If you’re unfamiliar with Persona 5, here’s the basic gist (you might wanna look into Persona 5 just to see things for yourself):

Everyone has a persona within themselves, but not many ever awaken them, or even know they exist. Those who have distorted desires or possess strong negative thoughts about themselves or others have palaces within the metaverse. The palace is a materialized version of a person’s distorted desires and thoughts (i.e viewing people as ATMs or seeing someplace as your castle). A person can have a change of heart if their treasure is stolen and their shadow is forced to return to their body. People can awaken their persona and attempt to steal the heart of the distorted individual.
I wanted to do a roleplay in the Persona 5 universe where we have our own original characters. I was thinking this would be better as a group roleplay, however, it doesn’t have to be. I was thinking maybe 3 or 4 people if it’s a group rp, just so it doesn’t get too hectic. Your main characters would have to be Phantom Thief, but you could also play a distorted person or regular people on the side if you’d like. For your Phantom Thief, you’ll need to decide their real name and backstory, their persona, etc.

I'm really new to the Persona fandom, but I really want to put an idea of mine to paper (or text, in this case). Since I'm new, the plot of the game of Persona 5 is fuzzy, but I understand the concepts of persona and palaces and such. I need to make a profile for the character first, too.

Oh! I'd be interested! I've actually been things about doing a Persona 5 roleplay as of recently, but one problem is that I haven't made a character yet. But like I said, I'd love to join. I could probably get another person to join as well, because I know they're interested in a persona 5 rp as well.
Really? That's great! I was thinking of doing some stuff on discord (I didn't know it existed until recently, I've only ever done forum and private rps in the past) so everyone who's interested can all get together and discuss what to do~
I also figured that's where the chatrooms for OOC and in character chatting would occur. Still, I'm not entirely sure how to do everything, since I'm kind of new to doing a roleplay like this, but it's something I want to try. I have a character in the works, but I'm not finished yet, so don't worry about not having a character because we're in the same boat lol. Discord's definitely good to use to set up a rp, in my experience and opinion. It's actually my preferred platform/place for roleplay, so I'm glad to here that it'll be there c: my friend also uses discord.
