Deirdre looked back to Declan silent for a moment. "Normally I would laugh, but this is different. We've got aliens that are possibly smarter then us in every possible way, and it's entirely possible we might have a worst case scenario. Just because we are the best doesn't mean we won't get the worst of it, believe me." she said at a moderate volume. She was enitrely serious about this and it showed in her expression. She took a couple steps back before upturning another newspaper to find another mine. "Mine over here." she said before she approached the doorway, inspecting for tripwires or sensors. There didn't seem to be any in that one, so she moved into the next room, inspecting the floor again. She didn't go too far though.

Austin shook his head in disbelief.

"How the hell is this possible? I've got all active sensors on, I should be able to detect mines, and people. Their tech is advanced... Alain, we're flying blind here. Keep your eyes peeled."

Austin moved carefully, looking up at buildings for snipers, and at the ground for mines.

Declan also looked around, looking for any traps. "Shh... Damn soldiers, I can hear em from down the street" his acute hearing allowed him to hear things from miles. "About 15 soldiers and packin some serious weaponry" sounds of guns hitting armour filled the air as marching soldiers marched down the street "we need to hide, or attack. It's your call Alain"

Alain looked out the window just in time to see three of them enter ther building. "Looks like we won't be kept waiting. Three of them coming up. Nara, keep an eye on the main group. Open fire when they make an aggressive move."

Deirdre heard that there was a squad approaching. Gripping her pistol she leaned against the wall closest to the door that lead to the hallway attached to the stairwell. "I assume we are to take them out as quietly as possible is they come in here?" she said to Alain as she screwed a silencer onto the pistol she held. If one came through the door she was beside she would be ready.

Alain nodded. "Wait for my signal."

"Ready to fire when you are." Nara was aiming at the foot patrol.

"I got one" Declan said pulling back on his bow aiming at one.

Everything suddenly went by fast. A black cilinder rolled into the room. "Damn!" Alain yelled. He jumped towards it and threw it back through the door, firing a bullet with his pistol after it. The bullet hit the grenade in mid-flight and it exploded, sending a powerful shockwave out in all directions. The glass of the building's edge shattered, and all members of the squad who were inside the building were sent sprawling on the ground. Alain also saw a glimpse of red silhouettes flying backwards. He smiled for a moment, knowing he'd surprised them. He then hit the wall with a blow that smacked all air from his lungs.

He got up slowly and regained his footing. He saw a red creature leaning in over Deirdre. "Don't you dare!" he yelled. He ran over to it. The creature turned just too late to dodge him. Alain smashed him aside with the stock of his assault rifle, and fired several rounds into him. He then got back to Deirdre and pulled her behind cover.
"Declan, Austin, Nara! Weapons free, go loud! Go loud!"
He then turned back to Deirdre.
"Deirdre, are you allright?"

Nara shot several of the creatures right as Alain commanded it. They went down with one bullet hole in their chests or heads.

"Going... Loud?" He said before sending multiple shots of his arrows at the enemies taking their heads clean off. A VTOL looking aircraft seemed to be flying along side the building and started firing at them. Flashing to Deirdre and Alain he grabbed them then pulled them away saving them by mere seconds. "Careful, I'll take it out, give me some covering fire" Declan looked around searching the surrounding area for a way to get to the VTOL.

A rocket flew into the side of the building knocking everyone over including Declan but quickly recovering and sprinting for the VTOL he used the falling rubble as stepping stones to jump up to the craft and putting his sword straight into it's engine making it explode and just as Declan leaped back to the building, mid air he was shot in the arm sending him hurdling into the wall besides Alain "ow..."

Deirdre found herself turning at the last second to find that creature ready to stab her in the back. Bringing up her pistol as quickly as she could, she fell backwards onto her back as Alain knocked the creature down and shot it then pulled her behind cover. "Thanks, I'm alrigh--" she was cut off as Declan had pulled them both away. Deirdre turned and began to shoot any creatures that came into view with her pistol. She turned back behind cover just as Declan landed beside Alain. "Damn it all. Declan are you okay?" she said as she reloaded.

Alain bandaged Declan's arm up as best he could, considering their situation. The enemy aircraft was down, but now Alain heard others coming up the stairs. He aimed his rifle at the door and killed the first three before the others took cover.

The flechette launcher was quickly replaced with a plasma repeater; An oddly shaped weapon that creates balls of plasma with two "arms" that clamp together, and release to make a ball of plasma out of different "webbing" of the same material. The launcher in the middle of the weapon can fire these as fast as the user can pull the trigger, or even go full auto. Austin remained in semi-automatic fire for now.

A ball of light-blue electricity hit one of the creatures, and more electricity arced off of him into his comrades. This process repeated each time Austin fired. "How did they know we were coming?"

Deirdre took cover once more, looking to Austin. "I don't know, but all I know is that we got to deal with this before they send reinforcements." she said before she aimed her pistol around the corner, shooting one of the creatures dead center of the forehead. Deirdre ran out from cover and advanced closer to the door, reloading. Clicking her earpiece she spoke to Nara. "How are ya doing up there?"

"I'm doing well. They haven't notice me but I'm sure they will soon." Nara looked through her scope." There's a huge number of them."

"Can you give us an exact number?" Alain asked, taking cover as well and making sure to keep up suppresive fire on the door.

Declan peeled himself off the wall and landed flat on the floor. Pushing himself up he made for cover then let Alain bandage him "thanks, we can't stay here, this buildings going to collapse any minut. i'll distract them. all of you go ill be right behind you!" His light blue bow appeared in his hands once more and he broke for the soldiers.

Pulling back his arrows on the bow he unleashed hell on the soldiers as a bombardment of arrows flew at them taking out the first six soldiers. Declan quickly grabbed the body of a dead soldier still charging at the live soldiers as he used the body for a human shield.

When he got close enough he pulled out his buster sword and cut up a few more soldiers before yelling back at his team.

"Allright, now's our chance! move down to street level!" he positioned himself by the staircase, keeping an eye at the door and waiting for the others to run past him.

The plasma repeater electrocuted massive amounts of Arcans at a time; There was only so much space to spread out inside a small building like this. Austin was the first one to run down the stairs past Alain, and provided covering fire for the rest. "Let's move!"
