Really?.. was Amy's only reply before the ground opened up under them.
As they fell, Jack's voice came over the comm.
"Today, we're doing vehicle training!"
This excited Austin slightly.
"Today, we work as a team. No splitting off into groups. No arguing. Understood?"
"Yes sir." Came Red's disappointed reply. He was looking forward to more sleep than this. The fall lasted a few more minutes, allowing the team to realize that they were not, in fact, going to land on Big Blue.
Instead, a Red planet's surface steadily grew closer.

Amy let herself free fall, not terribly invested in what the outcome of the drop might be. She was told only seconds later anyway, as Jack explained that they were going to be doing some vehicle training.
She was a little surprised though, that they weren't headed to earth

The general conclusion Austin came to was that they were headed for Mars. That would explain the slightly slower fall, and red, dusty atmosphere.
Boom. The feeling was still a tad disorienting, but it was getting easier to get used to.
Once on their feet, the team would notice a large jeep-like vehicle.
The body was long, and wide. There was a large, clear container on the back, and inside there was what appeared to be a large glowing crystal. The container was attached to the vehicle, and had what looked like a long tube or wire running from it to a very powerful-looking gun.
There were four seats in all, the driver's, front passenger's two back seats, and the gunner stood on a platform on the back.
There was a large console in the front passenger's spot, and there were two small turrets on each side of the back passengers' seats.
"Today's drill is simple: You will each learn how to thoroughly operate every station on the Multi-Terrain Combat, Assault, and Tactical insertion Vehicle. We call it the CAT." Austin ran straight for the big gun on the back, while Red dashed for the driver's seat. Jack shook his head and chuckled, while Arrow waited for instructions.

Amy would wonder towards the vehicle, interested in taking in all there was to see on the outside of it, before she thought of climbing inside. She was also waiting to see if there were further instructions before she climbed into the machine with the two more excitable men.
(xD I love how Amy's unamused by how Red and Austin are essentially five-year-olds.)
Arrow followed Amy's lead, having normally looked to her for guidance since she and Rex helped him escape from the lab. He analyzed the vehicle before looking back at Jack, as if to say "What next?"
Jack walked over to the CAT as well, climbing into the front passenger seat. The passenger seat was located directly behind the driver's seat, and the console was built out of the floor of the vehicle. There was no roof to the vehicle. The oldest of the group spoke once more. "We will drive across a predetermined route, and take out various targets along the way. The driver's job is to make sure to get to the next location as efficiently, quickly, and safely as possible, while still ensuring that each gunner has a clear shot at the targets. At the same time, each gunner's job is to take out as many of their assigned targets as possible. The front passenger's job is to make sure the gunners know where the targets will be, and to activate the targets as the CAT arrives, as well as deactivating various visually hidden traps. Any questions?"

Amy went immediately for one of the back, passenger seats a small scowl, thankfully hidden from everybody else by her helmet. Great, gun play. She couldn't wait to show everyone how badly she could mess something up. Her aim, was notoriously awful. She let out a small groan as she hoisted herself into the seat.
The team would be surprised by the inside of their helmets responding with a virtual readout of the status of the vehicle in the bottom left corner of the visor, and amount of ammunition loaded into the current weapon they were using. If looking down the sights of the weapons, a small red circle would appear over where it was recommended to aim for the most accuracy when trying to hit a certain target.
"I have just one," Austin said before the training exercise began. "Is this a Battery Crystal?"
"Insightful." Thought Jack aloud. "Yes, in fact, it is. But how do you know what that is?"
"Research." Austin had been to the black market a few times when he needed an "illegal" part for an invention. That crystal was one of the most coveted pieces of technology to exist, because of its rarity and ability to generate massive mounts of energy quickly, for indefinite periods of time. "Does it power the vehicle as well? That much power can't be only focused on a weapon."
"It powers the CAT, Plasma Cannon, Console, and everything else in the package." Jack said, almost coldly. "Ready to begin?"
"Of course." Said Red.
"Yes." Answered Arrow.
"Prepped and ready to go!" Responded Austin. Red started the engine, and Arrow loaded his turret with the small Plasma Battery from a row of them next to his seat. The team would be speeding through the Martian Desert very soon.

Amy was relieved to find that at the very least, this weapon did most of the aiming for her. She loaded it much as Arrow had, and made sure she was fastened securely in. Ready to go She said, seconds before the engine came to life, and the machine was off.
(The circle is coming from the helmet's visor, not the sights.)
As the CAT roared across the desert, various targets would pop up as Jack pressed various buttons on the console.
Austin's gun fired with tremendous force, a continuous laser until the trigger was released.
Arrow's weapon fired rapidly, as would Amy if she held down the trigger. Targets would continue to pop up, and Jack would direct each gunner's attention to their respective targets.
(Sorry for the late reply, my friend called me.)

(no worries)
Amy shot at the targets as they came into her vision. Even with the added benefit of the circle provided by the helmet, Amy's aim was not so great. She did hit all of her targets, but very few of them would be classified as a 'kill zone' so to speak.
Still, she found herself almost having fun with this exercise.

After a few minutes of driving, the team arrived at a checkpoint.
"Alright, team. Each person moves forward a seat. Red, you man the big gun." Jack moved into the driver's seat, and Arrow moved into the passenger's seat. Austin would move to the right gunner's spot, while Red climbed onto the back platform.
Jack resumed the driving, and Arrow tried to figure out how to activate the targets, deactivate the traps, and make sure everyone knew where the targets were. Of course, this wasn't the purpose of the console in the field, but this was a good exercise to make sure everyone knew how to use it.
The training continued for a few more hours until everyone had a pretty good idea of how to man each station.
"Alright, good job everybody. Time to head back to HQ."

Amy had thoroughly enjoyed the exercise, though she continue to do poorly with the shooting, she proved to a very proficient driver, as well as being able to give direction with ease. Still, she was glad when it was time to head back. She was hungry.
The return trip was in a small hovercraft. There currently weren't any teleports on Mars, and it would be difficult to jump back from the planet into the mothership. Still, it was a relatively quick trip. Austin discovered he was very adept at handling the console, activating the various objects and such, as well as good turret gunner. The driving was decent, although Red and Arrow were both better. Arrow had the best aim of the group.
Once back at the HQ, Red and Austin went straight for the lockers to wash up and get changed. That armor was actually quite comfortable and cool, but it would still feel nice to get out of it.
Arrow went to the training room- He wanted to work on using the energy harness in the suit he was wearing. Learn to control his plasma charges that way.

Amy was glad to get back to HQ, and into some regular clothing for a bit. Not that the suits were horrible by any means. She headed directly for the locker rooms as well, she needed to find food. That was first priority. Though she would keep a careful ear out in case they were pulled to another exercise.
Arrow continued practicing using his lasers, and Red headed for the mess hall, to eat some food.
Jack went into a large hangar, where he began modifying various weapons and vehicles, something that reminded him of his old team.
While Amy was in the lockers, there would be a knock at the door. (So sorry, I got sidetracked. >_<)

Amy finished pulling on her clothes before she went to open it. Peering out with something akin to guarded suspicion, and curiosity.
"What do you need?" She would ask, before she saw who it was.

Behind the door stood Austin, and he seemed cheerful.
"Hey, I think we got off on the wrong foot yesterday. You think we can.. Start over?" The boy held out his hand to shake. He seemed like he wanted the team to work out just as much as Jack did. (Dang, I'm feeling really slow today. I think it's because I'm on skype with my friend. )

(Don't worry about it )
She looked doubtfully at the man before her, as he apologized for his actions the day before. "It's fine." She said after a moment, but made no move to touch him. It was very unlikely she would shake his hand, disliking being touched, as much as she did.

Austin smiled, and obviously seemed relieved that there were no hard feelings between them, although he was a bit confused when she refused to shake his hand. Thinking nothing of it, however, he walked back to his dorm, to continue to modify his watch and other tech he had to be compatible with SET's, as well as study theirs to understand how to build his own technology better.
