The shuttle quickly reached the first cloud layer. It started shaking heavily as the turbulence it. In less than a minute, however, they cleared it and the shuttle slowed down. It started pulling straight again and it was soon back in a horizontal position. The pulse generators below the ship activated and they quickly slowed down. Soon after, the landing station cam in view.
The ship came to a stop on a set of rails right next to the building. It drove on and connected with one of the bridges, and the doors opened. Alain unbuckled. "Allright, everyone okay?" He particularly looked at Declan, who had appeared as if he never even seen an aircraft before.

Declan unbuckled himself then stumbled out the door with his hand on his mouth. He took a helmet and threw up into it then placed it back "... Much better..."
A guard came along and picked up the same helmet, he placed the helmet back then ran to the male restroom "...Sorry..." Declan said smiling slightly and picking himself up

"Just fine..." Deirdre unbuckled herself and watched as Declan had stumbled out and thrown up into a helmet."Well.. maybe not?" She chuckled as she stood up and approached Declan outside the ship, patting him on the back lightly. "Don't worry about it. It happened to me to when I first did it too."
DEclan looked at her with a cocked eyebrow then smiled "yeah?... i don't think i'll ever get used to it..." a few mines were laid up on tables and Declan really couldn't help the fact his curiosity got the better of him.
"What's this button do?" he asked looking at the big button on the mine.
"What's this button do?" he asked looking at the big button on the mine.
"I'd suggest you leave that alone... unless you wanna get blown to pieces," Alain just said, smiling. "Come on, we need to get on a transport to command HQ. And before you ask, Declan, No. It's not the same as the one we just been in."
Nara unbuckled herself. She grimaced when Declan throw up but didn't say anything as she walked past him. She still hadn't taken off her helmet, not wanting to show her face to any of the others.
Alain walked over to the transport. As soon as they'd all get inside, it started driving towards command HQ.
the headquarters was basicly a huge driving building. At least, you could describe it best that way. It looked like a large tank, only there was no guns on it, and it had the size of a middle-sized skyscraper. Large wheels supported by Cryon, a metal found on asteroids, supported it. It was in a standstill right now. A Doorway opened in the center back of the machine, and the transport drove inside. It cam to a standstill and the doors opened.
The metallic voice sounded through the speakers. "Metal 0-1 has arrived on HQ."

Declan was still feeling a little weird. Not sick just weird. Something about this whole mess was putting him off "Alain, do we know who we're going up against?"
"We're about to find out." he replied.
A stiff-looking person just walked from an elevator onto their platform. He saluted Alain shortly, then looked at the others. "This is it? Thus is metal 0-1?" he looked dissapointed.
"It is," Alain replied.
"Allright, follow me." he walked back, Alain following close behind. He motioned for the others to follow.

Following along, she stared at the person who had looked disappointed with a straight expression. Although you couldn't see her face, she gave a slight glare at the person. Deirdre always hated that look, hands down but she decided to not take any notice of it and looked about the place as they walked. She was more curious about what they were going to be facing up against.
Declan was angry and made fun of the man mimicking what he said "this is it? This is metal 0-1"
The man was wise enough to ignore the comment as he led them to the command room.
As they entered, Alain told them all to wait a bit so he could go and find Massey.

"Hey, whoa, sorry. We can't allow anyone under the age of five into the facility." A young man stepped in front of the group, feigning an attempt to block Declan. He smirked.
"I'm Austin. I'm not really from here... My friends thought it would be funny to experiment with a device that would send me to a random point in space-time. It sent me here. I understand you guys are under attack? I'm a specialist myself, and the device to send me back home hasn't recharged yet. So I'm here to help."
The man known as Austin offered to shake each of the team members' hands in turn.

Alain looked back as he heard Austin. Another specialist, he figured. He kept walking anyway and returned shortly with Massey.
"Ah, Austin!" Massey said, "I see you've allraedy found your squad!"
"He's to be with us?" Alain asked.
Massey nodded. "Yes, he is."
"Very well." Alain held out his hand for Massey to shake. "I'm Alain, squad leader. Pleased to meet you."

She chuckled at the comeback Austin had thrown at Declan. Smiling politely she shook his hand firmly. "Nice to meet you, Austin. I'm Deirdre. 'Am a Merc." Her voice seemed to be a bit hoarse for a moment before she coughed and looked to Alain who returned with Massey.
Austin smiled when Massey came into view. "Really? I just picked a random group of elite-looking warriors. Guess I just got lucky."
Shaking Alain's hand, Austin smiled. "Good to meet you, Alain. Squad leader, huh? I'm a leader of a squad myself, although they're probably laughing their asses off right now."
He turned to Deirdre as well. He shook her hand. "Merc?" Austin raised a brow. His experiences with mercenaries had been mixed. She seemed trustworthy enough, however. "I've known a few mercenaries." The boy smiled anyway. Perhaps the government today hired more mercs than they did before?

Nara stayed out of the talking. She wasn't really a 'Greet the new person' type.
"Very well," Massey said. "If we're all finished exchanging introductions, let us continue to the task at hand." He motioned them to one of the tables. It was some sort of a large holo, displaying a complete map of the city as it was before the attack.
"To those of you who haven't been on earth for a long time, this city is about as large as half of the former US. These area's-" he pointed out a few areas on the map which were displayed in a red color, "-Are the ones overrun by what we have now dubbed Arcans. Earth Defense force is keeping them at bay all across the front line of the city, but they're spread too thin. Reinforcements will come, but by the time they get here, the Arcans will have overrun at least five more districts." Massey looked up seriously. "We haven't fully determined their origin, but their fighting style is about the same as ours, assault rifles, AT-guns and sniper rifles. We don't know all about them yet though, they might have other skills and weapons up their sleeves. Stay on your guard at all times."
Massey looked at Alain. "Alain, you and your squad will be deployed here," he pointed aout a red zone two clicks behind the front lines, at the outer blocks. "you'll then move up about three clicks towards the center of enemy territory and assault a command post. Gather information, kill Arcan's, I don't care, just do everything you can to get as much information as possible on these creatures."
Alain nodded. "An intel mission, then?"
"Indeed." Massey confirmed. he looked back at the group. "Alain will be your squad leader. You are to follow his instructions on how to approach situations, understood?" The pleasant Massey they had met at the elevator was gone and replaced by the serious Massey, who wanted to keep this city under human control at all costs.

Declan smirked at Austin "oh yeah, I'm the young'n, take off the costume and I'll knock you down a few" Declan brushed past him as he entered the room. When Massey started to brief them his childish attitude completely vanished and he went quiet planning his moves.
"It's a good thing that you have someone like me to mix up the dance a little" he points at a point on the map "this is an intel mission right? So then why don't we get a few of our men In the sewers and some of them to take position on the roofs to give us support fire with snipers" turns out the information he got from the helmet was pretty useful.

Austin, who was currently not wearing any armor at the moment, tilted his head at Declan's remark. "Whoa, Samurai Jack. I didn't mean to hurt your wittwe feewings, okay?"
Walking over to the holo, Austin studied intently.
"So these guys.. Aren't human?" He let that sink in. "Okay. Well, do we know what they look like? Any inhuman attributes? Enhanced abilities outside of their weapons technology? Or are we flying blind? I understand our job is to find out about these things, but do we know anything, at least so we know how to deal with them should the need arise? Also, what kind of gear do we have access to?"
