It was a dark night for the young blunette. She paced around her bedroom in the village, trying to figure out exactly who she was and why she was there. The bluenette sighed softly as she soon sat upon her bed, a thought crossing her mind. What was she? Was she human? Or was she some kind of creature unknown to humanity? The bluenette growled softly to herself as the thoughts were giving her a bad migraine. No matter what she did, she could not remember anything for the life of her.
"Who am I?" She asked herself looking out the window.
The bluenette looked over to the door upon hearing it creak open. She cocked her head to the side upon seeing the elder.
"Elder..." She said softly
The elder stared at the girl for a moment before offering a soft smile towards the blue haired female. She slowly approached her, sitting down on the edge of the old bed and patting a spot beside her. The bluenette nodded her head softly before sitting beside the elder.
"Sapphire, I can see you have not yet remembered anything my dear. Perhaps the answers you seek lies elsewhere. Not here." The elder stated softly.
The bluenette cocked her head again confused by the words of the elder. Elsewhere? Where else could the answers to her origins lie? These questions plagued her mind for a moments before she once again looked towards the elder.
"But, where else could the truth lie? Where could I possibly go to uncover the truths of my past and to recover my lost memories?" She asked softly.
"Only you can know the answer dear Sapphire. You must travel around and do as much research as you possibly can. Your answers do not lie here in the village. They lie somewhere else in this world. Perhaps you will find some of the answers you seek in a library. Books hold many secrets and many truths within their pages of wisdom. Start there my dear."
Sapphire closed her eyes for a moment before she nodded her head and stood up. The elder had spoken the truth of her situation. None of the answers or truths existed here in the village. They lied somewhere else. She had to find out these truths and find where she originated from.
"To be honest, I have always wondered what lied outside the village boundaries. I guess, nows a good a time as any to find out..." She said in a quiet voice.
The elder nodded her head as she handed Sapphire a duffle bag full of supplies and rations. Sapphire gave a soft smile as she hugged the elder.
"Before you leave my dear, I have something to give you. It was something we found when you collapsed outside the village."
The elder walked out of the room for a moment, leaving Sapphire sitting on the bed wondering what she was going to do when she left the village. The elder soon returned with an object wrapped in an old ragged cloth. Handing the object to Sapphire, she smiled as she undid the rope binding the cloth to said object. Sapphire carefully unwrapped the cloth to revel a beautifully crafted katana with a pure blue blade. Sapphire stared in awe of the beautiful blade, looking at it for a few more moments, looking towards the hilt which was engraved with a carving of a dragon and the the handle carved to look like a dragon head.
"You...found this with me?" She asked.
"Indeed. When you collapsed outside the village, you dropped this blade right beside you. I've been taking care of it all these years, polishing the blade and keeping it sharp for the day you might leave the village. Now is that time. Take this blade Sapphire and leave the village. Find out your origins. Discover the truth. I wish you best of luck my dear."
Sapphire smiled brightly as she attached the blade to her belt and sheathed it. She then hugged the elder once more before approaching the door to leave.
"I promise, I will find out the truth. Just you wait."
With that, Sapphire departed the village in search of her truth and her past.
