"Test subject 9012..." A man uttered a 'name' as he tapped a pen onto a clipboard, looking down at a piece of paper as he shook his head, looking up at the glass cell that held the newest, perhaps oldest... test subject they've had... The others have wound up dead before nightfall of their first night in their new claimed cell... Perhaps it was suicide, or perhaps they were just too old, maybe they had major wounds from the bomb that had went off just years ago...
What ever it may be, 9012 had survived the longest out of all the others... Maybe he just wanted to live, maybe he thought he had an actual chance of escaping his cell... Though of course, he didn't have to know he was soon going to die eventually,
there was nothing more powerful than hope, now was there?
"Why can't you give me an actual name..." A small murmur had arose from the water filled, glass cage, two hands pressed against the glass, gleaming eyes seeming to stare directly into the soul of the scientist. Though, the hopeful beast, was only returned with a small grunt and a wretched laugh. "Because you're merely a test subject." At least... that was what they always said when asked a question such as this...
Perhaps they were just cruel humans who didn't give a damn about the other races, only their own... Perhaps they only cared about saving their own lives so they could survive the only thing standing in their way... Radiation. The radiation wouldn't affect a beast made to kill man-kind... Perhaps it was something in their blood, or maybe it was their bone marrow.
Who knew... What would really happen.
Seeming to swim off a bit, 9012 came charging back as he had slammed his hands against the glass, bubbles swirling around him from such fast movement. Once the bubble had disappeared, a hideous face had emerged, one with rotten skin,
teeth growing in places where it shouldn't, his nails grown 2 feet long. With his new found figure shown, he hissed at the man, growling with anger.
"Such a shame... You could've gone a day without a shock." The man proclaimed as he tapped a small button on the side of the cage, sending a shock wave into a small bracelet he had on his right wrist. Dropping and seeming to seize, he groaned as he felt the cold... Cold bottom of his cell...

Hello! I'm aiming for my FIRST Sci-Fi roleplay, so you'll have to excuse me if I'm not the best... But it's always good to try new thing, Right?
Anyways... The idea of the roleplay is to have your character be one of the new members of the 'Science Crew'. On their first night(The night after the scene above), they are to watch 9012, for what reason... Is unknown to you at the moment.
Like I said, this is my first time doing a Sci-Fi roleplay, so guarantee slow responses... and probably not the best responses either...

Plausible legends of ancient magic, but current magic is not common.
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
