Altair smiled softly. "Your mother is a wise woman. Please, feel free to help yourself to any of the books. They should mostly have normal text on them as well as my braille." He would open his own book again and go back to reading it, his fingers moving along the pages.
Isis nodded before going back to reading the titles. She pulled out a book that wasn't very big or small.
Altair just read his own book, then when he he was done he closed it and got to his feet. He let Isis be, then made his way to the kitchen to find himself a snack. He was able to do so kind of easily, because...well, because he was just that good. He'd been living in the house for a long time. He could usually fetch himself a snack.
Isis sat in one of the chairs and started to read. Once and a while, her ears twitched. She kept on reading. She was reading a bit slow, wanting to make sure she didn't miss a word.
The evening passed, and soon the chef was calling them for dinner! Altair looked up from the book he was reading, lifting his head to listen tot he sounds the chef was making. "Yes, it does seem like dinner is prepared. Come, Isis. It's time to take a break to eat." He got to his feet and held out his hand. "Lead me to the dining room, will you?" He could get there perfectly well on his own, but he wanted her to get used to leading him since she would have to do it whenever they went out somewhere.
Isis put the book she was looking at back in the exact same place she found it before going over to Altair. She gently took his hand and led him to the dining room, being very careful not to let him bump into anything.
Altair was pleased that she was so good with leading him around. He sat down at his seat and had her sit beside him. "Please, help yourself to whatever you like." His plate had already been filled with what was on the table, but hers was empty to let her choose whatever she liked.
Isis took a small portion of everything, not hungry but not wanting to seem rude.
Altair just ate his food, letting her eat what she wanted, in silence. Then when he was done, he got to his feet. "If you are ready, Isis, would you please escort me to my room? It is time for me to get some rest. You are allowed to stay up another hour or so, if you wish to."
Isis nodded. She had just finished so she stood up. She gently took his hand and carefully led him upstairs to his room.
Altair smiled a little, and once he was at his door he paused. "Thank you, Isis. Goodnight." He kissed her hand gently, then let her go and went into his room to get ready for bed. One would think it was hard for him to change and such, but a lifetime of this made him quite used to it.
