As soon as Nara got inside, Alain got a radio transmission.
"Metal 0-1 this is Valkyrie 5-1 coming in for airstrike."
"Roger Valkyrie 5-1, hit them!"

At that point, a harrier aircraft flew along the length of the street, and two 50 cal guns shot down onto the street as it passed. Several Arcans dropped to the ground.
"Metal 0-1, give us a sitrep. Do you need another run?
"Affirmative, Valkyrie, hit it."
"Roger, coming around for a second run.

Everything happened quickly then. As the harrier flew over again, several more arcans dropped to the ground. Then, Alain saw an Arcan carrying what seemed like a missile launcher. Alain shot at it. It dropped dead to the ground, but the missile was fired.
"Valkyrie 5-1, bail out, bail out!"
Too late. The missile hit before the pilot could eject, and the plane went down with a loud explosion, leaving no doubt that the pilot was dead.

"Damn it!" Alain yelled. "Homebase this is Metal 0-1, LZ Alpha is hot, I repeat, LZ Alpha is hot! We just lost Valkyrie 5-1!"
"Roger that, Metal 0-1. Pull out and retreat to LZ Bravo. Your transport will be waiting on the ground for you there."
"Roger, moving!"

"Everyone regroup on me, we're moving back to LZ Bravo!"

Declan chopped and sliced Allowing the others to make an escape and when the Arcans slowed down he ran after them "I;m right behind ya" he said shooting arrows at the Arcans impaling some to walls.

Deirdre watched wide eyed as Valkyrie 5-1 fell in flames. She cursed under her breath as she peered out once more, shooting down any Arcans that came into her vision. She then turned to follow behind the others, taking out her pistol and shooting at any others that chased after them as they advanced to their new destination.

"Austin, get down. We need to move!" Alain started moving onto the street from cover to cover, shooting several Arcans as he went. "Everyone stick together now, if we get split up, there's no telling what can happen."

Austin put up forcefield just seconds before the airstrike hit. He watched in horror as the ship went down and exploded.

He jumped off of the bank with his repeater in hand, landing with a small thud. He blasted a few Arcans before regrouping with the rest of his crew.

"What the hell just happened?" He asked frantically. How did they know that the squad would be coming? Austin fired his repeater a few more times, taking out a few more handfuls of Arcans.

"Reinforcements, that's what happened. That first sniper must've triggered the rest!" He started kicking doors in untill they reached the building's back door. There were five Arcans waiting for them, but Alain didn't want to waist time. He quickly shot each of them and proceeded down the alley. "Come on, this way!"

"I hope they don't have some kind of telepathic connection or something!" she said over the noise, gritting her teeth. The Arcans seemed to be advancing on them quickly. Deirdre paused for a moment as they went to the building. Reaching to her belt, she pulled off a plasma grenade taking a couple steps back, she threw the grenade across the street to the groups of Arcans. The grenade exploded upon impact with the ground, not failing to kill several of the creatures but not killing all of them. Deirdre ran to catch up to the group, shooting her pistol. "They seem bloody pissed, if you ask me!"

Alain couldn't supress a grin. "Well, we killed a load of them. That shot down harrier probably didn't do for repayment in their eyes!"

"Heh! A few probably want our heads on a pike!" Deirdre chuckled suddenly, shooting down a couple other Arcans before she went behind the alley wall for cover to reload.

Alain sought cover as well. "Allright guys, LZ is two blocks to the southeast. We'll walk on this side of the street for the first block, then cross it and go straight through the second block's main floor. Transport will be waiting there, on a small playground. Everyone okay with that?"

Deirdre looked to Alain as she followed. "Fine by me." she said before she took off ahead to check out the area ahead for any troops.

"Allright, moving."
Alain took point, but kept close to the wall. He made good speed - he wanted to be at the LZ before the Arcans showed up behind them.

Deirdre skid to a stop, looking down a connecting alley making sure there were no Arcans waiting for them. Keeping her pistol aimed in front of her she advanced to the edge of the alley that lead into the street. Gazing out there didn't seem to be any visuals of the enemy neither any visible traps. she took a couple steps out behind a car, kneeling and waiting for the others to catch up before she moved ahead once again.

Austin followed close behind Deirdre, dematerializing his weapon and materializing a rail gun instead. With the materialization tech he had, he should be able to supply his gun with practically unlimited ammo, which was fine because blasting away enemies with a rail gun that didn't have reloading time was absolutely brilliant right about now.

One, two, three Arcans fell victim to the magnetic blasts as Austin furiously took them out with the precision power weapon. "Where the hell are they coming from?"

"Your guess is as good as mine." Nara kept close, her sniper rifle slung across her back. She held her pistol at the ready, being careful to look around in case there was anyone following them.

Declan wasn't following them, he'd been captured and beaten. his bruises were severe as they kept him from moving. "you won't *Cough* get a word... out of... me" he coughed blood as he stayed strong against the arcans. They kept at it, hitting him hard and with full force of their bats and rods.

As the group got closer to the LZ there was an Arcan Ship close behind them following them and inside was Declan. His Zanpaktou on a table behind him and all of his spiritual energy gone dry. He must have gotten caught when he barricaded the doors behind the group to help them escape, now he was in a bind and pretty soon... on death's doorstep.

Alain arrived at the LZ, making a quickl head count. "Okay, if everyone's h-" his eyes went wide. "Where's Declan?" he inquired.
At that very moment, his comms unit buzzed.
"Metal 0-1 you've got an Arcan gunship incoming."
Alain swore "Roger that Homebase." he then looked around. "Everyone get cover in that building!" As he proceeded to the entrance himself, he looked at his radar. Declan was close, and approaching fast. Faster than anyone would on foot. "What the..."

The gunship flowed them and stopped above a few meters away. But the ship became unstable, it swayed left and right until the bull exploded... A humanoid figure shot out of the explosion covered in smoke and ash. It crash landed into the street... The figure was Declan, all broken up and bleeding. He stood up slowly and limped towards a house from there he vanished...

i can't go yet... he whispered before vanishing.

Alain gritted his teeth.
"Metal 0-1 good job on that bogey."
"Wasn't us Homebase. We lost one man." he replied.
It remained silent for a while. "Roger that Metal 0-1"

At that moment, Evac arrived. "Come on, let's move!" He moved out of the building first, taking position next to the dropship. Several ARcans turned the corner of the alley to where they are, but Alain dropped them.

Austin remained straight as Declan disappeared. He had witnessed many casualties before. He was thankful that his unfamiliarity with him prevented any emotional attachment.

Austin ran at the evac shuttle, throwing his rail gun to the side. (It then dematerialized.) He didn't worry about the Arcans, knowing Alain would take care of them. He stopped at the shuttle entrance and materialized another plasma repeater. "Come on!" Austin would provide covering fire for anyone approaching the shuttle.
