The evening had proved to be a good one. The weather was temperate. Not too warm, not to cold. It was a bit overcast but there was no wind, and it didn't seem likely to rain. Rebecca couldn't have asked for better running weather. She's already done a run, a warm up, if you will, at a nearly park. Her theory being that if she started simple, and increased gradually, she would be less likely to get hurt. It worked too, for the most part. It has been a year since her last bad wipe out.

Currently she was laid out on the roof of the school accompanying the park, catching her breath, taking a small rest, having a smoke. She was down to her last one too. Bummer, she wondered if she could convince her brother to get her some more that night, likely she'd have to wait until the next day though. Pansy didn't like to drive at night.

She was enjoying the solitude of the night, no one was around to yell at her, or tell her how dumb she was. It was just her, and a wealth of buildings and other fun objects, abandoned for the night. It was a feeling Rebecca was more then a little addicted to.

Dave ran up the high wall and took hold of the ledge above. Jumping upwards, he grabbed the next one and pulled himself up. He skimmied sidewards over a small ledge to the next balcony, quickly vaulting over its railing. "Man I love this school!" he said to himself. He ran up the first set of fire stairs and quickly placed both his hands on the railing, pulling his legs up and moving them in between his arms. This launched him forward to another overhanging balcony before him. He climbed up and there he was, on the roof. He looked up at the stars. It was a clear sky and there wasn't many lighting around, so he could really see a lot of them from here. He started walking over the roof.

Only then did he see the girl laid out on the roof. he hadn't seen her before due to the darkness, but he could definately see her now that he got closer.
"Hello there," he said softly.

Rebecca had been startled when he spoke. She jumped noticeably into a sitting position, her eyes wide for a moment. She'd been deep in thought, hadn't heard him coming at all. Nearly dropped her cigarette too. Thankfully she hadn't, it was her last one, and she would have been liable to push him off the roof for an infraction like that. Well, maybe not...but she'd daydream about it.

"Err..Hi." She said after a moment, taking another drag, a squinting to see him in the darkness.

Dave sat down next to her. "Are you a runner too?"

Rebecca took the last drag of her smoke, and butted it out on the roof beside her. "I guess that depends on whether or not you're going to judge me with your next sentence." Yeah, she was a little confrontational, who could blame her though, she dealt with a lot of judgement daily.

"Why would I judge you? I only just met you, there's no point." he looked at the stars again.

"Doesn't usually deter people that much." She got to her feet. "good night for it, no?"

"Yeah," he said. "Good Night for a nice run."

"Well, catch you later." She said to him, eager to get back on the move. She didn't really wait to see what he had to say in return, simply launched herself over the edge, hoping window ledges to the ground. She did it with ease, though, perhaps with a little more flare then she normally would have. It was rare she had someone to show off for.

Dave saw an opportunity here, and he never let one go when he saw one. He smiled and started to follow her, fluently following the path she had chosen downward.

Rebecca was not aware that he was following her, and headed towards the industrial side of town, vaulting a parked car as she went. When she reached the area she'd been searching out, it was up some scaffolding and in the window of an abandoned building. It was construction site, totally illegal, but there was no one around to enforce it. She would run right through and launch herself through another window onto a balcony, she would drop to levels, and then scale some scaffolding from there, right up to the roof of the building.

Taking a deep breath, she launched herself from that roof, to the one parallel to it. She rolled on impact, and let herself stop, laid out on her back again on the roof of that building, breathing hard, and laughing.

Dave, who had been following her, suddenly landed beside her. "Not bad!" He said.

Rebecca was startled for the second time by the man next to her. Her eyes shot immediately towards him, this time she didn't bother getting up. taking a moment to catch her breath before she conversed with him.

"..Yeah?... you normally follow girls two minutes after meeting them?"

"Nope, but I normally follow a tracer when I see one."

She shrugged and looked up at the clearly visible starts. "So how long have you been doing this?" She said after a moment.

"Seven years." He said. "What about you?"

"About three...I was doing gymnastics pretty heavily before that though." She sat up after a moment, propping herself up with one hand.

"A gymnast?" he looked up. "That explains why your style is so fluent."

She slipped her hand into her pocket, searching out a cigarette, out of habit. That's right, she was out. Lame.

"Thanks... do you do this circuit often? How come I haven't run into you before?"
