Milliate clocked in to work in her usual getup. She sighed heavily. It would be quiet tonight. Christmas eve. Everyone had someone to celebrate with. And since Milliate wanted to earn money instead of sitting at home with her cat, Skittle, feeling sorry for herself. She restocked the shelves that had too little in them and stepped back. It was quiet. Well.. Not quite. There was christmas music playing from the speakers throughout the store. She finally reached her breaking point and turned off the awful christmas music she had been forced to listen to since late November, sighing with relief. She turned on something classical and calming, for a change.
As her shift went on, a few people came and went. Some people buying alcohol for parties. Some buying replacements for christmas dinner. She eventually found herself sitting by the cash register, doodling Skittle on the lap of Santa. Nobody had really said any words to her today. She wanted someone to talk to. This was getting lonely

Some magic. Few can use it, but most of the players probably won't have it. Magical characters will likely believe that they are all alone.
