"I'm being hunted down by 99 others like me. No, I don't. I'm a Fugitive," he said again.
"Sorry I didn't mean to upset you." Zoey said looking away from him.
"You didn't upset me. You simply need to pay attention," he shrugged and looked around, sniffing the air, his ears twitching.
"I do pay attention." Zoey said defensivly.
Lydrea felt tensions build, and it was about time she changed subjects.
"Any idea on what we can do? we can't really stay here, can we?"
"Any idea on what we can do? we can't really stay here, can we?"
"No. No doubt my brothers will be here soon... If we're going to get help, we'll need to find Bast. Or Sekhemet, the cat goddesses," he said and stood up to his full height of around 6'6"
"You two are free to come with me, but I don't recommend it."
"You two are free to come with me, but I don't recommend it."
Lydrea sighed. "I don't have anywhere else to go, so I'll just tag along."
"Your funeral," Nomti said and looked to Zoey, "What about you?"
"I'll come, but I prefer to travel in my wolf form if that's okay with you."
"I don't care what you travel as. You both can defend yourselves, right?" He looked to each of them then down at the sand below his paws, whic was beginning to swirl unnaturally, "Let's go. Now."
"I'll have to see... I can't control my magic."
Zoey turned into her shadow wolf form "I can defend myself just fine, I control death." Zoey said her voice slightly deeper.
Nomti looked at Zoey cautiously, not quite believing her... Not at all. Osiris was the god of death, Anubis his assistant. Unless this girl was a daughter of Osiris, she was no controller of death.
"Well, let's go. My brothers are coming. They'll be here very soon, just look at the sand," he pointed at te ground beneath them. The sand was in fact swirling and twisting below them, and the sound of snarls could be heard in the distance.
Nomti simply assumed Lydrea wasn't all too fast and scooped her up and began running the opposite direction of the snarls.

Lydrea's eyes went wide in surprise when Nomti scooped her up. "What the-"
"I don't feel like waiting to die. You're simply human. You'd be caught in a few seconds," Nomti said bluntly as he sprinted, the sand becoming solid for a moment beneath his feet-paws and allowing him to move obscenely fast.
Lydrea just nodded and let him carry her. She felt pretty useless, but she was sure she could be of use in the future.
Nomti sprinted as fast as he could and it wasn't too long before the other Anubites could no longer be heard.
The jackal set Lydrea down and arched his back, barely breathing heavily at all but very tired looking, "Ehat is the thing you are most afraid of?" he asked rather suddenly.

Zoey came up behind them and lay down beside Lydrea panting heavily.
Lydrea looked up at Nomti. "Why do you ask?"
"Anubites feed off of fear," he said in reply, "I'm tired. I need energy. Just think of the scariest possible thing you can imagine, imagine that happening to yourself or someone you care about. I'll feed off the fear and it will go away."
