Amy went to the mess to find something to eat, which she did indeed, readily enough. The quality of the food was surprisingly good for what someone expect to get from a place referred to as 'the mess'.
(Mess is short for mess hall, lol. The mess hall is basically what they call a cafeteria in the military)
Red was in the mess hall as well, and was enjoying his food when Amy walked in.
"Hey, you did great on the CAT. I think this team could work out pretty well, we just need to, y'know, learn how to cooperate, cover each others' weaknesses."

Amy gave him a very small smile. "Thanks." She said briefly as she went to gather some food for herself. She wasn't exactly what one would call chatty. When she had her food, she would somewhat reluctantly to go occupy the same table, though she would not start conversation.
(Do you want to time jump? I can't think of anything to write.)
(Sorry)
(Yeah sure )
(When to? Tomorrow morning?)
(sure, whenever you have something for them )
Weeks pass, and the team gets more and more versed in each of the vehicles, weapons, and other accessories that will help in the fight against the Cyborgs. The team would start to get closer. Not exactly as close as a team should be, but they were steadily growing closer. At least, Red, Austin, and Jack were. Arrow was trying his best to be a part of the team as well. There was an eerie radio silence when it came to the Cyborgs. No attacks, no sightings. Not since the last incident. Things became routine in the HQ. Get up, do some PT, train for some sort of scenario, eat, continue to train, eat, go to bed. Rinse, and repeat. Things became so silent, that Jack began to search for the Cyborgs. This long without an attack meant they were planning something.
Amy had made an effort as well, to get along with the rest, but her insecurities got in the way on that. It seemed she'd developed something of a reputation for being 'icey' Thankfully she'd not heard this from her own team, but she expected they didn't feel much differently. She'd thankfully not had any other panic attacks, and through training, was becoming confident in her ability to help the team.
It remained that Arrow was only one she would converse with easily, and she allowed no one to touch her.

Jack's stab wound had healed quicker than anyone could have thought possible. He stopped wearing bandages after three days.
He began to act somewhat more strange with each passing day, making occasional remarks that didn't seem in alignment with his character. He still trained his new team, but something was... Off.
That oddness wasn't just Jack acting weird.

"Amy! Amy, you've got to wake up. Wake up NOW!" The voice belonged to one Austin Rose, who had been trying to wake the girl for a few minutes. "Amy, come on, you've got to get up. It's earlier than normal, I know, but there is an emergency! Arrow's been hurt, and Red's taking him to Earth on a Ghost. We need to follow them ASAP!"
Hopefully Amy would wake up. Once she did, if she did, Austin would show no signs of relief. "I can't explain it all to you right now, but Jack's turned into this... Thing. He's a literal monster. Follow me, quickly!"
Austin would lead the way down the halls. He was already wearing his armor, and holding a small device in one of his hands. "We don't have time to get your armor, either. So put this on." He tossed the device to Amy, and it would be found to be a wristwatch, much like Austin's. The watch, if put on, would expand into full armor, exactly as if Amy had put on her own SET armor.

The Ghost was a small fighter built for two. One person manned the back turret, while the other flew. Austin was first to jump in, ready to fly. "Come on!"
A very deep, raspy, almost slimy voice came from very nearby. Too close. It sounded vaguely like Jack, but it was too different to tell.
"Come here, cadets...... Time for.... Training..."
Fear resonated as a very clear emotion from Austin. Fear and panic. Worry also showed itself.
Bloodlust emanated as another very strong emotion nearby in the room. That thing was close, and getting closer by the second.

Amy wasn't exactly sure what was going on, when Austin's voice invaded her dreams, nightmares actually. She shot awake and listen this time, to what he was saying. Arrow had been hurt! That's all he needed to say before she shot out of bed, struggling into proper clothes right then, not particularly caring that he was right there. Arrow? She would call out as she did this, she needed to know he was okay.
She raced down the hallways along side him, and took the watch when he handed it to her. "What do you mean Jack has turned into a thing? Is Arrow okay?" She clipped the watch around her wrist, and it immediately expanded around her, into full armor.

Austin shook his head, as if to say No time.
"I'll explain on the way. Just get in the Ghost, please!"
The presence in the hangar bay was now very, very, very close.
"Come, cadets... You have disobeyed orders... Time.. For... PUNISHMENT!" A loud, horrible screeching sound, much like the one The Infection made. Then a large tendril grabbed Austin out of the Ghost, pulling him into the utter darkness. The flashlights on his helmet seemed to disappear, leaving Amy alone with the ship. Screaming and use of colorful language could be heard, but the creature seemed to laugh, growl, and screech all at the same time.
"A tasty meal... That's what you are.... You should have obeyed orders sooner... I am very hungry..." The creature had apparently not recognized Amy's presence yet.

Amy was not even remotely sure what to do. She couldn't pilot the ghost by herself. "Holy Mother of God." She sent a loud wail towards the creature, and called out to someone, anyone. "Austin's been grabbed. She still hadn't heard from Arrow. Was he that badly hurt? God what was going to happen to her?
A voice came through the comm system.
"Amy, Austin, you guys coming? Arrow's unconscious, he needs medical attention quickly." The jet Red and Arrow were in was probably too far away to receive thoughts.
Then they heard Austin's tortured yells.
"Holy hell! Austin, what's happening?"
More tortured screaming was the reply. Of course, Austin wasn't simply a victim. His armor should protect him from whatever was attacking him... At least for a little while. Flashes of light-blue light came from a distance away. Sounds of laser-fire and plasma-swords could be heard, punctuated by a pained curse word.
Austin spoke to the team directly after a few more seconds.
"Get the hell out of here right now! Whatever Jack's turned into, he's gone now! Retreat! I'll be fine, but you guys need to stay away from the ship! This thing can spread!" His voice spoke of confidence that he would follow shortly after, but there was a twinge of pain. His emotions were mixed. Amy would be able to pick up on fear, sadness, anger, frustration, and pain.

No, she couldn't do it. His words were confident, but his emotions betrayed him. She couldn't leave him behind. Get Arrow help Was all she said.
She turned to face the monster, that had been their team leader, and assaulted it with the worst, eardrum shattering high pitch screech, that she could muster. She ventured towards it.
(Sorry, does she have a weapon at all, to her disposal?)

(The Armor has a built-in materialization technology. Any weapon in SET's armory is at her disposal, she just has to think. )
The monster screeched in return, two freakishly large hands grabbing its head, the body covered in a horrible crimson slime. The monster's face was hideous. Austin was thankfully dropped, but his armor was badly damaged, and his right arm was missing. "Guess you're driving, then." Gratitude was the number one emotion to be detected right now.
"Austin! What the hell! Get out of there NOW!! Arrow's awake, but I'm not sure how conscious he is. We've almost landed. For Pete's sakes, why didn't we just take the teleports?"
"The thing smashed them all.." Austin weakly replied, as he climbed into the back seat of the Ghost. "Sorry, Jack. I wish we could have helped..."
A loud screech of anger and annoyance was what replied. Revenge and death were two clear thoughts that could be detected. This thing was out to kill them all.

Amy ran for the Ghost though she paused outside of it for second. Sorry Jack, She climbed in, and fired it up. They needed to get out of there, before things got any worse, before the thing that used to Jack, succeeded at killing them both.
The thing had just enough time to get to the ship before it took off. It, screaming in rage, tried to lash out with tendrils, but missed.
Austin chuckled painfully. His arm was, strangely, not bleeding. Instead, a broken-off piece of steel took its place.
"I guess I should have told you... I'm a robot." He laughed softly. "But really, this is the second time I lost my arm. Damn, I need to fix that."
"Austin, Amy, you guys safe? We just landed, I'm helping Arrow to the hospital."

Amy looked over at him, well thank goodness for that. "Are you hurt anywhere else?"
We're safe. On our way now. Let them know Austin is coming in as well, that way they'll be ready. She focused to getting the ship to earth, having narrowly escaped the creature's grasp.
