Oh, boy, my favourite time of the day. Despite me doing EVERYTHING in my power to fall asleep early, I end up staying up way too late with too many thoughts flying through my head like a flock of birds. I’d be hella lucky to fall asleep as early as 10, but NOPE, insufficient sleepy points for me! I just wonder what the bloody point is anymore if EVERY SINGLE NIGHT produces the same goddamn result with no GODDAMN progress with each passing night. If this continues, I swear I’ll resort to sleeping tablets to ease the suffering.
I’m sure some of you are in the same boat as me, and if you are, my deepest condolences. No one should have to suffer through this agony. Right now it’s 3:00 AM and I haven’t the slightest bit of tiredness. Looks like I’m staying up the whole night... again...

Praise be Insomnia... It can either be the meanest arse you know, or be very useful when you need to get something done!

Maaaaate, nothing’s more important to me than my mental and physical health. Not even RPing. It’s also why I’m not a baker, lol.

Lol My mental heath is fine! It is also about finding ways to regulate yourself so you do not burn out. I don't know, maybe I am just that damn weird lol.

I wasn’t doubting your mental health or anything, it just seems logical for me at least to get as much sleep as I can to regenerate what I’ve lost throughout the day.
And lol, we’re all creatively weird in some regard, my friend.
Shhhhh... I am calling my own mental health into question Honestly if I did not get into dazes like this, I would never get so many ideas for RP as I do lol. Well I know it is supposed to be 'healthy' to get at least a minimal of eight hours, but I am still alive and I rarely sleep more then two to four hours lol. if I sleep anymore its because my body shut down for a while.

Well, RIP then I wanna make sure my body is operating at maximum efficiency, it’s just so goddamn frustrating that it’s not allowing me to. That’s why I’ve been getting sick recently. I wanna call my GP but they’re not opened till Monday.
And usually I get my RPs while caffeine induced, lol, so I guess we’re polar opposites in that regard.

Thanks a lot, man I appreciate your sympathy
YEah. I have that issue. Not as much as I use to, I get in bed around 9:30 to 10 and call it a day. My lack of sleep is caused by my anxiety.
I on and off have serious bouts of insomnia myself, they're usually anxiety induced and paired up with panic attacks. On the lucky nights I do fall asleep early, I sometimes suffer terrible bloodsugar crashes that make me exhausted but it's dangerous to sleep. It does a number on me for sure.
The past couple of weeks I miraculously switched my schedule around. I make sure to go to bed between 10:30pm-11pm latest and just... force myself to go lay down. Sticking to a routine of brushing teeth, brushing hair, changing out of my clothes and putting something soothing on in the background helps tremendously. I'm able to wake up between 6-8am on most mornings without too much of an issue and function well throughout the day. I try not to sleep in on any days though, not even weekends, where possible, otherwise I will ruin it all over again. My alarm goes off at 8am latest every morning.
How long this will last? No idea! I hope for a couple of weeks. School just started for me which helps to maintain the routine, but life kicks me in the butt every now and then.
I would take sleeping/anxiety medication, but typically they just make me feel groggy throughout the day and I cease to function properly. So they're out. If you think pills might help though, go see your GP and see if they can prescribe you something. Taking pills to help you practice self-care and get back into a good sleep schedule is not a bad thing! Of course, addressing the root of your insomnia is always best, but sometimes we need a quick temp fix to kick ourselves back into the saddle.

Yeah, I tried sleep meds before and I felt like I was groggy the next day. I never had issues with Melatoin, though. I use the gummy kind.
I just suggest trying to take them an hour or half hour before going to bed. I am someone who likes it nice and quiet before I sleep where I am and where I am at is very peaceful.

So sorry to hear all that. My anxiety is pretty much under control, but still, good on ya for improving.
A while back I got a prescription for Temazepam and I’m thinking it’s a good idea to start taking them again. Last night when I posted this? I didn’t even sleep, at all.
I do have a sleeping schedule; I prepare for bed at 8:30, then I actually go to bed at 9. I even have my new phone go into a warmer filter setting and reduce my brightness so I can switch on some meditation music as I lay in bed. I set my alarm clock to trigger every 5 AM. Problem is, it doesn’t matter how much I prepare, I end up lying there, bored out of my mind and trying to force myself to sleep. Books don’t help much either, in fact, they keep me up. Essentially, no matter what I do, no matter how much I try and relax and ease myself into a blissful sleep, I’m screwed each night. The medicine is my last resort until I contact my GP tomorrow.

I'm not kidding, work out, I know it said to keep you awake, it's true, it's making you awake, but after the intensive sweat, you'll be feeling refreshed and nice, and you'll happily go shower then sleep at least an hour or two, especially if you are young. I don't know the effect on older people than twenty but I guess it goes the same, only you wish to sleep longer.
Why not just using this time to do anything else, if you don't sleep, anyway?
Could be a hobby, crafting, writing, something cool, if you're not willing to go on a run, and if you just can't ( you broke your leg or I don't know. xD)
Ban coke, and everything that seems to have a boosting effect on you : can be no more supermarket fruit-juice, can be tea, coffee, chocolate-coffee...
Eat light, before going to sleep, even if big diner have to reputation to make you groggy and sleeping, it makes energy too after this phase, so I guess it's pretty safe to assume you could try having a nice old soup before bedtime, rather than going all meat and spaghettis.
Is there a reason that might keeps you awake at night?
Would like to tell more about in PM?
Sure there might be something, to do to ease your sleeping pains, and in the very last ressort, well, you're normal rythm is what it is. I got a friend my age who is asleep by 10pm but wakes up early, like the saying go, Early to bed, early to rise. And not everybody does that, even when healthy and stuff.

Excellent advice 👍 working out is awesome, especially when you’re about to take a shower. I haven’t had the time to do much working out as of late, but I’m slowly easing back into my routine. Wanna focus a little more on functional cardio and conditioning for Muay Thai, but y’know, been feeling really sick in the stomach recently and I ended up collapsing during mit work.
What could I do? Everyone’d be asleep so I can’t just get up and dance. I’m pretty limited as to what I could do that interests me.
I haven’t drunk coke for more than 5 years. Although I do have some fizzy every once and a while, like Lemon Lime and Bitters if it’s available. Though, I probs should cut back on the coffee; mostly been using that for work purposes.
I guess that’s the one issue I’ve been going through with sleep: eating too late. Last night I was at a Texan restaurant and we had tea pretty late. Didn’t help that it was honey soy and seasoned pork ribs, lol.
