Oh no! It's the last day of school before Winter Break, but unfortunately, the snow piled up so high near the building that nobody can enter or leave!!
What will be the fate of the young students? Will the snow be shoveled away or melt in time, or will they all miss the holidays?

This would fit with younger characters (under 13 years) as students, over 25 years as staff. I'm going to use Kayla, Max and Drew for this, since all the characters on this profile are rewrites and need more development before I make them public.

Max and Drew sat in their desks in their 3rd grade class. Despite being twins, they'd been placed across from eachother in the room. It was about 15 minutes until school let out, and both boys were visibly impatient. Tomorrow was the first day of winter break. They were having a small conversation using telepathy, mostly about Christmas. Their thoughts were interrupted by a sudden announcement over the PA system.
"Attention students and staff: The snow outside has unexpectedly piled up over the entrances and exits. Teachers, please halt lessons and wait for further instructions via email."
"What?!" both twins, plus some others exclaim.

Colin overheard the announcement and gently swore under his breath, still sitting in the basement. He checked over his bag, and with satisfaction noted he had enough food for three weeks, assuming he rationed it, and water for about the same length of time.

The teacher quickly goes over to her desk and logs onto her email using the computer. No instructions yet. She sighs as a few kids talk to eachother, confused. A sudden blip noise alerts her to a new message, which she quickly opens. She reads it over twice, and steps back from the computer. "Class, come with me. We're going to the cafeteria."
Everyone complies, and the class gets to the cafeteria without too much trouble. Other classes were making their way down to the cafeteria too. There was lots of noise.

Newton had been sitting alone in a table near the corner of the class as the teacher had announced that they were moving to the cafeteria. He easily stood from his desk and grabbed his backpack, watching as everyone had lined up and followed after the teacher, him being near the back. He didn't mind being stuck in school, actually, since they had air conditioning and all, unlike his house, where things we're just as cold as it was outside, maybe even colder.
He nonetheless quietly followed, staring down at the ground and not speaking, hoping that something thrilling would happen, like having a blackout. Boy, would that be fun.

Drew ends up chatting with Max, along with some other kids. Most of their conversation was about the situation.
Drew spots his sister, Kayla, from across the hallway and runs to her. "HI KAYLA!!" he shouts. Of course, a teacher tries to get him back to being quiet.
However, this fails.
"HI DREW!!" Kayla greets, jumping and waving. Max, during all of this, giggles a bit and waves at Kayla.
