Amaya murmured her name.

"I'm Amaya, no last name, no middle."

Her mind filled with memories, memories of people bred for strength, with names made of numbers. Memories of a time when she had guidance, of a time she when could remember happiness. Amaya shook her head of these troublesome thoughts and noticed the mayor. Waving back she was alerted to the glimmer in the distance. Knights. Amaya made Siera land the passing the mayor, she got ready for them. After they formally greeted their higher up she questioned.

"Why have you come?"

Her eyes still filled with visions of a dark past, just to deep for the mortal eye.

"We bring summons from His Majesty, King Luther. He requests the presence of you, Siera, Dadj, and Akiro. Please stay close - a horde of fire demons was released upon the eruption of that volcano."

The knights motioned for the four specified to come forth. The horses appeared slightly spooked - justified by the fact that it suddenly got slightly warmer, and deep, growling, heavy breathing could be heard in the distance.

((Yes, a "boss battle" is just around the corner, against a fire demon.))

Amaya stood at a ready stance, she could feel the signs of her foe, and knew that they wouldn't escape in time.

Amaya drew her sword and raised her shield. With her experience with such creatures she ordered her companions not to attack. Metal will melt under the creature's flame. Siera attacked the beast for her fireproof scales were immune, but she would not be strong enough to concur it.. Amaya had grabbed her bag before the attack and began to pull out a rope that was made of very strong interwoven dragon hair, also fireproof and handed it to the knights.

"Tie up the beast! Mayor, tell the villagers to get water, NOW! Once the beast has been doused we'll have a clear shot to the heart."

All the townspeople gathered by the nearby lake and starting filling their CONVENIENTLY had buckets with water, and began splashing the demon. This removed it's flame shield and weakened it. Damage: 3,000.

Dadj stood around watching the heroics take place and fluidly removed his bow with a cocked arrow. He pulled back his string and instinctively aimed for the beasts heart.

Amaya motioned at Dadj to Siera and she understood, removing herself just as the shot was taken.

The demon was struck precisely in the heart, dealing a critical hit of 9,999 damage. The fire demon died slowly and painfully, and everyone was saved. Deep underground, Alphanus was quite irritated that his subordinate failed him. The former townspeople were quite relieved, and the knights were still shaken by the greater fire demon's appearance there, but soon recovered from the shock.

"I believe we should be off for the capital, then."

The knight in lead motioned for the other knights and those summoned to come with him.

Amaya jumped upon Siera's back and motioned her hand towards Dadj.

"It's either this or walking"

Siera snickered, awaiting his displeasure. But she could still feel the evil presence, and so could Amaya.

He sheathed his bow and reluctantly stepped toward the sneering dragon and her companion. He climbed onto the awkward perch he'd claimed earlier and sat in silence. He made the trip without much sound and his only movement was to steady himself when Siera made unnecessary and unforeseen movements.

Throughout the entire world, tension was mounting rapidly. The capital of the great kingdom was no exception, however it broke for a spell when Amaya, Dadj, and Siera arrived...however, the citizens were perplexed as to the fourth hero's absence. Nonetheless, cheers could be heard from every able-bodied man, woman, and child. The knight escort signaled them to continue towards the royal palace, where they would be brought up to speed and briefed.

Amaya entered the familiar palace, a second home if you will. Many times she was briefed here but she never saw the high priests in person. Their secrecy was great. Amaya entered a room with many chairs, a piano, and a stage. The room was used for entertainment and briefings. Siera had gone around and her head now enter threw a window. Amaya sat down at the piano and began to play, a favored pastime of her's. The song began slow but beautiful, like a summer day, then became fast and angered, beautiful from power, and then began to end with a bittersweet tune of loss. Escaping Amaya's notice, Dadj had been escorted within, soon after she began to play.

He sauntered in behind her keeping his distance between the guards escorting him. He carried himself stiffly, ill at ease in this kind of place. Authority had never sat well with him and his mind was wandering back to a long, long time ago when he'd been much younger and possibly on a different plane; it was hard to keep track of these things. But at that time he'd just evaded capture by a dragon-creature and wrecked half the capital.

Dadj noticed the music after his reverie ended and he was dumped back into this reality. He stared at Amaya's back wondering why she felt the need to start playing a song in the middle of these proceedings. It seemed rather out of place and his snort said so. Sweeping his gaze from her, he let his eyes wander the rest of the room, juuuust in case.

Dadj eyes her suspiciously and an amused grin curled his lips when the spread of emotions crossed her face. He'd finished his intake of the room and found his most favorable exit in a servant's door behind a tapestry on the wall. Standing at length made him less comfortable and he weighed his options to stay versus running. As he shifted to dart toward the hidden door, the chamber boomed in the voice announcing their host.

A full brass section began playing the royal fanfare, as the great King Luther, revered by all in his kingdom that spans nearly the entire world, was ushered into the room.

"All hail Great King Luther!"

The king stepped in, and towards his guests without delay. He wore a large vermilion robe, trimmed with gold, and a large gold crown encrusted with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires. He had a large, white, with a hint of gray, bushy handlebar moustache, and no beard. He appeared to be in his early sixties. He then initiated conversation with the four.

"It is no doubt a blessing that you could assemble here today. As you hopefully know by now, everything that exists in in mortal danger."
