The whole school of Babel was covered in snow. Even for a 20th of November, the ay was cold. A few tens of students where gathered in little groups in the hall, protected of the freezing temperatures by a bay window and a good number of heater.
Ange didn't had school right now, and she was a bit bored, so she breathed on the glass and started drawing the map of the place.
The central building was mostly the hall and the administration at the ground floor and the school cafeteria and the library at the first floor.
The north wing was a big three floor high block. First level was chemistry and biology labs, second one was for language course, philosophy, history and geography. The last level was for maths and art courses.
The south wing was the sport complex, but also where warlocks and clerics would learn to master their inner angels and demons. It was a big building. At the surface was two sports halls, both with multipurpose fields, but the most interesting part was underground. Separated in multiple little sealed rooms, each of them designed to resist to about everything a spellcaster could throw at them.
The last building was east of the central hall. It was the building designed for housing the students, with bedrooms for two to four students and two different lobbies to help them relax.
She sighted at the though of drinking some hot chocolate, tomorrow. Breakfast were great in Babel.
The school itself was a 200 meters big square, surrounded by a 7 meters high 50 centimeters thick wall, followed by a 30 meters wide antimagic shield, and then another wall. Watchtowers were placed allong the outer wall, 25 meters appart, housing snipers watching the no man's land 24/7, armed with both sedative and letal special anti-cleric and anti-warlock ammnitions. Fleeing Babel wasn't an option. Not only because of that, but because it was the only piece of civilization for 30 kilometers of freezing plains.
Ange closed her eyes. If she could, she would never leave the school. She was here since she was 6, and it was 10 years ago. It was her home, the students, teachers and soldiers were her family. Of course, like every family, it had its ups and downs, she didn't really had friends, mainly acquaintance (except Cap Lawson, a soldier watching the Library), but she was happier than ever.
The bell rang, indicating her that her next course was up. History, one of her favourite. A bright smile started to appear on her lips. She was wondering if a newcomer would join them, today. The last one was like two weeks ago...

The duo had attended to learn about their abilities, not make companions and change lives. That was the arrangement they made with their employer: finish up and get back to work as fast as possible. Though, that'd be easier said than done.
The day started chilly as they stumbled into school; Melanc and Night could see their breath. They huddled together in the halls, away from the others as if contact was painful.
