"That were truly sad. How about we lighten up this gloomy conversation with some hot chocolate?"
“Y-yeah.” She says, using her sleeve to wipe the tears from her face.
"So hot chokolate?"
Ari was surprised at first, she hadn’t been hugged in a long time. She hugged back tightly, scared of losing him again.
"But Sir, you saved the day"
Ari shook her head. “It’s okay.” She says, her voice quiet. “No. Hector hurt people.” She says, her eye brows furrow.
"How about that hot chacolate, does that sound good?"
Althea walked through the trees until coming upon a large tree, it’s trunk easily 6 or 7 feet wide. She nodded to herself and easily climbed up, until she was nearly to the top. She found a large branch and climbed out, laying down on it, one leg dangling off and her eyes closed.
Ari finally let go of him. “What kid?” She asked.
"W-We searched the city for survivors, one of the woman lost her child... and once we found her she... she..."he couldn't finish
“Oh...” She replies, frowning.
he nodded"She sat there for hours... hugging her cold dead body..."
Ari flashed back to when her father had died, she had cried and cried, wishing she could bring him back, wishing she was there in time to save him. She understood what the woman felt all to well.
Ari placed her hand on his shoulder. “It’s not your fault, Russ.” She said softly.
