Evan waited patiently on the building manager to finish her paperwork. He slouched against the wall, hands in his jacket pockets, choppy hair falling down around his eyes. The manager, a kind black woman of about 30 with pure red irises and sharpened nails, finally stood. Her plain gray pantsuit made her look more human than she was.
"Alright, Mr. Orvelle, we have your key ready. I'll come with you, give you the tour, and you can wait on your roommates."
Evan perked up.
"Roommates? Already?" his gruff voice wondered. He'd only put that ad out yesterday!
The woman smiled.
"Yes, sir. Already three replies. Looks like your ad's been fulfilled. Shall we?"
She led the 22-year-old up the stairs. They stopped on floor 18, which was also Apartment 18.
Just my luck, Evan thought, regarding the number.
The layout was simple enough. A sizeable living room, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a nice kitchen with an island. The living room and kitchen were open-ended to each other, with lots of space.
"This is perfect," Evan said, making the manager smile approvingly.
"I'll take my leave, then," she says, moving to leave the apartment.
"Thank you, uh..." Evan searched for her name, which he'd forgotten.
"Yvonne," she replied, nodding before closing the door behind her.
Evan sat cross-legged on the counter, slumped over. He waited for his roommates to arrive, and wondered who they were.

She arrived at the building with her bags in both hands as another receptionist checked her in. Once finished, they led her to the room and handed her the key. Nodding, she walked in and stopped upon seeing someone else already there.
The two walked into the apartment building, carrying all their things with them.
"Guessing this is the right place..." Daron said to Serj, and he just got a nod from Serj in response.
The two walked over to the receptionist and got checked in. They were led to the 18th apartment on the 18th floor, and the two thought that the number was quite a cool little thing.
The two also knew that they were going to get roommates, and were a bit worried and excited at the same time. They liked to meet new people, but they both weren't the best at socializing and not that many people liked them...
"Hope they're nice." Serj spoke, referring to their roommates as he stared at the 18 on the door.
"I'm sure they will be..." Daron responded.
The two then opened the door to the apartment, walking inside and seeing their two roommates.

She mentally cursed herself. “Perfect.” She whispered and walked to the room in the far corner. “Mine.” Was all she said before she walked into the room, with her things, and shut the door.
((At work right now, but I'll respond tonight!))

The girl walked in, and Evan barely caught a glance of her fit form before two more people entered. They were all carrying half a life's worth of luggage with them. The pale girl paid no mind to her new housemates, claiming her space without a second thought.
Evan lifted his right hand in a lazy wave.
"Hey. Name's Evan. Welcome home, I guess."
He waved his right arm, gesturing at the apartment behind them.
"Take your pick of rooms. We'll need a bathroom and chore schedule ,but we can hash that shit out later."
Uncrossing his legs, Evan hopped down from the counter.
"And, uh... The water bill's on me."

((I work in retail, and we just got out of the holiday season rush that lasted a few weeks. My life was kind of consumed by that. Plus actually celebrating, so there's that... Lmao))
The two watched as the white haired girl claimed her room. Then they looked towards their other roommate. The two gave a slightly awkward wave in return, feeling a bit awkward because they weren’t the best at meeting new people.
“Yo, the names Daron.” Daron said, then pointed to Serj. “And that’s Serj.”
Serj gave a bit of a nod, but didn’t really say anything. That was normal, he’s quite shy around new people.
“I guess we could share a room...” Daron continued. “Which one do you want, Serj?”
Serj pointed to one of the rooms.
“Okay, that one it is then.”

Ice listened in on them and chuckled. “Weirdos, Just Who I need.” She shook her head and pulled her hood down, plugging in her earbuds and blaring MCR. She bobbed her head up and down as she placed things in different places.
The two turned and walked into the room they claimed as theirs, bringing their things along with them. They started unpacking their things, and while they did that they just talked about whatever the two usually talked about... which was usually bands or just stupid things in general.
