Corrine stood to head to the dining room. “Are you coming?” She asked Matt, smiling slightly.

"Oh, well I guess we will have to keep talking later"

Matt

I got up and followed Corrine. "Of course I am!" I laughed. As we were walking I started to talk with her again. "Back at my home, when my mother adopted me, I was surprised to find out she tended a massive garden as well. I spent my days there laying in trees soaking up the sun. They are fond memories."

Anthony

"I guess so. Nice meeting you!" I said to him. We had heard something about dinner. I started to make my way over to the mess hall. Hopefully, the food here was exceptionally good as well. I'd also be excited to chat with the other students.

Corrine smiled, looking at Matt out of the corner of her eye.
“Did your parents send you here? Or was it your own choice?” She asked.

Matt

I rubbed the back of my neck. "Well...I--. My own choice." I told her. I quickly changed the subject to be about her. "What about you? I assume parents?"

Corrine nodded, not noticing the quick change in their conversation. “I inhertiated my abilities from my father. He tried to train and teach me on his own, but my powers were a lot stronger then his, so here I am.” She slightly laughed, looking down at the ground.

Matt

I laughed a little bit to avoid awkwardness. "..and of your mother? You say your powers were stronger than your fathers, yet he was the only one with magic. How could that be?"

Corrine shrugged, “My mom doesn’t hold any abilities that I know of, she’s just a normal human. My dad comes a long line of people gifted with the same ability that I possess, so who knows.”

Ember sighs and gets up, hearing the announcement. She snaps to make the spirit wolf disapear, not wanting to leave it alone, then makes her way to the dining hall.

Corrine arrived at the entrance of the dining room and looked around, taking in the sight before her.

Matt

I took it all in. It looked just as I had expected it to look. Stunning. "You think this place is made through magic?" Certainly, it couldn't be man-made.

Anthony

I walked down to the mess hall. Taking in the scenery.

Corrine thought for a moment before saying “I think it’s a mixture of magic and man made. It has a certain aura of magic to it, but you can also feel that someone put so much of themselves into creating this.”

Matt

I took a plate and went over to the buffet serving tables. They had a lot of food here. I simply took two pieces of toast and some roast and potatoes. I put it down at one of the tables and went back and grabbed a glass of water. I sat down again and waited for my friends to finish up and take a seat before starting to eat.

Anthony

I finally made it to the mess hall. It was great and all, but my stomach was doing the talking and it said it was hungry. I immediately made my way over to the serving tables and piled my plate full of assorted foods. I put my plate next to Matt and then proceeded to go back for a glass of milk. Eating like kings I say!

Corrine grabbed a plate and just grabbed some simple things, a bit of roast, potatoes, some steamed vegetables. She grabbed a glass of orange juice while she was still up, and then walked over to where Matt was sitting.
“Is it alright if I join you? You’re the only person I’ve met so far, besides Ember.”

Matt

"I'd be disappointed if you didn't!" I said with a smile. I gestured to Anthony. "This is my friend Anthony. He is sort of like a brother to me." I looked down at his plate and chuckled. "You have enough food there?"

Anthony

I was already eating my food, despite my hunger, I still made time to carefully cut it up and to actually chew it. "Who's this?" I asked Matt as a woman sat at our table. He responded with "Corrine". Interesting name I suppose. I finished chewing, wiped off my hand then mouth and then stuck my hand out. "Nice to meet you Corrine!"

Corrine laughed, and shook Anthony’s hand. “Nice to meet you too, what’s your ability?” She asked, taking bites of her food in between.

Ember walked in and got some food, some stark and potatoes, it had been a long time since she had had this much food. She was excited to try it.

Anthony

"Fire manipulation," I said and then took in another bite. "You?"

Matt

I watched others walk in and get their food.

“Ice manipulation, kind of opposites, aren’t we?” She said between laughter, taking a sip of her juice.

Farrah looked around and figured she’d introduce herself to some of the students. She walked over to Corrine’s table. “Ice manipulation you say?” She had a strong middle-eastern accent.
