It was the first day of a new year at Shadows' School of Magic. Cynder had opened the doors early for students and teachers alike. As the day began, overhead speakers crackled to life.
"Good morning Students and Teachers. Welcome to Shadows' School of Magic. Here we strive to better both ourselves, and our powers. Good luck, and fate be at your sides."
Cynder's voice called out in announcement. After the speakers fell silent, and shadowy being formed. One of Cynder's magically summoned servants. It ushered for the new and first year students to gather around it.

Bell was among the first of the students to arrive. This was her first year, even though her mother was the Headmistress. She looked up at the large castle before her, pleased to find it similar to her home. She gave a soft smile, her mother had an affinity for these things.
Bell had been homeschooled most of her life, due to her strange inability to fully control her powers, and how destructive they could be. She had been able to get somewhat of a grip on them eventually, and Cynder felt that Bell could learn more in a public school setting.
So here the young scorpion goddess was. She soon spotted the all to familiar Shadow waving over the first year and new students, and moved towards it. She was sure to fold her wings close to her back, and wrap her tail around her waist. She had heard to much about other people her age to not do so.
First time teacher. Let's hope that it goes well.
While there might've been some doubts in her mind about it wouldn't go well (given her style of teaching), as long as the little kiddies learned something, it was just fine. Upon arriving (in her usual dark suit and pants), she spotted the first-years grouped up in front of the massive castle. The sight of it made her smile a bit. So many people to get to know. Especially the kiddies. She found that the students were usually the source of quality entertainment in these sorts of places.
As she walked along, she twirled her parasol around in one hand, and under her arm were a few slightly worn out books with dark leather covers. Today was going to be one of the more exciting days in the Virtuoso's life—if not the most. At least she would have something to preoccupy her in the coming months. Boredom always did hit hard.

Naesala walked into the school and looked around. Despite being 18, she had never been to the school before and this was her first year.
She walked through the hands, glancing at the other students as she walked. She had lowered her hood while entering the school, letting her deep purple and blue hair fall in loose gentle waves down her back.
She was excited about starting here, but a small part of her was nervous.

Donovan and Dustin Powers walked into the school, both boys were confident they'd do well here. Although, Dustin was thinking more about popularity, while Donovan was thinking about grades.
They walked down the halls, trying to find where they should be. Dustin noticed a girl who looked nervous around his age, and considered approaching her.
Nah. Flirting could wait. He'd just ask her a simple question. Dustin walked up to her, and said "Hi, I'm Dustin. Who are you?" And Donovan snorted, slightly annoyed with his brother for already talking with girls.

Hana had taken her time in arriving as the surroundings of the areas she had past were just as attractive to her as the building. It had taken her a while to reach the school, but once she reached the place, she was kind of nervous.
Hana had always wanted to attend one of these places, but she could never do so, as many of them had costed too much. Now that she has arrived, she had been having second thoughts. She eventually came to a conclusion. "Let's do this." She had entered through the front doors. She slung her bag over her shoulder, walking through the halls, looking for where she should be.

Etta, Aviva, and Alexis were all new here as well. None of then knew each other, but happened to enter at similar times.
Alexis walked forward confidently, despite not knowing exactly where to go. She looked around, taking in her surroundings.
Etta glided across the halls, mostly staying near the walls. She used her vision to check out the place more quickly than Alexis could, hoping she could learn where everything was.
Aviva had her head high, not looking at other students. She noticed a boy talking with a girl, and assumed he was probably flirting. *Boys these days...* She thought, as if she wasn't in the same generation.

Jas trudged forward as he listened to the announcement. He wasn't used to being in large crowds, making his nerves stand on end. This anxiety worsened once the shadow beckoned first year students forward. He had his black hood up, concealing his silvery-white hair, tucking any loose strands into the hood as he walked towards the figure. He held the messenger bag hanging from his shoulder in silence. The bag was fairly light due to having only a notebook inside, to which he drew in when he was bored, he hadn't known what more to bring than that.
Jas hated crowds, but he wanted to come here. Not for making friends, but to control his developing powers. His own fears were destroying or hurting the few people he cared about and trusted. He just didn't want to hurt anyone by accident. He wandered into the crowd surrounding the shadow figure, biting his lip and looking down to avoid eye contact while waiting for whatever introduction or orientation he assumed would take place.

Nalazar walked into the school looking around and then tried to find the mess hall. “Hmm.”
Nalazar acts unimpressed but in reality he really was enjoying the look of the place.

The shadow waited until all the first year student's had gathered around him, and began to speak.
"Attention! Attention First years!"
He called over the buzzing conversations of the students. He waited for the buzz to calm. Bell stood at the back of the group, listening quietly the whole time.
"In the next few moments, I will lead you to the mess hall. All of you will sit in the center two tables. During our First of the Year Feast, staff members will come around and pass out all the information you will need."
The shadow continued on. Bell already knew this though, she often heard about the First of the Year Feast from her mother.

Hana had managed to listen to all of the details. She never heard of the First of the Year Feast before.
She made sure she heard every word, waiting for everyone to start moving. Although, when she heard the word 'feast', she got hungry, and she worked up an appetite walking here. She waits for everyone to start moving to make sure of what's happening.

Jas shuffled forward as the figure spoke, catching only a few words of the shadow. He frowned as his hearing was more sensitive, but not quite up to that of the average person, another reason he disliked crowds, the noise.
By what he could make out it was a feast of sorts for, first years? He assumed the last part due to all the first years being around. Then it was mumbles to him with the exception of staff and information needed. Hopefully then he would understand once they arrived. Or at the very least get the gist of how school life would be.

Slysha stood quietly hoping not to get noticed but listened as the shadow spoke she thought ^first years i think they mean new people like me i might be able to meet new people^ she shuffled a bit because of excitement but she also had her ears near her head because of the noise of the others but can still understand the shadow because of her enhanced hearing
((Sorry guys I’m back. Kitten was your character talking to Naesala? Lol.))
((No big deal, just wanted to make sure before I answered))
Naesala was surprised when the boy walked up to her. He looked to be around her age, and seemed to be pretty straightforward if he was walking up to someone he didn’t know.
Before she could even respond to him the announcement for first years to head to the feast played. She glanced at the students who were already on their way before looking back at the boy, she gave him a small smile. “That would be me.” She told him, before stepping around the boy.

"Oh, see you later then," he said, putting his hand on the back of his neck.
"That certainly went well," Donovan remarked. "Like you could do better" Dustin replied, knowing his brother wouldn't even try. "I'm not the one who claims to be a master flirt," he said, and they continued as usual.

Naesala giggled as she heard the two boys arguing before they disappeared from view. She walked into the feast, noticing there was already quite a lot of people there.
She found an empty spot at one of the two tables they had been told to sit at. The seats on either side of her remained empty, and she drummed her fingernails against the table.

Hana looked around, glancing in different directions. As she did, she saw a boy flirting with a girl and failing, some random people, and some more random people. There weren't many spots left at the table, so she hurried herself over to the tables.
After a bit of struggling, she eventually found a spot at one of the tables, on the other side of Naesala. She looked to her with a bright smile. "Hello!" She seemed friendly.
