Austin took off his helmet.

"My entire body aches... I can't tell exactly where I'm hurt. All I know is that I'm hurt."

"Got it, we'll let them know. Holy crap, Jack... He's gone?"

Austin's saddened expression mixed with pain showed that he felt guilty for leaving Jack.

"We need to go back there. Some time. To help him. He's still alive in there, part of that... Thing."

Amy wouldn't slip off her own helmet, until they were safely back on Earth. She would get out quickly, and wait to help Austin if he needed it, to get to the hospital.

There was something nagging at her, but she would wait until all of her team mates were together to address it.

Austin slowly climbed out, hugging himself with his one arm. His helmet seemed to disappear, when in reality it just dematerialized, until it was needed at a later date.

The adrenaline was slowly draining from his veins, and Austin realized that his knee had been bent at an odd angle. "Ow! Dang it!" His jaw was clenched in pain, and he tried to walk to the hospital. The armor had been bent, and so did Austin's leg. That thing was seriously strong.

Austin was disappointed, too. "What do we do now, Amy? Do we quit? Do we stay together and fight? Will that happen to us, too?" It was a scary thought. No leader. Someone else would have to step up.

Seeing that his knee was all screwed up, she would go to his side, to help keep him steady, thankfully she still had the outfit on, so he wouldn't be able to see the cold sweat she broke out in when touched, even in this manner.

"We'll worry about it when we've had you looked at."

Austin was grateful for the help.

"Thanks..." He was impressed with how brave she was. He had seen a glimpse of Amy's panic attack a few weeks ago, during their first Cyborg attack. How she handled this situation seemed like a much better improvement. "You.. You were pretty brave back there, attacking him like that. I mean, look what he did to me!" Austin chuckled. "I know that sounds terribly cliche, the whole 'you were brave back there' thing, but it's true. You could have left me, and gone to join Arrow and Red."

Once they reached the hospital, he tried to deactivate his armor (which was also in his watch,) but the mangled metal only hurt more. "Any way we can get this off? Preferably without cutting tools, please."

She shook her head. "I couldn't have done that. I could hardly leave Jack up there." She frowned when he couldn't deactivate the armor. "Perhaps the doctor will know of a way to take it off, I don't know of any other way."

"The conventional way of taking it off, possibly?" A smug voice came from behind Amy. Along with the voice came a face. He was smiling smugly. He wore a large trench coat, and his head was bald. The man's feet were covered in large, armor-like boots, which weren't covered by the coat.

Amy might recognize the face, although the place she remembered it from would escape her. Of course, in actuality, he was one of the leading scientists who performed the horrible experiments on her.

The voice was hard to place, too, but it would be recognizable to any member of the team. Unfortunately, Arrow and Red were in the hospital, and Austin was too dazed to really comprehend the voice at the moment.

(Is it John? Is that why they'd know the voice?)

(Yes)

(Didn't expect that, didja? *plot twist* )

Amy's eyes shot up to the person talking to her. Her eyes wide. She recognized the voice all to well, from weeks before. She recognized his face too, though she wasn't sure from where. He terrified her though. She unconsciously pressed closer to Austin.

"wh-what do you want.."

Austin notices the sudden change in pressure coming from Amy, and he looks up at John. Realizing that this man is scaring his teammate, he glares. "What are you here for?"

The man merely laughs. "I'm here for your life energy. Or not? All I'd need to do would be to touch you, and you'd slowly drift off into a painful, fitful death. It would take three days for you to die, but your powers, and life energy would all be with me. It's how I've stayed so young." The man chuckled, like this was some sort of joke. "How's that leader of yours holding up? I take it that by the looks of you, Austin, he's finally given over to Infection?"

Austin was surprised by the man's knowledge of his name, Jack, and the fact that Jack had gained Infection's powers.

"No, I'm not really here for your life force, however tempting that may be. I'm here to take back what's mine. Specifically, the girl and the mute."

Dread filled Amy's stomach. "NO!, No, you wont have me or Arrow." Her eyes were wide with panic, because suddenly she knew. "You'll have to kill me. I'm not going anywhere with you.

Arrow, hide. They've come back for us.

So many things suddenly went wrong all at once.

First, the hospital exploded. Austin and Amy were thankfully wearing their armor, and even though he wasn't wearing his helmet, Austin was unharmed. John, unfortunately, was unharmed as well.

Next, Arrow and Red appeared, each wearing their armor. Arrow had clearly just been alerted of the situation, and had somehow been able to get his armor back on quick. This wasn't a bad thing, until they were attacked. The attackers were also Experiments of John's. One was a girl about Amy's age. She had brunette hair, tied back in a ponytail, and her eyes glowed dangerously. The irises were an unnatural shade of crimson. She and Arrow instantly were fighting, blue versus orange at the speed of light. The other attacker was a man too large to be natural. He would have smashed Red if not for Red's armor.

Amy, go! I can hold off the attackers, I'm fast enough. I'll meet up with you later, okay? Just make sure Red and Austin don't get into too much trouble. Arrow's thoughts reached Amy just as the giant man got a laser through his skull. It was actually Arrow, in laser form, but either way the brute fell. Red seemed to get Arrow's message, too, because he nodded at Arrow and then ran towards Amy and Austin.

"Run, you won't get far. Lektry's one of my best. She can move twice as fast as Arrow could. Plus, I've got many more experiments who are eager to help me retrieve you."

Red threw a saw-blade at John, which was carelessly caught, but caused enough distraction to allow them to escape.

Austin's emotions were surprise, and then anger. Red's were the same, and Arrow's emotions followed that of annoyance, like, How is she this fast? I'm the only person who should be this fast. No fair!

Amy couldn't leave Arrow, nor more then she could have left Austin back at the HQ. She turned to Austin. "Run away and don't look back" She targeted the fastly moving girl.

He'll hurt you too, you can't trust him. In the end your expendable. She was trying to psyche the girl out, but if that failed immediately, she would send off the same powerful screeching she was was getting so good at.

Austin was bewildered. Why would Arrow and Amy want to stay here? Especially with someone they clearly knew and didn't like?

Red was carrying Austin across his shoulders before he could protest, out of the hospital. Arrow and the girl, whose name they learned was Lektry, were blurs of light. The girl used a different form of plasma than Arrow, each one trying to counter the other.

The girl's voice echoed back in Amy's mind. No. He cares about us. He just masks his emotions. Showing your emotion is weak. Like you. You abandoned us. Traitors. Arrow took advantage of the girl's less-than-split-second distraction to tackle her to the ground, immobilizing her quickly. A punch to the head left her unconscious, and before any more backup came, Arrow would move towards Amy. I'm going to need to pick you up. We're going to fly out of here. Remember in Russia? Rex had me carry you both. I didn't know I could fly until then. If Amy agreed, he would grab her and quickly dash them both outside of the building, knowing Red and Austin would be in a Ghost already heading away. If there was a disagreement, Arrow would understand, and try to move slower to allow Amy to keep up. John would chase them, however, and he presumably had more power than any one Experiment.

Amy nodded her consent, though she was less then comfortable with it. It was necessary however, and if anybody had to touch her, she supposed she trusted Arrow the most.

Assuming they got away, she was a bloody mess when they got to where they were going.

Today was absolutely crazy. First, they lose their team leader. Then, they are attacked at a hospital. To make things worse, the attackers are Amy and Arrow's old scientist buddies, the ones who turned them into the freaks they are.

And to top it all off? Everyone thinks SET is criminal.

News stations around the globe broadcast footage of the nearly-collapsed building that once was a hospital. Firemen trying to get survivors out, and no sign of John or the Experiments. A small girl said she saw people wearing "big suits" planting "white blocks with wires" around the building, referring to armor and C4, a special type of remotely detonated explosive.

So, SET has officially gone rogue. Off the grid. No one on the planet could possibly want to help them now.

The group met up at a predetermined rendevous-point: The SET Ground Headquarters, or GHQ. It was actually an underground bunker, built by Jack and Chief when the Old SET was still around. Jack had told the new team about it recently, and they agreed that if anything bad should happen, they would meet there. It was hidden, and well-stocked. Weapons, ammo, vehicles, extra sets of armor, medical supplies, food, water... There were enough things stocked in here to fend off the zombie apocalypse twice! Arrow carried Amy as fast as he could, meeting at the bunker, where Austin and Red were already trying to heal Austin's wounds. When he set Amy down, Arrow noticed the blood. Are you okay? Where are you hurt?

Austin was on morphine at the time, so he couldn't feel anything while Red was prying embedded armor out of flesh.

(LOL, Sorry, I didn't mean literal blood. Bloody- like the exclaimation IE: Thats bloody brilliant)
