I know this might be a lot of work (I actually know nothing about websites and coding), but I think it would be really nice to have a feature where you can store unfinished characters in a manner that people can't see them at all, but they are saved to your profile to access and edit until you're ready to show.

I know there is the option to make the character anon, but I'd rather a character I just made with a pretty bare bones profile not show up in the site-wide character list at all. I also find it a bit disconcerting that because a character returns to the top of the 'browse' list every time you make an edit, people can see and access an unfinished character, which just sort of bothers me as I don't tend to finish that kind of thing all in one go.

This is super specific and probably an annoying suggestion, so I apologise for that and for if it's been brought up already, but I figured it couldn't hurt to make a post.

I would like to +1 this, because...it's awkward and embarrassing having your character profile show up to everyone when there's either 1) nothing there for them to see, or 2) there is, but it's an absolute mess that hasn't been organized yet.

Also, as someone who browses characters, I'm really only interested in seeing characters that are active and ready to go, so I know I can immediately send the player a plot idea.

I second this completely!

I love making characters. Character crafting is probably one of my favorite things about the entire rp experience! It feels great to unveil something when it's complete too! A sudden surprise for your friends and other people watching you to see, when out of no where a completely fleshed out idea could come to life suddenly!

Sure, it's interesting to watch the progression... sometimes... but some sort of draft system for creating and keeping your ideas on the hush would be cool!

I'm not against this suggestion, but if I recall server costs for data storage is what eats most of RPR's budget and that's why we have character slot limits in the first place.

So perhaps as a compromise you would have a limited number of draft slots. Also to save data, draft slots can't use the gallery function since images use up far more data then text does. Even without the images, it should still work fine since it's typing everything down that takes the bulk of profile creation anyway.

Or you could have an option to use a regular character profile as a draft by hitting a toggle option and then untoggle it when it's finished. Of course if you have no slots then you can't use this until you free one up.

Wasn't sure if you meant separate draft slots or just an added option to our existing slots.

Personally, I was thinking more along these lines. Toggling visibility of the profile to others until it's ready to go.

I second the idea for a 'Save as Draft' button. For someone who has limited internet time and may not finish ALL my character references in one go or gets easily distracted, this would be wonderful.

I have wanted a feature like this for SO LONG! I would assume they would use existing slots. But yeah, just a general 'hide this profile' option while still using up your slot would be so so amazing. As an altoholic of sorts, some characters I really want hidden until I flesh them out, but don't want to delete the progress I HAVE made on them thus far. This is by far the #1 thing I'd love to see be brought to RPR sometime in the future.

After Thought: It'd also likely lead to me having less anonymous characters. Most of mine are set to anon to keep them off my main profile list until I'm ready to make them 'active' again.
