This thing's senses were keener than previously perceived. Perhaps that intermingled with its using Austin's brain to access the armor's HUD, AI, Computer, and Tactical Analysis programs might have something to do with it.

Hrm...
Well, now that you mention it, I am noticing some powerplay on your end. Thanks for bringing it up. I think I tried to ignore it so that we could continue. (I generally tend to dislike and avoid it when someone tells me what my character does. ) Can we just continue as if Austin doesn't fall to the ground?

What idiots. Don't they know they'll all become like me eventually?
No, they won't! I won't let it happen?
Why? What the hell have they ever done for me? I signed up to kill stuff, to prove myself. So now I'm doing it.
I signed up to help people, and to resolve a threat to potentially all of mankind. Proving myself isn't going to happen by killing all of my teammates. It would be wrong to betray them after all we've been through.
Like what? Jack's suicide? Or Red's sudden, bloody end? Or how about the two attacks that nearly ended my life and Kenneth's? It's time to join the winning side.
NO! I refuse to give up! I am not giving up on the team when they need as much help as they can get!
To hell with the team! They'll all be happy when they've been turned into the ultimate beings they truly deserve to be!
Like those freaks we fought back in Canada?
Austin's mental debate raged on as he alternated between retreating and lashing out. There were a few openings in the armor where blood spikes smashed through but were retracted due to Austin's fight for control. If Kenneth could hit one of those openings...

Arrow shook his head and stood up once more. I'll draw his attention, Kenneth! You just focus on getting a way to hit him with that thing! His thought translator spoke out through the comm system.
He jumped and tried to tackle Austin, firing lasers that didn't do much against the armor andlashing out with all the physical force he had. He ran circles around Austin to draw attacks.

Arrow had, in fact, tired Austin out enough to slow him down.
This time, Kenneth should be able to get the shot in. There was a crack in the armor near the small of Austin's back. That should be the spot to hit.

Arrow was eventually thrown into a wall, having held Austin back for so long without a successful shot being sent in from Kenneth.
Why was he hesitating?
Austin roared again, and surveyed the damage he had done. Many SET Operatives were badly wounded, Arrow included. Amy was most likely mentally shaken, and, going by the looks of things, Kenneth was thrown off as well. Missing the first time, and then freezing up back to back? It just went to prove that this work did take its toll on the psychological strength of the Operatives.
Austin was somehow able to overcome his inner monster, miraculously, and broke free. The Infection still existed within him, but at least he was back to normal- For now.
The armor, now cracked and drenched in blood, dematerialized to reveal an even bloodier Austin, kneeling and coughing, and gasping for air.
"Did... Did I hurt anyone?"

AMy honestly wasn't sure what she should do, she wasn't as good a shot as Kenneth, and so had waited, somewhat shaken by the happenings around her. She snapped too when Arrow was flung aside, badly injured. She ran to try and help him, instinctively. Arrow?!
As she ran for Arrow, the chaos ended, covered in blood and looking a little worse for wear, but more or less himself again was Austin. "Are you okay?" She called over, cautiously, still at Arrows side for a moment. She didn't exactly answer his question.

Everyone was looking at Austin like he was some kind of monster- Not an inaccurate depiction of him, really.
He looked up from his hunched over position to look at everything that happened. There were multiple Arrow-sized dents in the floor and walls, there was a small fire, there were many wounded Operatives who were hurt from Austin's lash attacks, and Amy was looking at him, holding Arrow as if he was a threat.
"No. I'm not... I feel sick. I want to die. I'm... I'm sorry." He stood up, and coughed once more, glancing around, before running back into his dorm, and jumping through the window. Anyone who tried to follow him would realize that he had materialized a small combat bike to flee on. He didn't want to be near the HQ for a long time.
~~~~
Arrow was unresponsive. He had been hit multiple times, and after being slammed into a wall for the umpteenth time, his body just decided to shut down. He was out cold, for now.
But there was something else here... Amy would be able to detect its presence because of her familiarity with its thoughts.
The thought reader, the energy user, and the sharp-shooter all think they can help their friend... They only think they can. The 'Leader' cannot be saved. His disease is an incurable one. He will die a slow, painful death... After serving a purpose against his will. Neither the energy user nor the thought reader can save him from his fate. They can only pray that they do not share it...
Hologram was here, somewhere. He was going to attack the weakened crew! But where was he?
Amy thought to follow Austin as he ran for his room, she was worried for him. Very worried. But Arrow was in need of attention immediately, as were the other wounded, she couldn't just run off.
As It turned out, it was a good thing she hadn't, because she may have never heard the voice then! Hologram was close by. She swore, jumping to her feet, looking around worriedly. She materialized a gun as quickly as she could. Where was it?
(Kenneth didn't freeze, I just missed the notification. Anyway, I'll go on from here.)
Kenneth shook his head. Why had this happened now? Why?
Shortly explained, Kennethlost his wife to the monstruous creatures in the abyss, back in his time-period. He had watched her being ripped apart by a creature similar to what he just saw Austin transform into. Tilara, his wife, had pleaded for him to save their daughter, knowing full well that this would mean sacrificing herself. She knew, but he didn't. When he came back with their daughter Ella, he was just in time to see blooded tentacles grab her, lift her off the ground and simply rip her apart within that instant.
All of a sudden, Austin was gone, fled away. Kenneth dropped his gun and retreated into his room, closing the door behind him. He just fell to his knees and started crying, suddenly remembering it all. The loss of a good friend. The monsters that exist, even though we would like to deny them even being in the world. They're here. And they struck again.
The mental blockade that Kenneth built up around himself as he sat there in his misery somehow blocked off the voice the others could clearly hear, or he was just too lost in foul memories to even take note of it.
(OOC Note: The voice can only be heard by Amy, seeing as she was a thought-reader and everyone else isn't. There was no actual audible voice to be heard.)
So... The thought reader knows of our presence. Very well. She can be the first to die.
And then, in from another hallway, walked a boy. He looked no older than Amy. His shaggy hair fell just past his ears, a dark brown color. He wore brown cargo pants, and a blue jacket.
His face would be unmistakably recognizable by Amy: The one who helped get her and Arrow out of the frozen tundra. She knew him as Rex.
The boy looked dismayed at the chaos. He looked around frantically until he saw Amy and Arrow. His face showed relief as he saw them. "Amy!" Rex ran over to his friends and hugged Amy. "What happened here? I heard you had joined these guys recently, and came here to see... This? What's going on?"
Amy looked around frantically, they were coming after her first?! Alone now, she was more then a little panicked, this was NOT a good situation... it was then that the boy walked in from the hallway. A blast from her past, someone she hadn't truly expected to see again. Why was he there? How'd he gotten here, and why at this moment? Were all questions that ran through her mind in that moment. Followed by fear, as he came running over to hug her. "You need to leave! Rex, GO! It's not safe!!"
Rex rolled his eyes. "Of course it isn't safe. But now that I'm here I'm not leaving you and Arrow alone again. Since when haven't I protected you?"
Of course, then Amy might feel the knife in her stomach.
It wasn't Rex at all. Only an illusion. Now standing in his place was a creature that looked like a mix between a lizard and a man. He leaned in and whispered in her ear. "Right now, for starters." The raspy voice let out a gentle, evil laugh, and then he disappeared.
Yeah, she felt it. She didn't make a noise as the knife slipped through her armor and skin. But her eyes went very wide. Oh course he wasn't really there. Of course it had been Hologram. She should have known better.
He was gone before she could raise her gun... assuming she could still do that. Her legs had gone wobbly, like they may give out underneath her. The pain was bad, but strangely not the worst she'd felt. Still it was making her dizzy, lightheaded. She gripped at the wound with one hand. Trying to push pain aside, she looked around the room blearily. She was alone, and she wasn't sure if Hologram was still there or not. She wasn't safe.
Struggling to stay on her feet, and bleeding into her cupped hand, she tried to focus enough to reach out with her mind. All at once pleading for help, and trying to detect Hologram's presence.
Kenneth's eyes went wide as he felt a dark presence somewhere in the base. He didn't know what it was, but it was definately something that didn't belong here. Then it hit him, a plea for help, not too far away. "What in the name of..." Could it be Austin again? Could he be back? No... That's impossible, he escaped down the window..." He quickly rose to his feet and gathered his guns again, just in case.
With his pistol in hand, and rifle once again slung over the shoulder, Kenneth stepped out into the hallway. He looked to the right - there was nothing there. He looked at the left... That's when he saw her. He swore loudly and ran over to Amy while putting the pistol back in the holster.
He took a hold of her and dragged her to sit up against the wall. He didn't care if she didn't like being touched right now, if he didn't do it, she'd die. He quickly took off his coat and then his shirt, which he ripped to long pieces. He put pressure on the wound and bandaged it as good as humanly possible. When he finished, he grabbed her by the shoulder. "You'll be fine, okay? Just stay awake."
He put his hands to his ear to activate his comms system. "The base has been infiltrated, high state of alert! I've got one severely wounded in hallway 6B, I need a medical team here." He then got into a crouching position and took the rifle from his back, looking left and right the whole time in case something unwanted might show up.
Amy was relieved that Kenneth had come back for her. When he pulled her towards the wall, she sunk to the ground with a low groan. "H-hologram is h-here somewhere..." She muttered, she was still trying to locate his thoughts, but she was having trouble focusing through her pain.
She didn't really notice the touching at the moment, she had bigger things to worry about, like the hole in her stomach. She let him wrap her up.
There was a tactic used in the Vietnam War by guerilla snipers. A man would be shot in a non-lethal area, and call his friends for help.
These, too, would be wounded.
The collective cries for help would continue to grow until the soldiers eventually had to leave their comrades.
The medical team arrived all right- Just in time to be hacked to pieces by an invisible predator. More help arrived.
Hologram's knife cut through SET Armor like it was hot butter.
With all of the death, of course Kenneth got stabbed, too! In the back, near the right shoulder no less. It was non-lethal, but very painful. Amy's treatment got put on hold for the moment, leaving her to bleed out. Kenneth would probably be in agonizing pain. (This was, besides the knife wound in his back, due to the very potent Sting Venom which was created, ironically, by SET. It was designed to coat the Full Metal Jacket ammunition used in the military. Since the purpose of full metal jacket ammo was to wound, not kill, immobilizing venom that caused the entire body to go into the fetal position was very advantageous.
Now to find the Leader...
Wildner sighed in relief as the medical team approached. his smile turned to horror however, as he watched them get hacked to pieces out of nowhere. "What the..." he then recalled what information he'd pucked up about Hologram. "Not you again!" he gritted his teeth in frustration.
He was starting to materialize an armor set to protect himself from the knife just as it penetrated his shoulder. He screamed in agony and pain as he felt the blade penetrate him, the poison spreading quickly.
The SET troopers retreated for now, leaving Kenneth and Amy to their fate. "God...Damn-mnit..." Kenneth said as he felt himself getting immobilized next to Amy.
Amy tried to move to help Kenneth, but moving cause unbearable pain. God how were they going to get out of this? Hologram had efficiently incapacitated the entire team, what was to become of them now? After everything she'd been through, she was going to bleed out on a cold floor, assuming hologram didn't attack again of course, and Amy knew it was likely.
"Any.. plans C-captain?" She asked of Kenneth, though she wasn't holding onto much hope at this point.
With some effort, Kenneth turned his head to look at Amy. Surprisingly, he had a determined look on his face as he watched her. "W-we surv...survive." he stuttered. He was confident of it - he wouldn't let a cyborg like Hologram get the better of him. A knife that had been hidden in his sleeves was now clutched in his hand, ready to strike at the first sign of the enemy.
Dénouement
More fell as more arrived. The seemingly omnipresent attacker killed any who approached the small vicinity of the dorm hallway. Eventually the casualty count was higher than the number of Active Ops available, and they had to quarantine off the area.
Arrow sluggishly awoke, to find both Amy and Kenneth slumped up against his already slumped-over body. His HUD activated shortly.
Amy? What happened???
Amy let out a small groan in response. She'd tried to send the others away, but they hadn't bothered to listen. Now the body count was incredibly high, and Amy suspected that if she didn't get treatment soon, she would be joining them. She could hardly focus to hear him. "I...I th-thought Rex had come.."
