Hey, everyone! It's been a minute and a half since I started a thread. (If this isn't the right thread to put this, please let me know!)
But I'm currently on a trip to Nebraska right now, and I'm hitting a few iconic stops along the way! Now, this would be where I share my photos, and brag about how I passed by this and that and the other thing too...
But I want to know about other people's travels as well! What amazing sights have you been lucky enough to see, and are willing to share with us? Maybe you can also share an interesting fact about the cities I just passed or took photos of! (The more facts and awesome photos I see, the more willing I might be to send a destination photo of myself when I reach Nebraska~ Think of that as a tiny incentive!)
Since I'm still on the road, I can only share an epic photo or two while I progress, and reveal the next city when I get there. But I'd love to see everyone else's trip photos and learn some new facts about cities!
Cities I've passed through so far:
Houston, Texas
(I was on a bus, so the pretty lights moved everywhere. This was the best I could get.)
Texarkana, Arkansas (I didn't even know this was a thing. Sadly, there was nothing of note here, so I didn't get a picture.)
Kansas City, Missouri
(Almost didn't get a picture of this one! But as soon as I got a clear shot from where I was sitting, I snapped away! A bit better than the last shot.)
Omaha, Nebraska
(Blurry picture is blurry. Better than no picture.)
Destination: North Platte, Nebraska
(Here at last! And the person I'm visiting was right: there's nothing of actual interest here. Not that I mind; the trip itself was worth it!)

Ah, this is a brilliant idea, Lucree! I am a fan of this very much.
I am lucky enough to live on a island, so I am always by the sea. A couple years back my ex and I decided we wanted to watch the sunrise and smell like a campfire. Unfortunately campfires are against the law in our city, so we did a midnight drive up island, found ourselves a beach and made camp.
This is one of my favourite images from that trip:
This is Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada.
I would definitely be up for more pictures of your travels, which I hope are treating you well!
Nebraska, ahoy!

Thank you very much! And Nebraska ahoy, indeed! I'm having such a fun time so far. This isn't my first time taking the bus, but this is my first time out of state in a while.
I adore that photo, by the way! It must've been a rustic and romantic trip to behold with such a nice riverside view!
I haven't taken a bus in a loooooooong time. Do kind of miss it, but I know now that for myself, I prefer shorter trips on a Greyhound than long ones. Speaking of, how long is your journey?
As for the trip, we followed the coast all the way up as that is what the highway permits for the most part. It is quite beautiful. As for river, surprisingly, it is not! It's the Strait of Georgia, also known as the Salish Sea. Very cold, and salty. But fun to freak out tourists by swimming in it during the summer months because to them it's still freezing.

It's been a while for me too, about over three years since I've had to go by Greyhound. And my trip is two days long. (Long trip is long.) Well, one day now, since I'm supposed to arrive there tomorrow afternoon. I'm usually good on these kinds of trips, so it's no big deal. Besides, it's a good way to see sweet sights!

Oh, so seaside? That sounds even more fun! And it must be cold from the sounds of it, if it freaks out the tourists during the summer. (It does sound nice to take a dip in the cold sea though, but that's because I am so not fond of the summer heat. So hot~)
Sounds like a well needed trip. Are you off to adventure solo or to see friends/family? Whatever awaits you, I'm sure it'll be grand. I really do hope to see more pictures of your travels, even blurry ones. Night lights are so pretty, I mean, what's not to love about getting to see and experience new things?
And very much sea-side! It's enough to chill your toes even in summer, but I guess growing up here gives you a bit of a thicker skin towards 'wet cold'.

Oh, I'm off to see a boyfriend of mine. We've met once when he was in my neck of the woods, but I haven't been to his place yet. And of course! The nighttime is perfect to take photos of cities, I've found. It really captures a lot of what that city has to offer. Then again, I've always been fascinated with the city lights at night. It's a man-made star show from a distance, and the architecture of skyscrapers really stands out when silhouetted and lit up. Daytime photos really pop too. So you'll definitely see more from me as I move on to the next city!

That actually sounds wonderful. I'd love to take a dip in such a cold swimming spot. I'm just so sick of the summer months down here, cold places anywhere else is a welcome change for me. Even in winter, my city feels like summer never left most times. I live near the Gulf of Mexico, so that may explain a little bit of the weird weather.
Update: I just hit Kansas City, Missouri! The lights are so pretty at night, even at a distance. I just updated the master thread with a (relatively) decent photo!
Any one know any facts about this place? *Looks at a certain moth*Yeah, it's in Missouri, but I tried~ Can't even say 'close enough!'
Even better, anyone else got any shots they want to share of their own trips? I'd love to see them!

Update No. 2: I just left Omaha, Nebraska... And man, is it cold! Snow everywhere! It's so pretty though... Pretty enough to start a snowball fight!
So, any little facts about Omaha that I don't know about? Or maybe a travel pic or two that anyone wants to share with me? I'm all eyes and ears for the next few hours until I hit my final stop!
Also, I may have one extra destination photo coming up from another place in Nebraska. Depends on the circumstances, so keep an eye out for that!

Sounds like an adventure! Have fun.
Thank you very much, Asroc! I'm already having fun, but dear lords, Nebraska is cold.
Ah, welcome to Nebraska! I hope you have a blanket or something, Lucree, I know those buses can be quite chilly! I also hope that you managed to get some rest last night, I know sleeping on a bus, most especially with the changes in temperature, is not the nicest.
I'm assuming though that your beau is very close now though, no? ^^

Yeah, I managed to get some good sleep this time around. But the next time I come, I need to remember to bring socks and a blanket just in case. I got lucky with some of buses being heated here.

Under 40 minutes close, yeah. It's all so exciting and unnerving. But I can't wait to wander into his midst!
Major Update: I made it to my final destination: North Platte, Nebraska! ...Not much to say on the place, but I'm okay with that. I wasn't expecting much to the city when I started this adventure~
But prove me wrong! Are there any facts about North Platte I don't know about? Or even the person I'm visiting doesn't know about? Let me hear it!
If you're looking for a destination photo of me.... Hmm... I'll see about posting photos when I leave for home! Maybe.
