Important Updates to this Forum

Update 12/23/18: If anyone would like to add a link (or links) to my Tips, please feel free to do so! I do not mind if people add to it. If you'd like to ask permission, just hit me up either here or in PM! Thank you. ^-^

Update 8/8/19 Please be aware that at the time I post/share links, they work for me. If for some reason the links do not work, please: Let me know which post of mine has the link, by providing the date that the link was posted in, as well as telling me which link it is that does not work anymore. I have posted so many links, that just simply copying the link I shared that is not working anymore, does not help me to figure out where it is so I may remove it. Thank you.

Hello fellow RPR members!

Winter here once again. I have a Pinterest account, and one of my boards is called Writing Tips. What I'd like to do, is share these tips with you.

Q: Have you tried these tips yourself, Winter?

A: Admittedly, no. I have not taken the time to try them out yet. However! I still feel that they might be helpful to some fellow roleplayers.

So below is a list of websites with tips or images with tips on them from Pinterest, to hopefully help others out.

In the words of LeVar Burton: "But! You don't have to take my word, for it."

This is a good compilation! Thanks for sharing!

Tips, being tips, are merely suggestions and guidelines. It's good to glean that which works for you from these and not worry about the ones that don't.

You are most welcome, and I agree with you on that. I hope you will be able to find some of them useful for you.

I have found a couple things in this to tweak my style. Thanks again.

I would like to say that along with these fine guidelines on the way to write scenarios, I think it is very important to be mindful of the way one's writing is presented really makes a difference in an RP. Since the media is text-based, how something is written (typed) can make or break an RP no matter how good the content of the writing is.

Since I am reading what is written either in a PM or a forum post, and either on a computer monitor or a mobile device, readability is important to me. If I have a post that is a wall of text without capitalisation, full stops (periods), and a space between paragraph breaks, it is quite hard to read and motivation to continue RP'ng is diminished. I guess this is what is mistakenly referred to in a lot of LFRP threads as 'literate'.

I'm not advocating perfect sentence structure, punctuation, and syntax, but some attempt should be made to make an RP post as presentable as possible and easier to read.
