Hi would anyone be interested in a Fantasy game as discribed below
The Seven Noble Elven houses are locked in a bloody cold war. Sending their Hunters to eliminate key members of their rivals. Their warriors raid distant outposts to test resolve.
The Stalemate has lasted for generations ever since the schism. With countless lives lost and no sign of any of the Houses gaining the upper hand the Ri Ruirech of the Houses all know in their hearts that the only real hope for victory lies with finding allies outside of Elvenkind. So they send out emissaries to the lesser races. They majority of these come to the Human ruled city of Nexus.
Play will start and be centered round the great forum of Nexus where representatives of all Humanoid races meet to make deals of all sorts. Players can be of any race of Human power level.
World details
Nexus is so name because it sits on the junction of three trade routes. There's a road which runs north and south connecting two great human civilizations. to the west is a sea which is about the size of the Mediterranean. to the east is a great river which leads to other civilizations. It is based on Istanbul . to the east is arid near desert turning into desert as you head further east.
Non-human races
Elves - Split between seven feuding houses whose lands to the south and west of Nexus. All adult elves have two tattoos. The one on their stomach represents their house and the one on their chest is the role. As they gain rank in their profession they gain tattoos below their eye.
Dwarves - Live in cities carved into the rock of the desert to the east of Nexus. pretty much standard Dwarths.
Gnomes - In habit a archipelago in the western sea. Fine jewelers, clock makers and inventors.
Halflings - Live in the lands to the north of the western sea. famed for their food and fashion.
But feel free to make a charater of any race you feel like as long as its on about the same power level as a human.
Magic
Elves magic is influence by their house and in DnD terms tend to be wizards.
Human magic tends not to be codified so they tend to be sorcerers and warlocks.
Dwarves don't have spell casters but they produce magical artifacts.
Halflings tend to be hedge wizards or sorcerers
Gnomes have no magic but rely on science instead.
The Tech level is generally Renaissance with the gnomes being a bit more advanced.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Renaissance
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
Details: Occasional dice use, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.
This sounds pretty amazing to me. So were you imagining it would at least start more diplomacy based then, rather than jumping into battles and action? My immediate thought when I first started reading your description was my player Moriah, though at present she's Fae I could easily adjust her to being human just fine.
Fae is OK as long as they are of about the same power level as a human. You're right I'm seeing this as more political than combat.

Okay, perfect. And yeah, she's pretty close to a human sort of power level, and is far better with words than weapons.

I can think of no reason why not.
Right I've started a tread here but I'm going to leave this open see if anyone else wants to join.

If still open I be interested in joining, I have a half giant character who would work as just a human for most standards.

So they're like nine foot tall?
Any way sure but looks like they will to tower over everyone else.
