"Two..." Austin took as deep of a breath as he could. "Three!"

At the count of three Wildner yanked the blade free from Austin's chest and quickly threw it aside. Everything went by quickly from there. "I'll need to remove your armor to bandage you up," he said, as he started removing his chest armor.

Austin screamed in pain as the knife was removed. The damage was minimal, considering he had been stomped on by a giant monster. He had a few fractured ribs, which were already being tended to. The main problem was the gaping wound now going through Austin's chest. His right lung was punctured, and shrapnel that had been bent in from Austin's armor was now embedded in his flesh. He didn't object to the armor being removed. "Damn it hurts..." Austin whimpered.

Amy looked at the wound with concern, it didn't look so great. She wondered if the Nanobots would be helping him at all. "We need to find him somewhere he can get medical attention." But where? The city had been destroyed, and they are wanted.

Wildner remained silent as he started treating Austin's wound to his best capabilities. Of course he posessed a first aid kit that was too advanced for this age, and that on itself was an advantage. He smeared some sort of cream onto the wound and wound a thick layer of linnen around his chest and back. The white contrasted heavily with the color of Austin's skin, adn it quickly turned red.

"That should hold it for now."

Austin was, from the stomach down still covered with armor. Mainly his upper torso was exposed. The cream didn't sting as much as he expected it to, and the cloth helped a lot as well.

Austin smirked at Amy's comment. "You think?" The wound still hurt like crazy, but the pain was slightly dulled by the cream, and the cloth. He stood up. "Let's see if we can use the bunker still. I need armor, otherwise I'm screwed." The boy looked Kenneth in the eye. "Sorry about freaking out.. The stress got to me. I wasn't thinking straight."

"It happens to the best of us." Wildner replied, as he stowed his med kit back into his backpack.

Amy would get to her feet as well when Austin did, and go back to Arrow's side. Are you feeling any better?

"I'm as fine as I can be." Austin's breath had an odd crackling-wheezing quality to it. "We need to get replacement armor for me before I can do anything else. I don't want to waste anymore time, however. Kenneth, can you cover me while I retrieve armor from our bunker? Amy, Arrow, you'll go onto prevent the next outbreak."

"You're not going anywhere right now." Wildner said as he pushed him down again. "The cream needs 12 hours to work in. If you really want to go out again, it'll have to be tomorrow at its earliest.

Amy look at Kenneth with exasperation. "You need to get him that armor, and to safety, whether you think it's smart for him to move or not. There are things crawling all over this place looking for us. Me and Arrow will go ahead, but staying here for 12 hours is not an option we have the luxury of!" They could fight without him, but sitting out there unprotected, even with Kenneth there to try and keep him safe, was suicide.

Wildner thought for a moment. "How far is this bunker, and is it in viewing range if I get on this hilltop?"

Austin sighed.

"It's in the city, underground. The city was destroyed, but the bunker should still be in tact. It's too far to see from the hill top, but it's not far."

At that moment, an inhuman screech/roar/scream could be heard. Something had caught their scent, and was moving their way fast. Presumably with friends. "Forget it. We go with Amy and Arrow. The automatic forcefield system should be enough to protect from weak attacks, but if anything tries to do serious damage, I'm taking cover."

Austin's helmet looked kind of funny without the body armor, but it was part of the central control system for the rest of the armor, which still functioned properly. The forcefield system was a last-resort defense, and wasn't often activated. It was effective when used properly, however.

Wildner sighed. "Very well." H reached into his backpack and retrieved an iron box. He opened it, and inside were parts of an assault rifle. He quickly put it together and reloaded it. "For close encounters," he said, and strapped it to his side.

Amy winced slightly at the loud roar, they'd been found, thankfully her moment of weakness was not noticed, as her helmet remained on. She looked around for a moment, reaching out with her mind, taking in everything she could, for an idea of where the thing was coming from, so they could depart in the opposite direction.

She also wondered if Arrow was still seeing things, and so, would grip his arm in her hand, so she could stop him, if he freaked out again.

The sound came from the direction of the destroyed city. Thousands of entities shared the same thoughts at once.

Replace life... Feed... Spread the Infection to the world...

The things were getting closer. Arrow had to focus himself to not shoot wildly. He was starting to see things again...

A plasma launcher appeared in Austin's right hand. Too much recoil could hurt his wound, and he didn't want to put the pressure of a gun butt into his shoulder right now. The plasma launcher did a good job of not having much recoil.

"Let's move."

Amy nodded, and pulled Arrow along in the direction that pointed away from the city.

Wildner walked out of their hide-out and looked around. Seeing as there was no cyborg in sight yet, he left his rifle strapped to his side and reached back for his Sniper Rifle, keeping it loosely in hand in case adversaries showed up.

The team moved swiftly. Arrow focused on not shooting things that weren't there. Austin tried to focus on anything but excruciating pain.

John focused on how to get rid of the team.

Austin suddenly stopped, taking a knee and holding up a fist. They were within city limits once more, but this one looked abandoned. Not utterly destroyed like the first one. Perfectly preserved. As if everyone had suddenly disappeared. "Something's not right here..." Swoosh. And then Austin was no longer standing in front of the group.

Arrow tried to wrestle out of Amy's grip. Pointing his free hand at possible locations for threats to be. The entire city was an eerie quiet. That was never a good thing.

Amy let go of Arrow, manifesting a weapon of her own, looking around with suspicion and terror. Where had Austin gone? What was going on here?! She listened now intently for anything that could explain this.
