When ivanna was a all toddler, her father passed away in a car crash. Within the months after her mom had married again, this man was never home, but when he was he was very controlling and abusive. Ivanna often went to school with bruises on her arms, so she began to wear long sleeve shirts and did whatever she could to not go home after school. After graduation she went to the local college, studying hard and staying in the dorms. She visits her mother every week and keeps telling her things are going to get better. Even though she doesn't believe it herself.

One day she comes home after visiting her mother. She is shaking and fumbling with her keys. As she opens the door to her building she bumps into someone. "Sorry" She mumbles before rushing down the hallway to her room.
