Alain remained where he was, for now. Since he and Austin were the ones specialized in medium and close ranged combat, he wanted to give the two Sharpshooters a window to get into the dropship. More Arcans appeared and Alain started shooting before they realized what the little group was up to. "Get in here, now!"
Deirdre ran in, diving in through the door as the shoot out began. Coughing, she propped herself up against a wall and peered over the wall and out the window. "Damnit!" she then realized they lost Declan. Sure, she didn't know him well but it was always a bad thing when they loose a member. Deirdre clenched her pistol, before she dashed across towards Austin and Alain, diving into the ship, only to turn and start shooting Arcans so Nara could get in alright.
Nara ran in after Deirdre, holding her pistol tight in her hands. A bullet fired from the one of the Arcans slammed into the back of Nara's right shoulder, piercing through the armor as she ran to the ship but she kept running until she was on the ship. Then she turned and shot a few Arcans with her pistol.
The hatch closed and Alain pulled Nara back and pushed her into the seat and belted her down. "Keep still. We'll get medics to look at that when we get back. For now, eat this." he gave her a wrapped candy-like object. It was designed by researchers to instantly quell any pain in the damaged part of the body, and to stop the process of breaking down cells.
"Homebase, we are on the transport. En route to command HQ."
"Roger that metal 0-1, good job. Glad to have you back."
Alain sat down as well and took of his helmet. "Goddamn..."

Nara didn't eat what Alain had given her. She was holding her shoulder, her blue eyes closed. She wasn't asleep, just trying to relax. She had put her pistol and took off her helmet.
Alain walked up the back of the dropship and looked out the window. Several Arcans had gathered where they just lifted off, just looking at them but not making an attempt to follow. Alain thought he saw another Arcan dropship fly in from the horizon, but it had just been the sun's reflection on a satelite disk. He sighed deeply. "Well... That was only just close enough." he said as he sat down.
They quickly made it back to the mobile HQ. The dropship docked and the squadron was allowed to get out again. As they moved to the command bridge, several soldiers looked at them. They didn't yet know them all, except for Alain, but they did know that metal 0-1 had just gone deep into enemy lines and got out again. Most were amazed, others were just staring with a blank expression on their faces. One saluted themn then another, and one more. They were all standing there in silent salute. Alain stopped and looked around. "What the..."
An officer came up to them. "Captain Alain Durand?"
"Yeah, that's me." Alain replied. "What the hell's this for?"
"Respect, sir. Everyone's heard of your mission, and the loss of your teammate. This is their tribute to you and your squad."
Alain frowned. "I hope they have a lot of tributes." he replied grimly.
"Sir..?" the man asked with a confused expression.
"Never mind. I suppose you were sent to lead us back to the command bridge?"
"Yes sir, follow me."

Nara followed Alain off the ship, still holding her shoulder. It didn't hurt as much and she was grateful for that. She looked around for any medics and sighed in relief that there weren't any. She disliked going to the infirmary and having to get checked on every few minuets. She looked at Alain then at the soldier. She had her helmet under her arm and her sniper rifle slung across her back.
