Inashia inspected the one scar that was certainly more prominent than the rest. She looked up at his face, then. "Then...why do you keep doing it?" She didn't understand that. He was so injured, had so many tough battles...why would he keep going?
"Why not?" he countered, "It's better for one person to get injured than for many to be enslaved," he said with a shrug.
Inashia smiled softly. "...you're very selfless, Te'van. And you're brave." She wished she could be that brave, but it just wasn't going to happen.
"Well... That's not entirely true. I've run away from more than one slave convoy with less guards than were at the one you were just in," he said thoughtfully, "I've run away from cages with no guards by them... Sometimes I just lose it..."
Inashia grew curious at his confession. "..why do you think that is? Maybe you're just pushing yourself too hard. Do you ever give yourself time to rest?" It was the slave nature in her coming out, but she couldn't help it. She was concerned for him.
"Well... I'm a pretty late sleeper. I sleep until noon some days," he said although didn't know if that really counted as what she was saying.
Inashia let out a soft giggle. "That's not what I mean. I mean, do you ever do anything to relax and enjoy yourself?"
"Well... I enjoy what I do... I've never really taken te time to developed a hobby..."
Inashia tilted her head a little. "Interesting. You're very curious, you know that, Te'van?" She didn't really understand him. But that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
He blushed a bit, "Is that a good or bad thing?"
Inashia giggled softly. "Well...it's not such a bad thing. Interesting is...interesting! I'm glad you saved me, Te'van. Thank you." She smiled. "Te'van, I think I want to show you how to relax. Do you know somewhere safe and sunny?"
"Um... Yes, I have a basking spot about a mile from here," he said and turned to the left, slithering forwards.
Inashia smiled. "Good! Let's go." She let him lead her off to his basking spot, and once they were there, she looked up and smiled. "This is a really nice basking spot." she agreed. Then she looked around, and then...her tail poked his arm. "Guess what, Te'van?" She paused for a moment, then grinned. "Tag. You're it!" She started slithering away from him, waiting for him to take chase.
He looked very confused for about two minutes as he tried to figure out why she had just done and what it meant. He was still young, but he didnt exactly have a very playful child hood.
After his brain finally caught up though, he chased after her and poked her shoulder then shot away.

Inashia still slithered around while he was confused, but when he poked her shoulder she laughed and chased after him, slithering around quick and agile, smiling and laughing happily.
Te'van easily darted away, his large body, packed with powerful muscles allowing him to move with surprising agility.
Inashia was indeed surprised at how fast he could move. But then again, she could move fast as well! She slithered right after him, chasing him around. When she finally caught up with him, sooner or later, she tapped him and darted off with a light laugh.
He couldn't help but laugh either and whirled around, coiling his body like a spring and shot after her, moving a bit like a sidewinder with his whole body moving sideways to go.
Inashia watched him as he moved around and she grinned, suddenly stopping and laying flat, her tail lifting up to wrap around him as he came near. "Gotcha!" She was being playful again, 'catching' him when he was trying to tag her!
He rolled with the grab and they spun for a moment but he came out on top, pinning her hands above her head, his face only inches from hers, "I beg to differ."
