Giving a small chuckle Shade was about to turn away to move on, then the wind blew with it a foul stench of death.
"Darklings," Shade muttered out loud, just as three dark figures came moving up on them, "you any good in a real fight".

"Would I be alive if I wasn't?"
One of the darklings moved towards Shade, armed with blades just like his. It flickered and lifted it's dagger to attack. One of them moved towards Athena, armed with a bow and arrow. And the last stood back, seemingly controlling them. The one with the bow and arrow attacked Athena
Athena cut the arrow in half, then turned invisible

Quickly drawing both knives out at once Shade darted forward cutting off the darklings advance, blocking his attack with one blade while driving the other right through the creatures face.
Turning to look at the other darkling standing back Shade raised his knives ready to fight, holding back he glanced at the other darkling, looking bewildered at his broken bow, near where Athena once stood.

Athena went behind it and stabbed it, killing it. She then started to go after the mind controller. She threw her dagger at it's head.

"Bad luck girl," mocked Shade, " let me show you how it's done," he said picking up the blades of his fallen foe.

He killed the Darkling. "I'm usually better at this."
He killed the Darkling. "I'm usually better at this."
"Comes with the territory." Shade said "now then, if a maybe so bold to ask, where is it you where heading before our unfortunate encounter."
"I was trying to go to my new hideout. The last one was found, so I packed up and left. Seeing as you're the only sane person I know, do you want to join me? It's a well known fact that groups survive better than solitary people."
"True, especially with these vagrant's stalking around," said Shade gesturing towards the dead bodies behind them, "lead the way then."
Calan giggled in the trees above them, her feet swinging as she sat there watching them. "So trusting.... that's a sight to behold" She jumped down from the tree landing in front of them. Her small frame and blue skin etched with markings gave her sylph blood away. She appeared to have no weapon other than the amulet dangling from her neck. Her white hair was in a loose bun and she wore an oversized poncho.
As Athena and Shade started to walk, they looked up in time to see a strange blue skinned girl drop down in front of them. Drawing his knives Shade ran forward, before she had a chance to react he was beside her, knife positioned at he throat.
"Didn't anyone tell you, sneaking up on someone is a quick way to lose your head."

Calan smirked behind her scarf. "Who said I wanted it?" She moved back rising up from the ground as she floated away.
"Your not going anywhere," said Shade grabbing the girl's ankle as she floated, pulling her back he glances at her amulet, "name and explanation right now, who do you work for".
Calan happy exterior dropped as she glared at him. "Let go. Now." She clenches her fists as the wind began to pick up around her.
"Don't think a little wind can stop me," Shade shouted over the wind, one hand gripping the girl, the other holding his blades while trying to keep his hat and mask from blowing off, "who are you".
Calan raised her eyebrow. "Maybe if you ask nicely I'll be more willing to cooperate, ever think of that." She kicked at his hand and began pulling away from him.
"oh where are my manners," Shade said mockingly, putting away his knives and taking a deep bow, putting on a posh tone of voice "if it would please you most kindly, who are you and where pray tell did you acquire that pendant".
Calan grabbed her pendent protectively. "Found it, what's it matter?"
"A token of the dead is not so easily found," he said stepping forward, looking to grab it from her, "you know not the power it may very well possess".
