Amy fell back on her most regularly used trick, that was, she incapacitated the monster with shrill, eardrum bursting noise. Focused directly on it, so as to make the thing drop in pain.

"Kenneth, we might not be able to do that."

The monster dropped and promptly shrank. Its tendrils melted into pools of blood, and the spikes and muscles retreated into his body. "Please! Make it stop!" Called out the man.

Austin looked at Amy in surprise.

"Please! Stop the noise! Ah!" The man gripped his head in pain and fell over, rolling around like a puppy.

This was something new.

"Kenneth, hold fire! We might have a civvie on our hands."

"Rog', holding fire." he didn't know what to think, so he just stayed tense, ready to shoot whenever nessecary.

Amy was so surprised by the reaction that she lost her concentration. The noise ceased. She looked over at Austin in shock. "Wh-what on earth?"

Austin was just as shocked as Amy was. "Keep your distance, and keep your weapons trained on him. I'm going to try and get close to him to calm him down. I'm not sure if he's still hostile."

Austin moved slowly toward the man who was still on the ground, gripping his head. "Hey. I'm Austin Rose from the SET Initiative. I'm here to help you, okay?"

Amy, what's happening in there? Arrow thought.

The man was still unresponsive, he just continued to lay on the ground. Seeing no immediate threat, Austin motioned for Amy to come help him out.

Wildner kept his gun aimed at the man's head, following its every move. "If you dare jump them..." he muttered.

I think we have a civilian.. She replied back to Arrow, as she moved closer on Austin's command. She crouched beside them. What the hell was going on?

The man uncovered his face for a second as he saw the two crouching next to him. Austin saw the look in his eyes just soon enough to jump across to tackle Amy out of the way. "Go!"

The supposed civilian reverted back to a beastly form just in time to skewer Austin through the chest with a spike. It stood up, letting him slide off of its arm. Its lips contorted into a sneer, and its voice rumbled from its throat.

"We're a lot more intelligent than you think. The Infection has helped us to become stronger, faster, and better than before. We are even impervious to psychological attacks, such as implantations of thoughts or manipulation of senses." The thing advanced on Amy. "We are enlightened. We will live forever, unlike you. You chose mortality."

Not a civilian. She scrambled away from the thing, but kept an eye open for a way to get to Austin, she manifested a weapon, but wouldn't use it just yet, knowing Kenneth's attack from above would likely be more surprising, and thus, less likely to be interfered with.

Wildner reacted immediately. his rifle could stop a tank, or bring one to a standstill for a short moment, and he wasn't going to pass up a chance to test it on a giant like this one. He shot three bullets, each of them a headshot. One even went straight through the beast's eyes.
"Amy, take Austin and get to a safe distance!"
He fired several more rounds in his chest, forcing the infected giant back. His shots started producing a bigger and bigger hole in his chest where his heart was. Once his scope finally locked onto it, he shot. The heart exploded and the monster fell backwards.
"Move it Amy, you never know with these things." He held his fire and zoomed out slightly, enough to keep an eye on both Amy, Austin and The (dead?) monster.

Amy ran over to Austin's side. She was really hoping he wasn't dead. Austin? Can you move?

The monster was forced backwards by the barrage of fire coming from Kenneth. The hole continued to open, gradually, but it appeared to be trying to close at a rapid pace. Eventually its heart exploded, causing the monster to fall.

Austin was unresponsive. Blood pooled from the hole in his chest, eventually overflowing into a puddle on the ground. He was barely alive, but it was unsure if they could get him medical treatment in time.

Arrow couldn't help at the moment because he was dealing with another Infected. "Kenneth, I need supporting fire to help me get these civilians out of here safely!"

Amy swore and dropped to her knees beside him, trying to stem the bleeding. Austin needs an evac, immediately!

"Please don't die on us." She would say to Austin, as she used her own hands to stem the flow of blood as much as possible.

Wildner took out his radio and called their specially assigned air unit. "Valkyrie 5, this is ghost 1. We need immediate evac at sector 2. One person down, heavily wounded! how copy?"
"Solid copy, ghost 1. Valkyrie 5 en route, ETA two minutes. Valkyrie out.
Wildner shifted his aim towards Arrow, where several smaller infected were starting to swarm the escping civilians. "Amy, I'm shifting fire to Arrow. Evac'll be there in 2 minutes."

He started shooting, hitting several infected full in the face. They were thrown backwards several meters, but died before they hit the ground.

Arrow continued to evacuate people to the perimeter. "Alright Kenneth, that's the last of them."

Austin regained consciousness, and coughed.

"Hey..."

Amy was actually surprised to find that he'd regained consciousness. She looked up with utter relief, though she was wearing a helmet, so he couldn't see it.

"Evac is on it's way, You'll be okay." She hoped.

Wildner heard Austin speak through his comms set. "Amy, how's he doing?"

Austin's vitals would be seen in a readout in Amy's visor. His heartbeat was rapid, and his breathing was forced. The loss of blood wasn't helping anything, either.

Amy had managaed to stem much of the blood flow for the time being, bit it was impossible to stop all of it with all of it, with such a large wound. He's not great.

" Hey Austin are you with me? Try to stay conscious if you can.."

"I can..." Austin coughed again. "Damn, stabbed twice in the same year. Go figure." He was trying his best to stay calm for his team's sake, although he was really panicking on the inside.

"How far away did you say that evac was?"
