Mia looked worriedly at Laine as he approached and lightly nuzzled Esmee as the griffins did their part in the battle, carrying of the enemy soldiers and dropping them then returning for more.
"I was. But I needed to be back out here again." She still knelt on the ground, her knees scrapped from the impact. "Dexter is...busy right now, he will be joining us shortly." Arrows rained down around all of them. One missed her thigh, but had went through some of her skirt fabric. Pinning her there. Soon she would have no choice but give in to the dark blood in her. It was more suited for this. She didn't have to worry about being confused with the others. She had a white mark on her forehead. "I may have to change soon..."
Mia tore that portion of the skirt off without a second thought and scooped Esmee up by pushing her head between her legs and making the girl slide to her shoulders. She did the same to Laine and took off, flying back towards the castle.
The man turned, his arm swinging and knocking a burst of arrows away from the fleeing group. Then he hurried after them, his clock flowing behind his form.
There was so much information to be taken in. All six races are so different, they can be categorized as different species. Their powers to control the elements and to flourish in them are inlaid and brought about through evolution. Dexter found this fascinating, to gain manipulation of the elements through evolution was never heard of in his world.
He got the lay of the land, the characteristics of all the races and some of their weaknesses. He was even able to get the history of this world and the history of of the present war. A war brought about by foolish pride of one race who believes they are better than everyone else...

When the last of the floating words entered his head, the spell stopped abruptly dropping Dexter to the ground. Having done this many times, he was ready for it, landing on his feet and quickly kneeling down before the dizziness he always felt after the spell got the better of him. His eyes fluttered uncontrollably as the information began to sink in and take root in his memories.
He stayed like that for another minute before he forced himself up with unsteady legs. He checked his hands, there was an angry red scar that ran across each palm, but there was no blood. There wasn't even any blood on the floor, nor was the circle diagram for that matter.
He walked towards the door, slowly getting his strength back and un-holstered the revolver on his back. He needed a little something to scare away the Dark Army outside, even if just for awhile so he could assess the situation. He did dearly wish he had a stronger firearm so he can cast more potent magic through but again he has to work with what he has.
He mutters some words under his breath and metallic clinking could be heard from inside the revolver as bullets started to materialize in its chambers. He scanned each window he passed, to see if he could catch the sight of the fight.
It took him awhile but he finally found it, and there was a collapsed wall where enemy soldiers were slow making their way in... and Esmee standing right in the front.
Dexter cursed under his breath, he knew that there would be a breach of the wall from that explosion but for an entire section of the wall to come down was going to make defending the castle difficult.
Dexter raised his gun aiming it into the sky and fired four shots. The shot rocketed high into the air and after a short pause, flared up with bright light like the morning sun. The light dissipated any shadows and bathed the entire area with light, exposing all who would use the darkness to their advantage.
To slow the progress through the wall, aimed the gun at the breach, making sure to give Esmee a wide berth and began to mutter again. He fired twice, and this time two large fireballs came out of the gun and flew towards the breach. When they hit the ground, the fireballs exploded and formed a wall of fire and covered the breach.
The spells, however, are temporary. Dexter has to come up with a few other plans to deal with the army and the breach. But for now, he just needs to get himself to the battlefield.

Many of the griffins had been fought off by now. There were still over 200 but it had hurt their moral and they started going and grabbing rocks and then dropping them from up high.

Finally reaching the ground floor, Dexter was welcomed by a charging Dark soldier the moment he opened the door. Without even batting an eyelid or missing a step, he shot the man in the foot sending the man rolling on the ground in pain. As he passed the incapacitated soldier, he shot the ground beside him and continued walking towards the breached wall.
Moments later, a small rumble came about and a large fist made of stone came shooting out of the ground, slamming hard into the soldier's gut and sending him hurtling into the sky and over the wall. He watches the fight with an amount of disbelief. Why were they leading a group of soldiers into the castle?

The cloaked one heard the plan, his eyes narrowing. His looked around quickly, then growled. Running to a bunch of rocks that were laying around, he took a stance. One foot forwards, the other behind and slanted to the side. His arms were before his face, crossing one another. All of a sudden, the air was still, for a split second, then he slashed his arms down, and the wind struck the rocks, sending a wave of them into the breach, effectively sealing him out.
Tiberus had followed Dexter out and would have readily torn both soldiers in half but was surprised at the "magic" of the revolver, which in his mind was some sort of small thunder staff. Even still, the older griffin's curiosity piqued, he nodded and screeched loudly, relaying the message.

Esmee saw the plan and smiled at Dexter then nodded her approval. Seeing how his action cause the others to follow suit. This is what they needed. A plan that could work and make hope. She did what the stranger had, only slightly different. Using her abilities to lift some of the heavy rocks and using them to block the passage while using the smaller rocks as throwing stones. It did some damage, take out some of the small army. They were almost done with taking them out, which concerned her. Why was it so easy?
Dexter noticed the look Esmee had when he approached her. Something was off and that fact was not lost on Dexter either. If such a large opening in the castle defense wall came about, it should be overwhelmed with enemy soldiers. So why is this one not?
Dexter's eyes widened, this was a diversion. Something was not right.
"Tiberus!" Dexter roared loudly in Griffin so Tiberus and his flock could hear him, "Take a handful of your fastest Griffins and circle the castle grounds. Do it now while the light of my spell is still strong."
He turns to Esmee next, "Squawk! Roar! Squawk!" Dexter quickly cleared his throat, "I mean, Lady Esmee, you need to get inside the castle and alert the royal guards! Get a contingent and yourself to be at the King's side at all times and get the rest to make a sweep of the castle interior."
He pulled off his suit jacket, loosened his tie and unbuttoned the two top buttons as he waved for the attention of a group of passing Wind Soldiers. "You few! Go up the walls and tell the rest to be on their guard. Especially on the wall opposite this one... Also, tell the guards to stay away from this wall till I give the signal that I have completed repairing it."
The soldiers looked around in confusion alternating their gaze between Dexter and Esmee, but before anyone else can say anything Dexter roared loudly, "Are you waiting for an invitation!? GO! GO! GO!"
That sent the soldiers scurrying about to complete their orders.

Esmee had started to turn slightly, wolvish features slowly taking over as her speed increased. As she went into the castle she was piled on by several of the dark army. One of her servants heard her and tried to help by beating them with a stick, but it was like a fly to a horse and they didn't stop holding her down. Finally she couldn't hold at bay the transformation any longer, growing taller in height and a bit more furrier. Her fur a blackish blonde and her eyes slitted. Fangs grew along with the small muzzle she had. With another roar she flung them off one by one.

Laine, looked at Dexter for a short while. "I'll go gather my men. They're fighting and moving style is similar to mine, light, quick and agile. You better figure out something we can do when we get back." With those words, he ran off to his squad's hq.
Dexter sighs as he looks at the task at hand. He had to rebuild an entire walls, 40 meters tall, 10 meters thick and about 30 meters long. It was going to be tiring.
"well, at least I'm using spells I'm good at now." He mutters as he tosses his jacket aside. He closes his eyes, putting himself deep in concentration. When he opened his eyes, they shone bright and intensely, very different from the glow in the library.
Two Dark soldiers had broken free from the fight and charged Dexter, but the wall of fire that blocked the hole suddenly came to life and burnt intensely. Like great giant snakes, they slithered through the ground with great speed and encircled Dexter in a ring of fire and consuming the two soldiers in flames, burning them to cinders instantly.
Dexter began to float up in the air again but this time, just a few centimetres off the ground, and he raised his hands above him spread wide and away from him.
"Stones of the Earth, Come to me! Answer my heed to create wonders worthy of praise!"
With that, the giant pile of rocks seemed to jump to life, floating in the air. Dexter then clenches his fist, making all the rock gather in front of him. He gritted his teeth, applying more pressure into his clenched fist, and the stones started to press in on each other decreasing the size with every large cracking sound.
He then clenched both fist together and squeezed, his brow furrowed in exertion as huge drops of sweat trickled down his body. With that action, the stone crushed itself even further becoming smaller and smaller, but at the same time the ball of rock started to glow a deep orange as it got hotter and hotter.
Dexter then seperated his hands and made twoisting motions with them, like kneading dough between his hands, and the ball of stone twist and turned, growing brighter and brighter. Hotter and hotter.
Only a minute had passed and Dexter, covered in sweat, stood before a giant ball of molten rock the size of a large house. Blood started trickling down his nose and he panted heavily from the exertion this was to his body. Many people had stopped their fighting, staring in horror at the giant ball of larva.
Dexter took a moment to catch his breath, creating something this size quickly was not easy and it was taking a toll on his body, but with a deep breath, he continued on. Sifting his hands about like a dance, making the hot liquid rock disperse in tendrils of glowing orange, making their way to the gap in the wall. Some of the enemy soldiers were trying to get through the wall but stopped short when they saw the large tendrils. Dexter did not stop, but looks at them with great seriousness... and simply said,
"You will make a good addition to this wall." And the tendrils slammed on the ground with an explosive rain of larva. It was fortunate that the soldiers did not suffer, evident when their screams get cut off abruptly as the larva fell on them.
The molten rock tendrils fell upon each other, but instead of splashing onto the ground like a puddle, they began to form a cohesive shape. As they piled on top of each other, the shape grew taller, connecting itself to both sides of the broken wall.
Just a minute later, as the last of the tendrils layered itself, the great glowing red wall now stood before Dexter who was still sifting his hands about, smoothing the wall and forming a battlement above before the wall cooled. When it finally did, a large obsidian wall stood where that old weak wall was, preventing further enemies from entering.
But Dexter was not in good shape, blood seemed to run freely from his nose, eyes and mouth. Even his fingernails were bleeding. He settled back onto the ground but he could not catch his footing and tumbled to the ground, panting heavily and his eyes dazed and unfocused.
He looks up and see dark shapes quickly approaching him. His eyes were to unfocused to tell, but judging from the shape, it would be enemies.
"Oh dear..." was all he said as the Dark soldiers were quickly closing the distance.

Mia didn't wait for Esmee to take action and gently picked Dexter up in Her front talons and clawed softly at Esmee before taking off. She brought him back to the castle and into the throne room where she set him on the ground and began licking his wounds clean.
She would have preferred herself to take him to the castle if only to keep him from moving too much and causing him anymore pain. Mia, always quick with her actions, beat her to the punch and took him away. Turning to look at the wall that he had injured himself with and deciding that even though it was well built that she would not allow him to do such damage to himself again for such a small matter as that.
Roaming through the dead bodies to make sure that they were in fact dead, she began to throw them back over the wall. In her present stature it wasn't at all that hard to do since her strength had doubled. What was left of the army had either retreated or died a slow death. They would need to search the kingdom to make absolutely sure that none had made there way in without notice.
For now she headed slowly back towards the castle doors, shedding off the wolven form. When she came into the room in which Mia was taking care of Dexter she closed the doors behind her. Then went to fetch a rag and warm water and requested a feast for the griffins and the people who helped. They were finally starting realize what they were capable of.
"Thank you Mia." She rubbed the griffin's head then dunked the rag in the warm liquid. "And thank you Dexter." She rung it out and helped clean his face up. Though she didn't show much emotion, her heart was full of gratitude. "Though you saved our kingdom by brushing death I would ask you not to push yourself that hard again." With that a small smile touch her mouth. The air in the room became warmer and more tranquil giving a more relaxing effect.
A change of clothes was set outside the door as she had requested a few minutes later so that when he was capable, he could change. There was a bath full of steaming water in the connected room. If he didn't get in it soon it would be reheated for him again.
