Somewhere, isolated from civilization, is a lab. It belongs to the government, and it's used to test things that could be either a threat or help to the country.
Today, multiple people of various ages were transported here. The thing is, they all have varying abilities, and the government wants to run tests and figure out how they work, why they work, and if they can be utilized for anything- or if these people should be locked away to avoid possible threats.
So play your cards right, and you might just be allowed to go home. But slip up too badly, and you'll never see your home again.

Jamie sits patiently in a waiting room in the lab. She was going to be tested on in a few minutes. She, along with the other people, were told they'd have some blood tests done. The waiting room was actually kind of nice, with decent chairs and sofas, and some displays with books and magazines.

Lupus sat in a chair in the far corner of the waiting room. He was bent over, his elbows resting on his knees with his hands hanging loosely. His messy white hair hung in his face, as the loose ponytail hung over his shoulder. His red eyes were closed. The young sixteen year old had a bad feeling on all of this. As he sat there, he opened his eyes to stare down at his pale hands. They said it was for the best, but he had a feeling things may go bad for him. His powers were more on the dark side, and he could easily be marked as a threat. Who ever heard of someone with dark powers that used them for good? That was his train of thought.
Earth was always a fickle subject for Kaa’Vel. Yes, he always wanted to visit, but a few things would stop him from doing so. For one, he was already terrifying to other aliens, because of his species’ rather ‘questionable’ reputation, and everywhere he went, there was always going to be those stares, and whispering about him--not that it bothered him much, but while other species from other galaxies were all different in their own way, and they had a rather easy time accepting their differences, humans, on the other hand, were not so accepting; at least, that’s what he had heard. Humans were scared of anything different and Kaa’Vel thought it was rather silly to think so. Sure, the unknown, you could be skeptical, but if there are constant signs that the different thing meant no harm, there was no reason to be scared.
Humans had a difficult time understanding that, even when Kaa’Vel did indeed come in peace. Maybe it was because Kaa’Vel stood at a rather ‘extraordinary’ height of 7’2”. Humans would only ever go up to 6’6”. It wasn’t his fault, that was his species’ normal height and humans were so puny.
….And now the humans wanted to test him to see if he was a threat to their race. If it were any other Daurrark, then they would all be dead right now; and that was a fact. They were lucky Kaa’Vel was so disinterested in violence, unlike the rest of his species, who were predators to a default.
But for now, Kaa’Vel would comply to their wishes, or at least until he got tired of it, and decided to leave; only then he could break out anytime he wanted.
He made his way to the waiting room, and upon entering, he scanned the interior. Most of the chairs were slightly under his size. Kaa’Vel decided he would sit on the floor. He gave the two others in the room a wayward glance before walking over, and plopping down on the floor.

Nova walked through the corridor toward the waiting room. After being pursued by scientists his whole life, he hated labs. He hated the colours, the staff and experiments. His sister had told him these people would help him but he was still wary. Scientists could be extremely cruel sometimes. He of all people knew that.
He opened the door to the waiting room and walked in. He looked around the room at the other people there. Looking around, most of the people were around his age (17) maybe slightly younger or older. He walked over to an empty seat and sat down, pulling his headphones over his ears.

Aliea lay on her bed in her and her brother Nova's flat. Deep in thought. One if her friends had told her about this lab and after a lot of discussing, she had convinced Nova to go. Now, looking back on it, she wasn't sure if it was a good idea.
James sat in the corner on one of the sofas, opposite of Lupus, as he looked around, he seemed to be one of the youngest people there, James looked like he was 13, but he still ended up in the waiting room all the same. Trying to keep calm, he started reading one of the various books, only to find that he was shaking, unable to read as uncertainty and worry crossed his mind. I guess this is what i get for using my magic in public. I was always warned about this, guess it was true. I just hope i can make it through this without breaking down, He thought to himself in an attempt to calm his nerves, but it didn't help.
Nova observed the others in the room. He noticed a boy trying to read but shaking terribly.
"Guess he's as nervous as me" Nova thinks. After sitting and listening to his music for a bit, he decided to go over and introduce himself. He pulled his headphones down around his neck and walked over to boy.
"Hey there" Nova said, trying to sound friendly.

He continued to try and read, abandoning the book as his gaze drifted to the approaching stranger. He quickly processed that the person was walking towards him, looking up as they spoke. He spoke quietly in reply, James' voice seeming to shake just like he was, "O-Oh... Uh... H-Hello there." He tried to act as politely as he could, but it was clear that he was worried.
Nova smiled and sat down next to him. "What're you here for?" He asks inquisitively.
Lupus thoughts were soon interrupted by the voices of others. He looked up, his red eyes focusing on the two. The white haired demon remained quiet though. One looked a few years younger then he, and the other looked to be about the same age. He couldn't help but give a soft scoff. They were from this world, he could tell that. It amazed him just how many people here had abilities.
"Me? W-well... I can create and control ice and wind... I think lightning too, but I haven't tried to yet." His voice trailed off into silence. He had never intentionally revealed his powers to anyone, not even his family, or what was left of his family, then again, not like anyone had asked him about it either. He looked at the person sitting next to him, easing up as he stopped shaking.
He held out his hand once he stopped shaking, "I'm James, and what about you, what are your powers?" He had a small smile on his face as he felt that he could open up, even if the person was a stranger.

"The name's Nova, pleased to meet you" he responds, shaking the James's hand. "I can turn into a wolf, my father had the same ability before he... never mind. I've been hunted down by scientists my whole life but my sister assures me these people are good."
"A wolf? That's pretty cool! And I hope your sister is right, I think it was just the lonlieness that was getting to me, I never really have felt lonely until earlier, when I was separated from my family. I think I'm the only one with powers in my family, but nevermind that." His voice trailed as his smile faded, reminiscing over his family before speaking again, "Thanks Nova, just for the conversation."
As Kaa'Vel sat there, he listened to the conversation between the two younger males in the room. He didn't look at them, though his antannae was twitching whilst he focused on their words. What he found intriguing, was that humans could have such interesting abilities. Though, if he had to be honest, he had never heard of a 'wolf' before. It guessed that it was probably some sort of Earth creature of sorts.
He stayed silent and continued to stare down at his four claws.

"No problem, I wouldn't be worried, I'm sure it'll be just fine" I say reassuringly. "Speaking of which, where are those scientists?" I look at my watch.
A scientist enters the waiting room. "Hello everyone, today we will be conducting a simple blood test. Please gather in a single file line and you will each be escorted to medical offices where a small amount of blood will be drawn. There will be multiple people per office."
Jamie scoffs. "What is this, kindergarten? Do we really have to be in line?"

Kaa'Vel stood up, and was about to comply silently, but he was interrupted by the voice of a somewhat rude young child; at least in his four eyes. For a moment he contemplated telling her off. But he eventually realized that it would be a waste of his time.
So he only shot her a quick glare, and headed in the line.

James let out a sigh as he stood up, fastening his cloak as he stood. He gave a nervous glance back to Nova before turning back to the scientist, walking forward to line up. He stood behind the large alien in the line, nervously adjusting his necklace as he normally did while waiting for something to happen. "I hope it's just a couple of tests and then I can get out of here." He mumbled to himself out of habit.
Lupus remained silent as the scientist entered the room, and suggested they entered a line to proceed. He did so. The white hair teen stood, standing at least six foot in height. A furry golden tail came into view as he stood, hanging low to the ground behind him. He then moved into line, crossing his arms behind his back. He would be glad to get this over with, hoping a blood test was all it was.
Nova stood up, his headphones hanging round his neck. He was quite annoyed, his sister had said these people would help, not perform tests on him. Nevertheless, he tried to act calm as he walked to the back of the line.
