Rebecca walked with him. She took a plate. The buffet were stuffed with delicious christmas goodies. On her plate were ham, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a bunch of gravy. Then she took her plate over to the table, that they chose before.

Carden got himself some ham with brown sugar on top. He also had some mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, and a Christmas cookie for the both of them.

"Have your parents send you a present? Mine send me a bottle of love elixir, you?" She signaled, then stuffed a big piece of ham in her mouth.

Carden got sad. His dad didn’t know where he was and his mom died because of his dad. He shook his head with a sad look on his face.

Rebecca began to gasp for air. She held both her hands on her throat, trying to push something up. She was choking.

Carden moving quickly made his way to her soon made her cough up a piece of food. He then grabbed his tray and went to the table that was behind both of them.

"Thanks" She spoke with her hands. Her play with death had caught the attendtion of the whole dining hall. She blushed.

Carden took a breath.”I can’t keep saving your life like my mom did with me.” He mumbled.

"Wanna go outside and look at the stars?" She asked with her hands.

“Not now ok?” He said. He was very bothered by anyone that asked about his family.

"Ok then" She finished her food, then walked outside. She looked at the stars blinking on the nightsky like diamonds. Her magical melody began playing. It was a new one, with a tune that made the sky cry.

Carden sighed. He had so many bad things that happened in his past that he needed to tell someone about his past. Or sometimes he thought.

The stars began to blink more rapidly. This wasn't natural, it must be a creature.

Carden walked out to Becca.”Becca? I have something to tell you.” He said walking to where she was.

She nodded.

“First off do you want to hear about my past?” He asked her not knowing if she was interested.

She nodded

He sighed.”If I cry don’t worry at all.” He said closing his eyes.”Well I was a happy little boy. I was going to be an older brother. My mother didn’t look pregnant but told me she was. One day my dad came home and was grumpy. He treated me kind of bad after that. Then something made him burst. He turned into a big scary monster. My mom grabbed me and ran off. She hid me in a bush. She said goodbye to me. She ran of but not to far. I watched not able to do anything to stop my dad from killing her.” He sighed.”That’s it.” He said tears in his eyes.

She held him tightly in her arms. A large shadow blocked the moonlight and the nightsky.

Carden noticed the shadow. It was a human shadow. Slowly he turned around and saw his dad standing there.”Dad?!” He said so surprised.”Hello Carden. I’m ready to kill you. Are you ready to die?” his dad asked. Carden pushed Becca behind him with one arm bringing the two of them back.
