good thought. All around Tyval was now a bunch of swirling images and sounds he couldn't discern. Only thing he was aware of was that he was going to die, and he had pretty much resigned to that fate.
The squirrel? It was bravely charging towards the wall. Not that anyone cared about it.

"Dash? Is that you? Can't see. It's Sam. Poisoned and blind, and I took a pretty bad hit. Not lookin' good." She had trouble pronouncing his name, a quirk of her native accent combined with her exhaustion.
She motioned vaguely towards where she thought Tyval was - where she'd last seen him. "Tyval's up there somewhere. Mort too." She coughed, and felt more warmth running down her chin. "It's not lookin' good."
For everyone except Mort, that was. He dashed off just as the enormous blade hit the ground, missing him by mere centimeters. The force of the impact sent him sailing through the air, far faster than he could have ever run. He tumbled and bounced and rolled after coming back down, finally coming to rest just a few meters from where Sam and Dadj sat. The skin popped out of his mouth, and Sam heard it land with a soft pflop nearby.
Mort bounced up immediately, seemingly no worse off from his violent journey. He trotted over to Sam, his tail wagging happily. As soon as she heard him approach, she reached up and hugged his head close, tearing up. She could barely speak, but as Mort expressed his affection in the only way he knew how, she managed to say a few words.
"Good boy. Best friend."
