This one is set in futuristic settings, something like 2150. The earth's surface suddenly begins to crack open, revealing a surge of terrible fire. The blue flame is very hot, capable of melting almost anything. Of course, lots of people die, and the ones that do survive now live on a damaged planet.
There is a boon, however, because when the earth opened there came a crystal/ice like substance, which was the only thing that couldn't be melted by the fire. Furthermore, this material appears to stay cool despite over 7000 degrees of heat. Scientists scrambled to create housing and accommodations from this new metal, which proved to be quite malleable. Now, even the lowest human dwellings lie at least 100 meters off the ground, what's left of civilization was rebuilt on tree like structures. The metal, now called isoldin, was finite, and therefore humanity needed answers.
After years of research, they managed to create a slick armor out of isoldin, which would protect their soldiers from the heat. The nations of the world had united, and sent their best soldiers down to the deep earth.
This was how mankind made a shocking discovery: we did not rule the earth alone.
Under the surface of the planet, there are species we’ve never seen before. They are at peace with the fire, and consume insoldin from the lower layers. The deeper we go, the creatures seem to become more intelligent. One can’t help but wonder what lies at the core. Why did the earth suddenly split open? How did they get in here, or have they always been here? There are too many questions, and we are the only ones to find the answer.
I suspect there will be lots of combat in this RP, so we may include dice rolls. Not everything will be solved with combat though, hopefully we'll be smooth or stealthy enough to avoid some fights. The player team will consist of different roles, such as combatants, medics, researchers, and whatever you guys want as long as it matches the mission. We might even end up bringing diplomats with us... There is no guarantee the deep dwellers won't see our expedition as an invasion, and decide to attack us on the surface, anything can happen.
Looking for around 5 players for this. I do not want one liners in this RP, as they don't bring anything to the table. Around ~2 paragraphs per post is a nice length. I understand dialogue scenes may be shorter, but still should be around a paragraph.

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
Further future, perhaps visit mars or upload your brain
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
Details: Occasional dice use, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred.
