James had been wandering alone for quite some time, travelling from town to town helping people he could and entertaining for what little he could earn. He grew tired of moving from town to town, village to village, city to city, and decided to find a place to call home. As James searched he stumbled across a little town that had a peace or tolerance between humans and demons alike. He decided to settle down there, looking for peace, a place to stay, and a meal to eat.
James took care to hide as he passed through the streets, not daring to take his hood off till he arrived at the shop he had heard about from some of the other people who lived in the town. It was a bit of a walk, but he eventually found the shop as the sun was setting. Unsure of whether it was still open he walked in, a chilling aura surrounding him as he entered the store, looking around.

The small town, that his teacher loved so much, was beautiful and full of life. Demons, monsters, humans and whatever else was always welcomed. That's also, why Cas grew fondly on this place. It was a paradise that was now his home. This town was called Xīwàng gǔ, or if that was difficult, Hope Valley.
It was about time to close up, as Cas was cleaning up the shop. Preing to close, though he had decided to leave the door open for a moment longer. The day had been busy, with the usual customers and friendly visits from those, whom ordered special cakes for events. Though, today felt different to Cas.. since his teacher had went out on another business trip, leaving the male demon in charge. His grey eyes shifted suddenly towards the door, standing up straight. Rag pressed against the counter as he greeted the hooded figure. "Welcome to Monsieur's" He spoke up with his usual smile. He was wearing a black and white uniform, that made him stand out. His black hair pushed back to keep from getting into any of the food. He had sent the wait staff home already, leaving him to cater to the guest.
The shop gave off an antique, yet warm, feel. The menu was quite simple, but upon closer looked you would find the ingredients to be much more elegant, than one would expect. It was dimly lit, to keep a calm and relaxing mood and offered a variety of teas, coffees, and other drinks. When it came to the food, it ranged from desserts to "finger food" dishes.

As he entered the shop James looked over towards the person who gave the greeting, then looking around the shop, it made James feel like it was a home, open to all who arrived. He took off the hood of his dark purple cloak, revealing his chocolate-brown hair that had a streak of silver hair running through it. Other than his dark purple cloak, his clothes appeared worn and dusty, indicating that he was a traveler or had traveled some distance prior to his arrival. James' golden-yellow eyes then shifted to the person out of curiosity. Of all the things he was expecting, a welcome was one of the things he wasn't expecting the vendor to say.
He gave notice to the rag the man had, assuming that the shop was closing soon. "Oh! I'm terribly sorry if you were just about to close. I'm just looking for-" James was cut off by a low, but audible, rumble of his stomach. "Heh, I haven't had a good meal in days, if you don't mind could I get a sandwich? Just something plain and simple like a BLT will be fine." James gave a smile, he looked young, around 15 to 16 years old and obviously alone by the looks of it.

Cas had stopped wiping the counter, before smiling again. He was use to the last minute customers, though at the same time he kept a cautious stance. Even though this land was safe for all creatures, there was those who stirred up trouble for his kind. So, the boys eyes studied him for a moment. He wasn't very tall, but he was most definitely not short. His body was quite athletic, giving him an odd aura of elegance.
"Oh, do not worry. We are still open for such occasions..." Cas joked, as he referred to the male's stomach. He had to admit, he thought the male looked a lot younger than what he assumed.
Cas gestured to a seat at the deep oak bar, that he had just cleaned and moved onto the opposite side. With each movement, he was gentle. "Would you like anything to drink?" He spoke with another smile. Pushing a lose strain of his hair behind his own ear.

James noticed how nice this individual was to him, something that he wasn't used to. He couldn't help smiling at the person with a mix of innocence and child-like glee. He missed people actually caring for one another, renewing his hope for settling in this town.
James slowly walked over, taking a seat where the stranger had motioned to, his motions seeming to flow together as he slid into the seat. He gave a quick nod in response to the question, "Water would be nice, but no ice please."
He couldn't help but notice that he was slightly shorter than the stranger, something he was used to, being short. James also noted that no one else was in the shop, curiously glancing around. "Uh sir, do you run this place by yourself? I couldn't help but notice that you were the only one here when I walked in."

"of course." The demon boy smiled as he spoke, before grabbing a pitcher of fresh water. He gently poured into a glass, before placing it in front of the other. His eyes watching his own movements, not wanting to spill it. He had become a perfectionness about serving others and even his own cooking.
His eyes shifted back to the other, when asked about the staffing. "Well, usually there is a staff of 3 on the floor. " He admitted before adding "but today, I sent them home, because a one has an exam, one has to go to the next town to see the owner, since I can't leave." He stepped from behind the counter and flipped the open sign to the other side. Quickly, heading back to the other side, he added "I'll bring out your food in a moment, please wait." He bowed slightly, before disappearing to the back.
It didn't take too long, before the male suddenly returned. The BLT was a taller, and looked like it had just came out of a book for the perfect BLT. "Here you are, sir." Cas spoke, setting it down in front of him. The demon seemed to be nervous, he always was when it came to the food he prepared.

He had only taken a sip of the water before the stranger came back with the sandwich. James admired the sandwich for a moment before taking a bite out of it. His eyes instantly lit up saying, "Woah, this is amazing... Thank you!" Maybe a minute had passed and James leaned back on the chair, having finished the entire sandwich quickly, but out of hunger.
James gave notice to the stranger's small horns, curiously looking at them. "Sir, I couldn't help but notice your horns." James motioned to the top of his head before continuing. "If it's okay to ask are you by chance a demon? I'm not looking for trouble, I'm just curious is all."
James had unclasped his cloak, setting it on the back of the seat, revealing a dark blue messenger bag, a sea blue shirt and tan pants. He smiled with curiosity, having never spoken to a demon before, especially one that could cook so well.

Cas' eyes light up as he watched the man's reaction to his food. Oddly enough, He felt rather pleased that the man enjoyed his food. Even if it was a simple BLT. The demon went back to cleaning up behind the counter, smiling up at him. "Most welcome" He grinned suddenly, as he washed a few more cups. Stopping only when the stanger pointed out his horns. At this point, it caused him rather great anxiety. Slowly, The demon pushed his hair back, in an attempt to hide his own horns. "I am a demon..." He admitted, smling politely as he set down a small tea cup onto a towel behind the counter.
He looked up at him once again. "So, is this the first time you've been here...er to this town, I mean?" He spoke in a calming and curious tone. He eyes flickering as if to see through him.

James nodded, "Yeah, it's really nice here. I'm a traveling entertainer, but I've recently wanted to... settle down. And actually your the first demon I've met, and believe me, I've seen more races and variety of people than most will know of in their lifetime."
He took another sip of water before continuing. "This is a nice little town though. Oh! Where are my manners, I'm James, James Niles, the wandering travelling entertainer mage! Or at least I was... I don't travel as much as I used to." He enjoyed talking to people, even strangers about his work.
