"Yes. I'm not a mortal... Not in the same sense you are. I'm the mortal counterpart of the god Anubis, protected of the dead. I'm a fugitive now though," he pressed the flask into her hands, "Drink."

Zoey appeared behind them and collapsed from dehidration. She lay behind them unconsious.

Nomti whirled around to face Zoey, and upon seeing it was another girl, also dehydrated, clearly, he took the flask back and rolled Zoey onto her back and began filtering water into her mouth.

Lydrea let it all sink in. Anubis... mortal part... she shook her head. Lydrea didn't really mention to process all that info, so she closed her eyes and checked her magic. "Here, let me help." Lydrea placed her hand on Zoey's head and sent a healing wave through her, sweeping away all dehydrated spots in her body. "That should do the trick. She sat down again, exhausted by the sudden use of magic.

Zoey opened her eye's and saw the two creatures looming over her "What the-" Zoey jumped back obviouslt scared and confused.

"You're dehydrated. Drink," Nomti said and held her head up with one hand, pouring more water slowly into her mouth.

Lydrea shook her head. "I swept away her dehydration." she looked at Nomti. "And before you ask, yeah I was doing it to myself for three full days, yet my magic was almost dried out doing so. Your water just restored it."

"I wasn't going to ask..." he said quietly, looking at her indifferently.

Lydrea just looked away awkwardly for a while. She then looked at Zoey. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright just a bit confused. Who are you again?" Zoey asked sitting up.

Lydrea smiled at the girl. "I'm Lydrea," she said. "Who are you?"

"Zoey, Shadow warrior wolf." Zoey smiled at her

That explanation didn't tell Lydrea anything more about the girl. "What's that?"

"Well it pretty much means that my dad was a shadow warrior, I really don't know much about that except that we have shadow forms and are able to protect the ones we love. And my mother was a demon wolf, I have a wolf form aswell." Zoey sighed "It can get confusing."

Nomti sat and listened intently, absentmindedly dragging a finger through the sand as he listened. He had nothing to contribute to the conversation and so remained silent.

"Oh, and who are you?" Zoey directed the question at Nomti.

"Nomti. Former servant of Anubis, guardian of the dead," he said quickly and and bluntly. "I'm currently a fugitive from my 99 brothers, my fellow Anubites, due to less than honorable actions on the field of battle."

"That's pretty cool, oh and thanks for the water."

He nodded silently, not thinking it was cool at all though.

" I guess you don't rlly like that do you?"
