So I'm big into old 80s cyberpunk and sci-fi. Just played System Shock 1, I read a bunch of old first-edition Shadowrun sourcebooks. I'm in love.
One of my favourite things to say in general is 'cyberspace'. I refer to the Internet as 'cyberspace' because a) I have no shame and b) it sounds cooler to say 'I'M ENTERING CYBERSPACE' than to say 'I'm logging onto my computer'.
I like cyberspace, and I like old-timey IRC chats and old-timey internet names. So I'm going to try a little experiment with the 'live chat' function, and set one up.
Basically, in this roleplay we take first-person roleplaying to the next level. Post in the chat as if you were your character in some kind of cyberpunk future (canon is semi-flexible, but I'll lay down a few guidelines if it's clear people would be interested in this).
This does require a certain amount of immersion - if your character says they're going out to visit a contact of theirs in some dark alleyway, don't immediately keep posting. Wait a few hours, or however long it'd take for that to happen. Think about how it'd go down.
And, of course, you'll be communicating entirely by way of what your character types (or inputs using neural implants, or whatever). You can't actually describe their actions, because they're basically using the same live chat as we are. Say what they'd say.

Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
