The Association stands central to a fortress city called Amberstone. Those who enter The Association do so by invitation. The mentors are famed adventurers with talents, skills, and experiences that make them a force to be reckoned with. Students are young adventurers with varying backgrounds that have been observed by the council and determined to be potential Heroes. No one is born a Hero. A mentor's job is to hone a student's skills as well as direct the student's motivations toward good. The council has chosen to send mentors with a few selected students on missions of good will to train and gain useful tools or information benefiting the party as well as The Association.
The Association itself is a compound. Apartments are on the East Wing of the compound and house students individually. While relationships between adults are permitted and in some cases nurtured by the council and mentors, a magic force is in place that allows only one student in their own quarters. This means any interactions that would not be permitted in the common areas must be taken outside of the compound or risk consequences.
The central hub of the compound consists of a parking garage concept of different training fields, layering one a floor above the other with a shooting range in the basement. The first, second and third floors are for martial and weapons training with posts and weapons stands. The door to the roof leads to a dimensional portal that allows for magic training in an atmosphere that can support life, but has not yet developed beyond plant matter. This is called The Studio.
The West Wing houses the Mentors on the top floor and the lower level holds the admission offices as well as the Mentor's work studies. Jokes about the council have become lore. They say, "The council, always aware, never present." Some believe that some of the ancient mentors make up the council, but the true make-up of the council remains a mystery to most.

Hello, are you a new student? Or here to fill a Mentor position? Follow me to my study and we'll verify your information. Ellie never moves her lips as she smiles directly at you, yet you hear her soft melodic voice ringing. Don't be afraid. All are safe at the Association. Pardon my rudeness, my name is Ellie, Personnel and Student Relations.

Lilla walks up the steps facing a gate when a barrage of greeting floods her brain. She turns to face the only person around and smiles a little before getting back her composure. She sets down the trunk she had been carting on her shoulders and reaches to shake Ellie's hand.
"Yes, I wish to be a Mentor. I have a set of skills that would make me very valuable to your Association."
